I swear to God if I never see a goose again, I'll be happy the rest of my days. The annoyed white wolf was trotting along, having failed at catching the plump grey goose she had planned to store in the pack cache. It had gotten a good hard peck to her head before it flew away, leaving her rubbing at the sore spot with a scowl.
When the wind shifted it brought the promising scent of raccoon, one who had recently birthed too. Licking her chops she followed along, finding the den in a narrow tree trunk. The mother appeared to be out, probably eating from a small store of food nearby. Perhaps she could track her down after getting the babes nestling within the tree.
But first, to get them out. The hole the mother used as an entrance was slightly above her head, too high for the short female. She would have to dig her way in. Letting out a sigh she dug her paws into the silty, rocky soil. The things she did for food.

Eslani watched in interest as the stranger pawed into a nest of raccoon. It did something much like what she had done with the final to rabbits hanging from her jaw. She wished to meet this new member, for what pack did not know all of its members?
The bloody raven watched with interest as the girl dug. There were a few errors in her digging technique, but she did well, mostly. The delta almost envied how the female was not bothered by the dirt in her white coat, as it would have driven Eslani to insanity.
Like she did with every interesting meeting, she left the shadows to enter the glowing daylight, the fire in her coat glowing like the sun.

Ack...super short post.

The dirt began to coat and stick to her ivory fur, staining it a dirty brown. That was of little matter a good wash in the lake would clear that up in a jiff. She hummed along as she dug, which might have seemed a bit morbid seeing as she was currently digging up some baby racoons to kill.
Her ear twitched as she heard a noise behind her, a soft rustling. She didn't bother turning around as she could smell it was another wolf and not an intruder either. "If you're a ghost, please sod off. I'm not in the mood today. If you happen to be another pack member feel free to join me," she called over her shoulder as she continued to dig.
Her tone wasn't meant to be rude, instead it came off as playful and sarcastic. The near four year old wolf was enjoying herself in the sooty dirt and wouldn't mind company.

The fiery raven chuffed to her and chuckled before trotting out. "Eslani, Delta." She spoke quickly, wanting to get straight to work. The woman dug quickly, and Eslani joined, dropping the last two of eight rabbits on the ground. She
kept a steady digging pace, and was able to scoop out large amounts of dirt with her long legs. As they neared the prey, she stopped, allowing the female to take what was rightfully her kill, for she wouldn't interrupt.
Eslani had been filling the caches like mad lately, so there was no reason for her to take another wolf's kill. Rabbits, birds, voles, mice, and other waited in the caches to be eaten. Proud of her work, Eslani raised her head with a smile and grabbed, once again, the rabbit mother and one of its kits.
"New around here? I mean, I guess we all are." Her voice was a bit muffled to do the fur between her teeth, but her words were relatively easy to hear.

She nodded in Eslani's direction as she dug, "Lunar Eclipse. Luna is what I go by though, that other crap is too long. Zeta." The hole was soon dug and Eslani moved back to her rabbit and kits.
Lunar's smaller paws made it easier to reach in and grab the baby raccoons who whimpered softly at the lack of warmth. She began to crush the tiny bodies between her powerful jaws before laying them down in a pile. Once all dead she answered the girl's question.
"Yeah, knew here I suppose. I'm from Phoenix Maplewood, Reek's old pack." She gave a small shrug,"What about you? Where did you come from?"

"I come from places you don't want to imagine...speaking of places, have you met any tall chocolate females? Maybe one with a silver spot on her forehead like mine?" Eslani had been told that her elder sister wore the same lineage birthmark as she, and Eslani was determined to find her. Kindly or not, Eslani would find her 'beautiful' older sister and figure out her ways. The raven cocked her head, almost playfully but mostly curious, something she was not often.

"No, sorry. I mean I know some brown females but none with silver spots on their foreheads," she wished she could have helped but she didn't know this wolf that Eslani was talking about.
What did she mean by places you don't want to imagine? Perhaps she had an upbringing similar to Lunar's but that was not of issue to the arctic wolf. She knew better than to pry.
"I hope you find them,"she told the ebony female sincerely.

Eslani shrugged but gave a soft smile. "Meh, it's not to big of a deal." Though it was. It very much was. She gurenteed her sister had found a pack by now, and Eslani wondered what rank such a useful female would snatch...hm, probably a delta like herself. Of course, Eslani didn't know, as she had only heard stories of her superb sister. Inside, she scoffed. Her pack had always told stories about her wisdom and modesty, so Eslani eventually grew sick of it. Fallenstar this, Fallenstar that. No wolf should be judged by their pup years, Eslani knew this for a fact.

The female seemed deep in thought about something, no doubt the person she was looking for. She nodded in response. "Alright, well I'm gonna go look for Mrs. Raccoon if you want to come with me," She offered as she stood, gathering the handful of dead kits.
She gave Eslani a nod just in case she decided not to follow before setting off to find the mother of the dead young. Her fur was bloodied as well and she considered a bath after storing these dead creatures in the cache.
