His reply was overshadowed by his proximity. Suddenly they were very close again. So close that she could feel his breath upon her face, taste the air flavored by his musk, all of which resulted in the intended effect. Dove found her eyes tracing across his rugged face; she saw the look upon his face - it was smug, but hungry. A look she had toyed with on occasion from others, but never this far. Never with this reaction from herself.

Her eyes drifted to his own, down his gaunt cheeks, and back again; as if contemplating her next move. And that was when sense came knocking. Dove pulled back slowly, and as they parted from one another's company, a lazy smile appeared upon her dainty face. She wanted to say something to prove that she was in control; something witty, something filled to the brim with sass, but for once Dove was at a loss. The smile lingered for as long as she did — mere moments — for she was striding away from him with a confident pace.
