The grey wolf came to the bottom of the mountain. The fog encircled around him, the cold touch him with icy fingers. There was a shiver sent up his spine, making him shudder. He had come here, because he thought this would be a great area to tell his next story. It was dark and cold, just like the story he wished to tell. He sent out a call, asking for anyone to come to him. And it was @Zaria who had given him the idea, so he hoped it was her who would answer his call.

Zaria heard the howl and she knew from which wolf it came from. She trotted forward, not having much to do. She did have the time to listen to a story. Locating Chaska was a bit harder with the mist. Zaria almost trotted against him, well at least she found him. She nudged him in greeting and then sat down before him. "Hellow," she greeted and nodded. She glanced over him and showed him a hint of a smile.

Chaska started as he felt a nudge, tensing slightly. But he relaxed to find the friendly face of Zaria. It was hard to see through the grounded cloud, though she was close enough so he could see her. She greeted him, and he greeted back.
"Hello to you" he replied in a nonchalant manner. Then he moved immediately onto the reason he asked her to be here. "I thought you might want to hear that story you wanted, since it was your idea. Are you up for it?" He guessed the answer would be yes, but even still, he asked.

Zaria felt a nudge in return normally she would snap but Chaska was pretty okay to be around. She liked that this pack only had a few numbers, less to keep up with and less she needed to be social with. She was a social creature of course, but too many wolves got on her nerves. The female sat down before Chaska, she used these stories also to learn new words and practice her speech.
A pleased smile came on her lips when it turned out Chaska was listening to her. Well she gave wonderful advise after all. Zaria was petty pleased with herself. "Yes, Zaria wants bad guy story," she returned to confirm it to Chaska.

He knew Zaria wanted a story, but he didn't expect to be this enthusiastic. He gave a nod with a smile, and sat on his haunches, then prepared his throat with a couple of coughs. Then, he began his new tale. And because of he vocabulary, he had rehearsed it a few times to be fit for her:
"This story begins several years before our last tale. In the same valley, next to the same coast, with the same river. Everything was peaceful. Except for one wolf. He was known to the rest of the tribe as the alpha's son, or as 'The Trickster'. He earned this title from his tricks. But none ever ended in harm. He would never do such a thing. As much as he loved to trick them, he would never hurt them, for he cared for them. His closest friend always sided with him when another asked the alpha's son about his tricks, and protected him from accusations. But that would all soon change, when a wandering lone wolf came upon them."

Zaria never really showed too much excitement in general but she did like listening to these stories since she could learn from them and they were the stories she had never gotten as a child. The lean girl shifted as she was sitting when the story was beginning. So it would be an exact backstory of the trickster. She already knew he would be tricked himself but maybe Chaska would give her some logic as to why he was such a trickster.
Already it was close to Zaria since she had been the Alpha's daughter. Just like the trickster in this story. She curled her tail around her front paws, curious as to what would happen. It was just an intro and Zaria's ears were pointed forward since she wanted him to go on. "More," she spoke after a brief pause.

Was it just him, or did the fog get thicker and colder? He felt shivers up his back and his legs, so he laid down on his belly with his fore paws laid out before his head. The fog, it made him feel afraid in some way. But he did not let that distract him, and he continued.
"This loner was by far one of the most beautiful wolves the trickster had laid eyes upon. Her fur seemed to glisten, her eyes sparkled. Every stride seemed effortless. Her figure was magnificent. As soon as she arrived, he had fallen for her. But she did not fall for him right away. She had heard of his tricks, and begged him to stop. And so he did. Or so she thought. For his best friend was too convincing, and every night, he went to trick someone. And just like always, his friend was there for him, turning everyone's accusations away. And so the she wolf never knew past his lies. Until one day, when he went too far."

Zaria perked up her ears when he spoke about a beautiful maiden. Zaria could identify herself with that character and with the trickster. Oh how wonderful she was. But she grew suspicious as the trickster wanted the female. So love was dangerous then? A soft frown furred her brow. Because the male kept on tricking people, still killing other wolves. No wonder this girl didn't want him. Did that mean others wouldn't want her because she was a trickster? Would she stop her trickster way for someone.
Zaria didn't have a friend that covered up for her, so she wasn't entirely sure what was going to happen next. But that was only exciting. She didn't feel the need to say more because it was clear that she was keenly listening to Chaska.

Something must have interested Zaria, because as he told his tale, her ears perked up. She must have been really into this story, and he was happy that someone was enjoying them. So he continued on:
"He and his friend grew more distant, and he soon did his tricks no more. His friend only had one feeling left. Jealousy. It struck him harder than anything ever had. He had to bring his partner in crime back. And there was only one way to do that." Chaska paused, hoping to add some drama to the fable. "On one fateful night, his friend had asked for him to meet in private. He told him that the love of his life was not who she said she was. At first, he would not believe him, and turned him away. But his friend had a plan. A plan that would change what he thought. He started staging it, and by morning, the she wolf would be gone." He stopped there, waiting for her response on it so far.

