Official claiming thread. All pack members should reply at least once with their own howl. Welcome to NWF! @Eshe @Kaskara @Kieran @Kyron @Goldhawk @Pasha
They had lingered within the area long enough to determine they would settle fully. The Mountain wolves had not deterred the Frostfur, though he had looked to his mate and family silently to see if they were put off by their neighbor’s presence. As far as he was concerned, the three wolf lengths given to allow any Teekon Wild inhabitants (let alone a mountain wolf) safe passage without worry to trespass was a fair move, and from here on out, he was eager to see even less of the Silvertip Mountain wolves. With their borders solidified and their minds made up, Scimitar found his way to a small grove, his chest thrumming with the anticipation of what was to occur. For over a year now he had longed to return to these forests – damning the day he had left to find Chakra and allowing the pack to initially crumble. But had he not, it was likely he would not have met Bazi, and thus his children would not be in existence – it was likely he would not have met Eshe. It was impossible to regret such decisions, but now, with the forest floor beneath his pale paws, the large wolf swept his muzzle up, his song crying out to his fellow wolves.
He called of their claim – official as it was. Eshe would be by his side in moments, he held no doubt, but he also called his comrades to join his song. They could join him – or howl from their whereabouts. Either way, it was official – Neverwinter Forest was theirs.

Entirely by fate or fortune, Goldhawk had become a soldier of Neverwinter. It had not been in his considerations or even in his eyeline, but near-death had led to life, which had led to friendship, which had led to an unexpected home. There was action here aplenty, with the potential of threat to all borders — they would be kept on their toes, not left to frolic and snooze. That suited Goldhawk well. This was the pack that had saved him, and so they had earned his loyalty without question. And so once he heard the claim of both Alphas, he added his own howl to the growing symphony, sitting upright with his golden muzzle thrust heavenwards and his heart full of promise.

The moment had come!
She had felt it this day, earlier; and then she promptly doubled her efforts at managing the borders so that they would be marked sufficiently. And it seemed her mate, too, thought the deed as good as done... and it was, wasn't it? Eshe heard him, and swiftly moved toward the call. Eshe herself threw her head high and howled right along with those of Neverwinter, so happy for all that were a part of them. Each wolf was dear to her heart already, and she was as loyal to them as they were loyal to her.
In no time she made it to her mates side, and her call died. Another one came, higher in pitch, instinct prompting the change in song, and her octaves changed now and then to play in the art of deception and make the few sound like many. No doubt it would confuse any to hear their song and wonder at the number they held; by the sound of it, as the others altered their voices, it would make any think they held a good, strong number. Eshe thought so regardless.
To hear the voices of her wolves warmed her heart. When the call quieted, Eshe looked to her mate with a grin.

We did it,she murmured, hardly believing it herself.

Whatever became of their neighbors to the northwest, Kaskara was glad they had decided to settle in neverwinter. Her brother's heart was here, and now that their family had found its home here, she intended to stay. She and her husband often joked there would be no more moving for Kieran's aging bones, and while they joked, there was some truth to it. He was getting too old to travel farther than a day or two at a time, and having a home base to permanently call home was what they truly longed for. And now they had it.
Kaskara raised her voice along with Scimitar, Eshe, Goldhawk, Kieran, Pasha, and Kyron, laying claim once and for all to the neverwinter forest. No one would be able to take this away from them, not now. And if the mountain wolves had issue with that, then let them try to oust them. They'd have another thing coming.

Kyron was a loner, both literally and figuratively. He was as anti-social and awkward as it got; he had no idea how to react in social situations and listened more often than talked. Inures a a party or a gathering, you would often find him by the walls and the shadows, trying to blend in and hide, that is, if he was even attending at all. But wolves were social creatures at heart, and despite that, Kyron craved companion, comfort and affection. Neverwinter, as a family oriented pack, suited him well enough and the longer he stayed, the more he realised that this was a good decision.
Neverwinter Forest had earned his loyalty, and Kyron knew that now, this was his new home and hopefully would still be his home in the coming months, years. Maybe he'll even end up having a family here; who knew? For now though, Kyron was content to serve as a guardian, a soldier, whatever he needed to be. They had offered him a home, a new family, a new start. He was going to whatever they needed him to do; he would serve, and he would do it with a glad smile.
When the claiming howl sounded through the air, Kyron gladly raised his own red muzzle, adding his voice to theirs and singing their claim for all to hear. This was now theirs and he would defend this land and it's inhabitants even if it costed him his life. They were strong, united.

Kieran heard the howls and he raised his muzzle and joined in with his own throaty call. He started towards the largest amount in the same vicinity hoping to find Kaskara. He heard her heartfelt howl among the others. He wasn't sure all that was going to happen, but he was glad to have a home. He also knew that this was a last stop for him. He wasn't a young buck anymore and it was time to settle down for good. He hoped this would be it, no more moving and they could inter his bones in the ground when all was said and done.

Last post. No need to respond again but leaving the thread open in case anyone else wants to!
The pack called out – all but his son, who it was possible was not within the vicinity for the moment. He did not worry for the moment, noting he would seek out Pasha later and see how the boy was doing. He was unsure of what the youth truly thought of him and Eshe together as a pair – it was a conversation he dreaded.Eshe’s words drew him from his thoughts, and he offered her a smile. “We did,” he offered with a low rumble, bridging the small distance between them as he swept her in his embrace. Curling his muzzle about her nape in a gentle hug, he inhaled sharply – the heady scent of Eshe, pine and forest stirred a sense of longing within him. “We’re home.”
Pulling away, he cast a playful nip to his mate's cheek before beginning to lope toward the ehart of the terrain -- soon, they would need to scout out a decent den.

His hug was reciprocated, and she held tight to him, her own senses flooded as his were. This was home, their home, a place Scimitar had been to in his youth before there was anyone. A place he loved, had always loved; and it was with her he decided to share it with. Eshe pressed her face into his shoulder, overwhelmed by the novelty of it all. And as he spoke of them being home, she knew it to be so, because he stood here beside her. Home was wherever he was, Eshe recognized. Home was his happiness and his sadness, his aggravations, his questions, his smile, his touch, his eyes. He was the safe and sure structure of home; tested and tried but still standing. She breathed into him, overjoyed,
And when he pulled away, she smirked, moving to return the nip but he had moved out of reach. Eshe bounded toward him to match his stride, nipping at him again now that he was at her side once more with a grin before sprinting ahead.
We sure are,
