Sima had traveled long and far. Miles and miles of traveling had brought her west to the Teekon Wilds, and even more had been trekked through an uninhabited expanse of beautiful valley. Since leaving her home a little more than a year ago and becoming a nomad, she had been casually searching for a companion, a friend, or more preferably, a pack. Until now, she would find none.
An upbringing of peaceful isolation, which she saw as a deathly-boring origin, had driven her to be determined for a journey of adventure and bravery. She despised monotony and would do anything to avoid it. To her, risk and danger were the spice of life, and she would accept nothing less.
A dark-pointed, gray-based wolf with a sturdy, medium frame embodied her as she continued west through the mountains. The pass seemed hazardous, but she had made the decision long ago to continue in the same direction until she found what she sought.
Her paws had callused from constant migration, and for that she was thankful upon seeing the roughness of the rocks. She climbed tirelessly up the incline, and after a few hours into the evening, she came to the highest elevation of the mountain. Hunger gnawed at her; she hadn't eaten in a couple of days. In the distance, she saw the foot of the mountain, and just past that, a flat plateau of woodland. In half the time as before, she made into the forest, but caught the scent of a foreign pack. She twitched her ears. Maybe she could join them?

welcome!
lasher had whispered of dante's ponderings to blue willow, careful to keep it from the prying ears of his young children. they need not spread what might only amount to disturbing rumours among the pack, whose ranks had dwindled considerably. mordecai and harlyn had departed in disgrace, but they had been deceptive adders. their betrayal reminded lasher quite poignantly of the way that peregrine had left the plateau, and he had hardened his heart against them for it.
the ecru druid paced himself upon his patrol, nostrils flaring at the loamy scent of the earth. tonight the win brought him a strange scent, and the wolf catalogued it before loping in the direction of its bearer.
she was petite next to his rangy form, a multi-hued bearer of silver and gunmetal. the woman's eyes were piercing, and she was silent. he met her eyes with a stare of his own, one that appraised, one that questioned, and raised his tail in a proud arc over his hips, demanding without words her respect, if not her fealty.

She had sensed him minutes before he came into view. He was clearly heavier than her, considering his size, but he wasn't a great, brawny wolf like she might have expected. His pelt was neutral, painted with earthen tones, and he seemed deep in thought from first glance. Immediate upon spotting her across the shallow ravine, he raised his tail over his back, questioning her stance.
Sima wasn't a fool. Being born in a pack, he knew when to submit to a wolf of higher status, for the sake of both safety and social acceptance, but her respect and reverence, both gradual, were bought with an ascertained sense of authority and, well, respectability.
While observing the stranger, the she-wolf didn't make any more movement than a subtle swish of her tail. The wind, cutting between them, brought a scent so heavily mingled with the trees of these woods that she was sure he resided here. She had seen the size of the plateau; no wolf could hold such a territory by himself. He must have company elsewhere, and he seemed to be of no low-rank.
Instead of submitting straight away, though she planned to, she set her gaze intently upon his face, anticipated the words she was about to speak. "I can assume you live here, can't I?" she said, slightly raising her nonchalant voice in order for him to hear her several meters away. She held no challenge in her tone, careful to let him decide her polarity.

taltos' eyes hardened as the woman trained her own upon his face. she held no challenge in the planes of her body, and yet her stare defined the intentions. the air of nonchalance draped 'round the woman brought him a step forward, and lasher pierced her gaze with his own, making no reply to the vague inquiry of her words. their ranks had dwindled, but blacktail deer plateau was not so desperate that they would take in a wolf committed to pressing back, upon the lands he ruled alongside his fellow leaders.
blue willow and dante would feel the same. lifting his chin, the druid kept his stare level, and it cooled each moment with the irritation her insolent presence on his borders wrought. he expected basic respect from his wolves, and those who intended to be. she gave not an inkling of this.
she was not a good fit for them; this became apparent when she refused to submit and he growled that she should immediately leave their borders. when the insulting woman had disappeared from their land, the beta turned with a crisp step and went to inform dante of what had transpired.