Zaria kept her green eyes and ears were focussed on Chaska because now the tale was getting really interesting. The female shifted a bit forward like she was able to hear it better, which was rather silly. She could be that little girl sometimes, she had only been a year old recently. The tip of her tail moved. So the trickster's friend was jealous? Now he was killing the love of the 'bad guy'. Zaria wanted a back story of the bad guy but now Chaska was making another bad guy out of the best friend. His motives were jealously though, and his villainous nature rubbed off on the in love Trickster.
"So tricker's friend villain," she then stated. In general she was rather enjoying this tale with murder and tricks. Zaria looked expectantly at the other, eager for more. Bet the trickster was turning evil now that this female he loved wasn't who she said she was.

It seemed he had gained even more of her attention, as she moved forward. Chaska nodded to her question, then continued.
"The next morning, the alpha's son woke up to an unusual smell. The scent of fresh blood. He followed it, only to find his father dead. And standing above him was the one he had originally loved, her fur stained with blood. His vision became red, his anger driving him mad. She pleaded him to stop, but it was too late. By the time he became himself again, she was gone from the world. Right after, his friend came in.
'I warned you of what would come' he spoke. The alpha's son now saw the truth, or at least what his friend wanted him to see. From then on, he saw all outsiders as a threat, and came back to his old tricks, with the help of his friend. He became cold, and despised anyone outside of his pack. Many years later, these tricks would be his downfall."
The grey wolf took a breath and let out with a whoosh.
"That is the end of my tale. What do you think of it?" he asked curiously, his eyes expectant as they looked over the wolfess for any sign that would show how she felt about it.

Zaria's frown slowly turned deeper and deeper since she wasn't completely getting the story. Because now there was suddenly a father, but then he died. But the girl killed him... the girl the trickster loved... so the girl was the trickster and the trickster was not the trickster and the friend was the villain and then the trickster killed the one he loved??? This was all very complicated for Zaria to understand. She looked looked and then back up again, confusion clear on her face as she tired to process the story.
"Zaria no like," she then spoke and looked at Chaska. "I wanted to know why villain was villain but now villain backstory has new villain," she spoke and tipped her head a bit. She licked her muzzle, she was a critical listener and it also showed her true intellect. "This explain-ent Zaria tricker's friend is true villain. But why this villain bad? So... Every Villain has own Villain?," she asked. Did that also mean that some villains were just villains without any reason. Was she a villain with out reason? Why did she like to poison others and see them suffer? This was a good question Zaria decided.

Sorry if Zaria does not understand. Had a rough week
How could Chaska explain it simply? He pondered over the question in his head over and over, but his mind was just as clouded as the fog around them. Though he soon had the answer he was looking for.
"He was bad because of jealousy. He wanted his friend to be with him more, and so framed the outsider...Maybe I should change the story around, to make it easier to understand. And yes, sometimes a villain must have an enemy of their own. Sometimes, one becomes something because they were changed by someone exactly like what they change into." He paused, giving an apologetic look with his ears folding down to the sides of his head. "I'm sorry if you did not like it." And he was. He did not mean to confuse her.

No no!! I understood! It was just Zaria who didn't haha. If she would get the story fully it might not be too realistic! :D
Zaria looked at Chaska and watched how he struggled with getting his words out, just like her. She understood that he wanted to make it more simple for her. Zaria appreciated this greatly and listened once more. So the male confirmed that sometimes a villain had a mother villain too. A soft hum came from her lips as she understood. It made sense now because if she was a villain then her villain was probably her father. She started nodding. "Zaria get now," she spoke.
"But learn new words! So Zaria happy," she added. The story was good, just like the last one, only this one could use a bit of improvement. But she was pretty sure Chaska hadn't told a story from this perspective. "Next story about Rabbit and how murder!," she let out. "Bad ending. Can Chaska do bad ending?"

last from me, unless you want to continue a bit more
Chaska nodded while chuckling lightly. He then replied to her.
"That's good to hear. And of course I will. With the bad ending, maybe. We'll just have to see."
For some reason, it was like talking to a young one. He remembered when he would talk to his mother in such ways. But never his father. He didn't care too much for his father. Just thinking about him put a frown on his face, and he rarely thought of him. He had never been around, and when he was, he was always stern. Too stern for Chaska's liking. He was never really fond of him.
September 10, 2015, 06:46 AM
Sure we can end it! Then you can have your trade!! :D
If Zaria would have known Chaska compared talking to her to talking to a child she would be very offended, she was trying very hard. Though luckily for the grey male the female didn't realize any of it. She then nodded to him in return. "Next time then. Zaria go protect now," she spoke and wished him goodbye. She liked being critical and she had the feeling she could be critical towards Chaska without offending him. The slender girl disappeared into the mist, realizing she had duties to do.
