Cicero allowed Burke to carry him home while they ignored the other wolf. Cicero looked at the other wolf but he didn't say anything, because usually when he was being carried he wasn't supposed to be chatty. Meldresi usually picked him up when he wasn't listening and was being over-excited, so he was used to shutting up when being picked up.
When they reached the den, Cicero was put down. He looked at Burke and was going to say something, but then Burke said something else instead. Cicero opened his mouth to speak, but then he was nudged towards the den and instead of objecting or saying anything, he just waddled into the den, curled up along his siblings, and fell asleep.
