Blackfeather Woods Let's get beefy!

Mostly for @Burkeor @Peridot(mayeh??) but anyone can join!

Ever since he had come to this dark woods, he had grown slightly interested with it. It wasn't the best place to live, but at least he had things to do. He had been reunited with his sister, which was an awkward confrontation. He had almost forgotten about her when he was away. Lusa had also been teaching the two children about Moon and the French language. He really grown to like the sessions with his mother. Listening to her stories were very interesting.

His mother had let him and Peridot go out, as long as they didn't stray to far. "Bonjour, comment allez-vous?", he said to himself. He was told that he should talk French to himself everyday to speak it fluently. He started to trot a little faster, saying random words in French. This was a day he felt more cheerful.

To be let out again was always great, even more when she got permission to do so. With the return of her brother she's been very distracted during sessions with mother. Her attention was all over him. Someone her size to play with, someone familier. No doubt it was her brother but she was unsure of his name. Mother called him Chevalier but he was caling himself Leo. It confused her since she just couldn't understand why.

It didn't matter, they were outside! Peridot was happy and was bouncing around with all the energy she had. But Chev wasn't showing so much excitment. He still had his head in the french mother was teaching but she wanted him to play now. The session was over, time for fun!

She jumped ahead and responded to the words she heard. "Je vais bien, et toi?" She said as she turned to face him. More than anything she wanted to play with him. "Come on the session is over! Let's fight!" She said while she got into a playful stance. Then she pounced at him without a moment wasted "Roar!". She aimed for his ear so she could pull on it a little and with her paws she would give him a few whacks before jumping back as a retreat, if that was possible.

He smiled when he heard his sister's voice. It seemed like was the only fun one around here. "Je fais bien." He was glad that Peridot had followed him. He started to become a bit scared in these dark woods alone. Two was better than one.

When the lighter wolf went into a play stance, he did as well. He didn't expect the fast move, so when she lunged at him, he yipped with shock and excitement. Tiny teeth met his ear and a he got a paw to the face. He growled playfully, nipping roughly at the back of her neck. How he loved to play!

Retreating didn't work as well as she wanted but that didn't matter now that Chev was playing along. She shoved him away by pushing him with her paws so she could escape and run away. "Come on Chevalier!" She said using his real name. "Maybe we can find a rabbit and catch it!" She dashed to the last place she remembered catching the scent.

This place was also the same place where that cougar attacked. Peridot felt like she needed to be a little cautious. What if there was another one? She would have to stand against it and give everything she had while Chev goes get help. She took a look at her surroundings, It would seem a clear. Alrighty! She quickly shifted to hunting the rabbit mode. She wasted no time trying to find it. Could say she nearly forgot about her brother, She was really focused on trying to find a rabbit.

His triumph was short lasted before he was shoved of. He growled playfully, "Hey, no fair!" Technically it was. All is fair in love and war! When his sister declared that they go hunt rabbit, he nodded quickly. "Yeah!"

He was quick to run after his sister, who was blazing through the woods. He was slightly slower, for he wasn't used to the trees in the way. When he got to their destination, he saw his sister close to the ground. He flopped to the side and sat close to Peridot. "Where is it Peri?"

"Sshhhh." She said in response to the noise he was making. At the very least she knew that hunting require slience but also she didn't want to come across another one of those clawed creatures. She whispered to her brother while they were in the cover of some fallen branches. "There might be something trying to hunt us. You have to be very quiet." Then she proceeded forward. She stayed low and then lifted her nose into the air to see if she could catch the scent of something. The scent of that cougar still lingered weakly. Peridot knew it was dead but she still couldn't help feel a little scared.

She turned to her brother and whispered again. "There was this big clawed creature that came here and attacked. Together with the adults we took it down easily. Said with a bit of pride. "They called it, a cougar! and there might be more." Now she was trying to scare her brother a little.

Back to hunting a rabbit. "Lets keep going." she moved farther and farther away from the den as she searched for a trail of a rabbit. She had yet to be lucky but that didn't stop her from continuing. She remained low and moved slowly yet silently hoping that Chev is doing the same.

