AW, but please let @Shalon post first. Sorry I didn't get this up last night!
She was bored. All the adults seemed to be off doing... adult stuff, and Adeline grew bored with chasing insects around the clearing she resided in. Her eyes scanned the woods beyond, a place she had gone into a couple times, but always with adult supervision. Her ears flicked back in annoyance. Well, if they could go off into the woods and play alone, so could she!
Her mind set, she bolted off like a thief in the night, who had just stolen her own freedom. A grin plastered to her face as she raced through the thick undergrowth of the home she hadn't gotten to fully explore. This was so much fun! Why hadn't she done it before?
Before she knew it, she was at the borders of Silvertip Mountain, though she didn't know that. The smells that overwhelmed her little nose brought her to a stop so that she could sniff them out and investigate. They were all familiar to her, but she wondered why they were all in this one spot. So focused on this, Adeline wasn't concerned with her surroundings, or who might be approaching her.

No worries!
Shalon was on her way out the territory, her visit with Steady over and done with. Until next time anyway. She too arrived at the border of the Silvertip Mountain, however she was not the first to arrive it seemed. There was al little fur ball very close to the edge of the land Shalon assumed she called home. Her scent was similar to Steady, she was awfully cute.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you." Shalon stated simply a small smile on her face. She had heard stories from her mother from when she was young and small. However she had never met a pup. And wasn't exactly sure what the small creature was doing. It must know how dangerous the world must be... right? Especially to a pup so small. Shalon would approach the girl slowly, although maintained a firm distance, she didn't want to frighten the thing, but she also wasn't sure how the rest of the pack would feel knowing how close their child had come to a stranger. Even if this stranger was a friend of Steady.

hope you don't mind if I hop in, Anita has yet to meet Adeline!
Anita was on yet another stroll, breathing in the fresh air. Well, fresh air was technically all around her, but she did enjoy a bit of silence. However, that was interrupted when she heard an unfamilar voice. Though she liked her quiet time, she wasn't irked by this voice. Being social was another option -- and a great one.
Much to her surprise, there seemed to be both a new she-wolf and a pup. Adeline. The two hadn't formally met, but how formal could you get when meeting a pup? Anita sauntered up behind Shalon, her brow raised. "And what do you find yourself doing out here, all alone?" Anita mused, flashing a smile towards Adeline. She wasn't sure whether or not she was allowed out alone, but figured that it probably wasn't advised.
She glanced at Shalon, curious. Anita was a slightly on guard, careful to watch if the lone wolf made any attempts to hurt Adeline. It didn't seem that way though, letting Anita ease off a bit. Perhaps this stranger was just taking a walk around, with no malcious acts at mind.
July 22, 2016, 05:56 PM
A voice reached her ears, and Adeline jumped in surprise, her head jerking in the direction of the female wolf. The pup flattened herself on the ground as if she had just been scolded. She had never seen this female before, but she was coming out of the packlands, so she must have been a pack mate. Adeline knew she was in trouble, as she knew she wasn't supposed to leave the clearing by herself.
Before she could form a response, a movement caught her eye. Another wolf, another one she hadn't met. Oh man, she was in big trouble. They were both smiling, though, instead of looking grumpy at her like they were mad. Her head lifted a bare few inches off the ground. I got bored and decided to explore, she said honestly. Adeline may have bent the rules by leaving, but she was no liar.

Shalon turned her head slightly watching the female approach, the scent of the Silvertip pack strong on her pelt. It appeared as if she would meet the whole pack in her first visit. She would nod her head toward the female, greeting her in a friendly manner she seem kind enough. So it appeared the little critter had run off without adult permission.
"You got bored? Well that's no good. Although I should warn you little missy, the outside world is no place for a pup on her own. No matter how strong you are, you need a pack to support you. No?" Shalon knew the danger of a grown wolf alone in the wilderness, she wouldn't want to know what happens to pup who venture away from home. "Perhaps you can find something else to keep you occupied?" Shalon knew that when she was younger her and her brother were constantly practicing for adult life, she had a few games that they used to play but they were few and far between. Like tag, or nose the pincone, or chase!
Turning her head slightly the introduced herself to the other woman, "I am Shalon by the way, a friend of Steady's. I mean her no harm." Shalon didn't want her to get the wrong impression, she would never hurt one so young, especially coming from a pack she would like to consider a friend.

She gazed at Adeline sympathetically--being of the scout trade, she knew what it felt like to want to explore. "Thank you for your honesty. I'm not going to scold you, but just remember it's dangerous to go out alone," Anita spoke, hoping to still give a subtle warning to the pup. "And trust me, I know what it feels like to want to get out there," she said in a softer tone to the pup, a grin on her face.
Anita looked up as she heard the other she-wolf speak. A friend of Steady's? That brought comfort to Anita, knowing that a friend of her Alpha would never meen any malintent. "Nice to meet you, I'm Anita," she introduced herself with a dip of her head. "Of course, thank you for catching Adeline here. Who knows how far she could have wandered off." Anita was truly gracious. Had Shalon not caught her here, Adeline could have wandered off and gotten hurt.

