Aesop could tell that they could easily continue like that, complimenting each other and deflecting in turn. He decided to be the one to break the chain, nosing Alastor in the shoulder and humming a noncommittal, "if you say so." The compliments and flattery were encouraging, though. Aesop was still unsure about his pronunciation, uncertain of whether he was stumbling over words or syllables. Already he knows that he'll have to practice.
