Pack howl for claiming. :) Everyone should post once -- those who do not participate can't claim the EXP. @Bazi @Kaskara @Kieran @Falwasi @Paarthurnax @Durnehviir @Relonikiv @Julius
The group had taken rest upon the Peak -- the travel had been long and tiring -- especially for the puppies. But new hope had lifted many of their spirits from the moment Paarthurnax had returned home to them, and while his mind weighed heavily on what that would mean for Trajan, who had chosen in te moment to live with his father, he knew he also had to take a step back once more in terms of decisions for the pack's youths.
Spring might have been warming the lands of Teekon Wilds, but winter still kept a grasp upon them. A light rain showered down upon the lands now, though the altitude of the mountain would shift the precipitation to wet flurries at times. Rather than nestle away from the chilly and damp weather, the cinnamon wolf embraced it -- his creamy paws found their way to a flat rock -- a place that would offer decent view over an even flatter expansion below it. The pack could gather here during meetings, and a small smile crept upon his muzzle.
During their short stay here, the pack continued to look around and explore -- to determine this was indeed the place for them to lay claim to. Today, though, Scimitar held no more doubt, and lifting his muzzle upward, he howled his claim over the land -- a full song that resounded his pride and beckoned his fellow pack mates to join in. They would let the world know that this was Nova Peak -- and it was theirs.

Kieran heard the howl, and though he was too far away at the moment, to get there quickly. He lifted his voice from where he was, and his deep lilting song, rang out over top of the peak. It was beautiful here and he enjoyed it. The things he could do here, Scimitar and Bazi's pups would be healthy here.
He had no doubt in his mind, they would have some. His call rang out, and as it faded he trotted towards Scimitar. Waiting to see if there would be a meeting too, or just a howl.

The world was much brighter and more colorful now that the snows had melted and spring had begun to creep into the wilderness. But when Relonikiv woke this morning, everything was a dull, drab gray. He felt tired despite a full night's sleep. He didn't bother venturing away from the rendezvous site, taking shelter beneath some nearby trees when the colorless sky began to weep cold rain on his pale back.
He was drowsing when Scimitar's familiar voice soared over the sound of rainfall. Relonikiv twitched awake, lifting his head and cupping his ears. He thought he understood the purpose of his foster father's call; it wasn't to summon his pack mates but to sing with them. He had not howled many times in his life and didn't feel confident in his skills, yet Relonikiv opened his mouth and poured out a short, tuneless melody.
When his breath failed him, he wormed his way beneath a nearby shrub to further avoid the rain. He then stretched out on his belly, his chin drifting to his paws, and fell asleep to the sound of his pack mates commemorating their stake on Nova Peak.

Bazi followed a little behind Scimitar on his quest through the rain, damp and battling mild nausea. The Arctic alpha much preferred snow, but the chill in the air was very much to her taste.
She was lost in a myriad of thoughts when Scimitar raised his muzzle to howl their claim. Here, so unceremoniously? Bazi frowned at his turned back, but quickly decided that it didn't really matter. He was seemed happy - settled (finally), and she would not take that away from him with petty remarks about time and place.
Bazi swallowed the ill feeling in her stomach and sidled up next to her lover, adding another voice to the fray.

She stood at the border that marked the new land, looking through the dense, never-ending evergreen that she was hopelessly in love with. The sharper weather favoured her over the drier climate of the Creek, but a familiar wave of nostalgia washed across her as she peered through the trees at her old home. What she could see of it.
A smirk crossed her face and she shook her head, ridiculing her emotions as she turned away from the border. Just as she did this, Scimitar's howl rung loudly from a point on the mountain, to which Falwasi instinctively tracked down, galloping across the pine-needle infested ground.
During her ascent, Kieran and Bazi's voices joined the song, to which her body throbbed with anticipation to arrive by their sides. Once she reached the flat expanse of land, she caught sight of her four pack-mates, howling as one. The long-legged wolf strode forward, an obvious and ambiguous smile creeping upon her features as she seated herself before the leaders who stood proudly atop an appropriate perch for their ranking. It was perfect.
Then she joined the choral, her own vivacious voice devoting to the crescendo of sound.

This may be short / bad. In a hurry and somewhat unfocused. <3
Everyone seemed happier. Scimitar and Bazi were happily together, though they still had yet to announce their mateship. Paarthurnax and the pups, minus Trajan, were here and about, growing and learning. Kieran was here, as happy as Kieran ever was, which wasn't saying much, but at least he was here. Falwasi seemed perkier than usual, like the trees and the forests had revived her somehow. She was healing quite well from the fight with Blackfeather wolves and the brightness of her eyes had returned.
Kaskara herself was happy, elated even, to have found a place to call her own. Scimitar had named it after their grandmother's home in the Salvajes, a place they had heard many grand and wondrous stories about in their youth. Kas smiled as she heard Scimitar lift his voice toward the heavens, claiming the peak as their own. As she wasn't far from the spot, she made her way there and watched as the others gathered and lifted their own voices; Bazi, Kieran, Falwasi, and even little Kiv, whose voice faded quickly. She hoped he would join their howls more often now that his mother had returned, but his lungs probably couldn't take the strain for now.
The pack howled together for a long while, their voices rising and falling as one or two had to drop out to catch a breath, and new voices joined in their song. They were calling for family. They were calling for joy. They were calling for home.

Their howls rose through the air -- strong, forceful and demanding. Relonikiv's youthful tenor stirred a twitch of a smile at the corner of his muzzle, and Bazi's own beautiful voice would only further spur the decision in his heart that this had been right for them.
Kieran, Falwasi and Kaskara echoed in as well -- their tunes rising in pride, and soon, as the voices began to simmer after a few moments of victory, Scimitar's own song lowered to a croon. His eyes skimmed his counterpart only momentarily, missing the fact she was put off by his choice of ceremony, and drifting from her, he scanned the horizon before them. The valleys lay at their paws below from their high peak -- and a rumble of satisfaction escaped him with a low growl.
Nova Peak had been born.