The stranger female saw fit to chastise her for being away from the den on her own because she got bored. Adeline's ears flicked back on her head in displeasure as Shalon told her she should try to find something else to occupy herself. That's what I was trying to do! Duh!
Then the other female wanted to tell her she was wrong, too, and Adeline's displeasure grew. I'm not alone! You two are here! she pointed out, very much thinking that solved all of this. The two adults began to talk about her as if she wasn't here, and Adeline decided she would simply ignore them right back. So, putting her nose to the ground, she went back to taking in all the different scents on the border.

Shalon smiled slightly, a tip of her head acknowledging the thanks from the other woman. "No need to thank me, it was a coincidence really." Shalon turned her attention back to the pup infront of them. "Now tell us Adeline?" Shalon imagined that was her name as Anita had called the girl as such. "Now that we are here," She motioned toward Anita including her in the fun. "What are we going to do? Surly you can have more fun with more wolves." Shalon wasn't sure what games Adeline liked to play and so would leave it up to the small girl. Shalon could do with some fun and games before setting of home.

Anita smiled back, still thankful despite that she had caught Adeline though it was merely by chance. "Well, I suppose I'm grateful for coincidences," she grinned, glancing at Adeline. The pup was sniffing the ground and Anita decided not to ask. Instead, she listened as Shalon spoke.
Anita nodded. She was always up for having fun and playing around. The girl thought it was a much better choice than scolding Adeline and walking her back home. Besides, she didn't want the pup to despise her either, which she may of if Anita had chosen the latter of choices. The other she-wolf seemed to have some things in mind anyway, to which she wouldn't argue against. She had already gained Anita's trust by keeping Adeline from wandering off. Realizing she didn't even know who this lone wolf was, she turned to Shalon in a friendly manner.
"Sorry, I don't think I caught your name," Anita queried, a friendly smile on her face.

She eyed the stranger ruefully, until she brought up the fact that the more wolves were around, the more fun she could have. It hadn’t really occurred to her, since the days of her brothers and sister being here were shoved to the back of her memories as it made way for news ones. Then, her eyes lit up, sparkling as she realized what she wanted to do. Let’s play hide and seek! she said excitedly. Suddenly, her body leapt towards the other female, Anita, and she tried to bump her nose against her. You’re it! she said, before running off. She was confusing tag with hide and go seek, but she was going to go hide.
She ran into the bushes, pushing past them, and turning left, then right before picking a spot in a hollow log. She wasn’t nearly as small as she was when she played this game before, and she fit snuggly into the log, but hiding was hiding. Her ears swiveled, waiting for someone to come find her.

SORRY! Omg.... I'm so bad! :P I did mention my name @Anita, in my 2nd, the 5th one in the sequence.
Shalon was slightly confused by the little pup, hide and seek, a very valuable game, teaching one how to hide from an enemy. But this was not the game Adeline had set out to play, rather TAG was what she was looking for. Shalon didn't say anything though, instead she chuckled to herself and watched as she ran for the trees.... perhaps this was a hybird of the two games? Shalon could see the educational benefit to the game. She looked to Anita with a smile, "I'll give you 15 seconds to hide." A grin slowly spread across her face.
"1, 2, 3, 4, 5...." Shalon had closed her eyes, giving Anita the advantage. If she caught either of them they could run, and she would have to try and catch them. "...6, 7, 8, 9, 10..." She tried not to peak, but it had been so long since she had played any game. "...11, 12, 13, 14...." Scenting the air slightly trying to catch a drift of where they might have gone, Shalon took a deep breath, "....15!" She opened her eyes with a snap.