When his sister told him to stay quiet, he quickly obeyed. He didn't want her to be mad at him. Besides, she was the expert here. He did a puzzled expression when she told him something may be hunting them. Hunting them? Wolves were kings and queens of the wild, nothing could hurt them!

Leo followed his sister quietly, growing antsy. He wanted to hunt so badly! When his sister spoke of a creature with big claws a shiver ran down his spine and his eyes widened. "That's sounds really scary!" he whispered. He wouldn't want to go near a thing like that.

He walked with great caution through the woods. He didn't like the darkness, and he wondered if his sister felt the same. "Peridot, do you like it here?" he asked quietly.

She felt brave. At this moment she didn't have to face a problem so there was nothing to worry about. If something did happen she would be the one responsible. She was ready to take on the world due to the excitment of hunting. "It's either run or do something." She said as she continued to lead him to grounds she didn't know. Basically at this point she was leading without knowing where she was going but she was focused on rabbit hunting.

They stopped at a large rock, she stood on top and looked around with her eyes. Then Chevalier asked her a question, one that she never thought of. She couldn't really say much, she's been here her whole life without ever leaving pack territory. "mmmmm I think it's great out here. There is so much to see and smell! I always want to go a little farther than last time everytime I get let out!" As she spoke she was getting louder. Too loud to the point that a rabbit suddenly dashed in front of them. "Rabbit!" She instantly chased after it. A rush with no plan but simply run after it to catch it.

So his sister liked it here then. He wondered why. Why of all places did she choose this place. But then again, Blackfeather was the only place she saw. She did not get to see the world beyond the woods. Out there, there was so much more. More sights and smells. But the best thing was light. Lusa told them light was bad, but to him it was amazing. It was mysterious and wonderful warmth.

Leo wanted to tell her about the light, but her noise had scent the rabbit packing. His blood rose with adrenalin as he chased after his sister. He preferred to follow his sister's footsteps because she seemed to know more than him. She was totally the smartest wolf in the world. As they chased the furry creature, the creamy boy could feel his paws tire. He became slower and slower, until he stopped and flopped on the ground with a heavy sigh. His tongue lolled lazily to his side. His body felt like resting, but he forced himself up to waddle after his sister in a much slower pace.

Her mind was completely focused on the rabbit, everything else didn't exist anymore. Both her and the rabbit were going so fast that even Peridot looked like a white dashing rabbit. The chase didn't last that long. Although she managed to slowly catch up to it the rabbit dashed into a hole. Peridot flew right over it and had to turn around. She was out of breath but that didn't stop her from sticking her head into the hole in the ground. The rabbit is in there, She knows it!

She was too big to get in there. Her reflex was to start digging to make the hole bigger. Every few seconds she would poke her head in in attempted to get hold of the rabbit. After a minute there was still nothing. She was getting frustrated. She dug a little more, basically getting half her body into the ground. Then she saw a light at the end of the tunnel. Oh no! did that mean..

Peridot pulled out and walked to the other side of the tunnel. The rabbit had escape a long time ago and she just realised it. She just noticed her brother and was little disappointed in him. He didn't help in anyway, did he just get here? But she decided to not blame him. She figured maybe he wasn't ready for this sort of thing. Peridot had her running practices and is used to the swampy areas and woods. Was Chev not used to them? "The rabbit got away.." She said in a disappointed tone but then switched to a happier more motivation one. "We need more practice!"

When Leo caught up, he saw his sister's head in the ground. Her head had disappeared under the dirt and her body stuck up. In his eyes, she looked silly. He had to keep in the giggles. had he looked like that when he dug in the den with Scarlett and the others?

Just like his sister, Leo didn't see the creature make a break for it. When his sister came out of the hole, he went in, seeing its exit. The little lion pulled out and looked at his sister. "Yeah! Burke can teach us, but he's not very nice to me..." He wasn't fond of the scary Alpha. He didn't know what he did to deserve the hate from him.
