Julius looked even less thrilled, but he didn't say anything. The Alpha shuffled closer to the children, sifting through her memories for something happy. The last significant drama-free section of her life had been spent in Shar-Kali's pack, but even that hadn't ended well. Still, the pups didn't need to know that.