woops, sorry about that!
The last thing she had remembered before Adeline scampered off was that she had been chosen for... something. Honestly, she had no idea if they were playing tag or hide-and-seek; perhaps it was some sort of combination of the two. Anita could hear Shalon counting down again, and the familiar, childish rush of excitement caused her to run out of there as fast as she could. The girl traipsed throughout the area, looking left and right for a good place to hide. It was at this point she cursed her blazing red pelt, wishing it was autumn rather than summer. She spotted a log, the panic of the moment letting the strong scent of Adeline pass her by completely. She stuck her head in to see the small pup snuggled up inside, obviously intent on making this her hiding spot.
15. Shalon's voice rang out and Anita stifled a curse, about to run off somewhere else. After a few tugs, she realized her head was stuck in the log, this time not being able to stifle the foul language that streamed from her mouth in a low but distinguishable tone. "Oh shit, oh, shit, sorry ," she muttered, attempting to pull her head from the log. How did she think she'd be able to fit in the first place?
Now she was not only going to be caught, but she may even blow Adeline's cover too.
August 15, 2016, 02:28 PM
It seemed like ages that she hid, but it was mere seconds before a thump caused her to open her eyes, seeing Anita in the end of the log. Oh, shit! Oh, shit! Adeline repeated, realizing that the female's head was stuck. She could help but giggle at the sight as Anita struggled to get out.
She crawled over to Anita's head, and attempted to put her front paws on her forehead and tried to push her out. She wasn't sure if this was going to work, being as small as she was, but she tried anyways. The game was forgotten as a new one emerged: Who could get Anita unstuck first?!

As Shalon opened her eyes she couldn't see Anita, glad that she too would join in the game. She looked around, she could smell Anita and Adeline. Perhaps hide and seek wasn't the best game to play when one could smell the path taken by the hiders. Slowly she ventured into the woods, as she wandered around, she heard the faint voice of Adeline, "Oh shit...." Shalon's eyes widened with amusment, how had the girl learned such terrible language.
Turning around Shalon found a sight to behold. Anita's head was stuck in a log.... Shalon couldn't help herself a chuckle escaped her, which turned in to full blown laughter. She approached the woman, and poked her side...."You're it." She joked, although Anita couldn't see it, Shalon had a bright smile on her face. "How did you get your head stuck?" She was at a loss of what to do to help. Shalon also had no clue where Adeline was, her scent had lead here, but she couldn't see the girl in the immediate area.

She cringed as Adeline gleefully repeated the foul language she had said before. "Adeline...for future reference, don't say that," Anita laughed, giving the pup a lick on the nose. The she-wolf suddenly remembered that they were playing a game, and she was about to lose.
Shalon was coming, by the smell of it, and if Anita could run she would have. Unfortunately, the girl was stuck in a log like an idiot, with Adeline's tiny paws pushing on her forehead in attempts to get her unstuck. Nothing seemed to be happening, much to her dismay. A poke to the side made her jump as much as she could while being stuck inside a log. She had heard Shalon laughing earlier, and realized that she was probably humored by the spectacle of a full-grown female being trapped by a log. Anita blushed, glad for the log to be covering her face. It was -- for the lack of a better word -- pretty stupid.
"My head got stuck because...I tried to climb into this damn log." Her voice echoed loudly in response to Shalon's question. Another curse for Adeline to drink up and repeat in the future, this time probably in front of someone like Steady. "If you dont mind, can you help me out?" she laughed nervously, scrambling in attempts to free her herself. No luck. However, with the combination of Adeline and Shalon, she was sure she'd have a chance.

Adeline cocked her head a little to the side when Anita instructed her no to say that. Adeline wasn't aware there were words that she wasn't supposed to say, as she generally learned from the adults. Plus, no one had told her that before. If they could say it, why couldn't she?
The moment was interrupted by Shalon, and Adeline began to giggle again at Anita's situation. What's a damn log? she asked, curious, as she had never heard that term before. Shalon! You pull, I'll push! she said, having a good time at Anita's expense. If Shalon agreed, Adeline would being pushing on Anita's head again, and hopefully they could get her out.

Shalon heard the small voice of Adeline in the log, which in turn helped to fuel her amusment. She refrained from laughing more however resorted to small snickering. Shalon heard Adeline curse, and shook her head slightly, hopefully Steady wouldn't be to mad... she was bound to learn them eventually right? For now she would ignore the curse from Adeline, she wasn't one to be discipline to a pup not of her pack. Shalon was sure Anita could handel it.
Of course she came a little closer, more serious, looking for a way to get Anita out. Shalon didn't want to hurt the poor woman. And so she was at a loss of what to pull on. Her tail? Surely that would hurt. Althought that was all she could see! "Of course I'll help you Anita." She smiled as she came to stand behind the woman. "Alright Adeline, here we go." She assumed the small girl was pushing, so Shalon pulled on the females tail.

Anita grimaced as once again, Adeline repeated her foul language. What's a damn log? She couldn't help but let a small laugh escape from her lips. "It's a...very complicated expression, I wouldn't say it because not everyone will get it," she muttered, lying through her teeth. Maybe if she just avoided the question, Adeline would drop her interest in the matter. Well, that was wishful thinking.
She sighed in relief at Shalon's response, happy to be getting out of the...darn log. However, she was not ready for the sharp pull from behind that was obviously had good intentions but sure as hell didn't feel like it. If she had not bit her tongue, she would have spouted a new word for Adeline.
Fortunately, it worked, and Anita became free from the log, trying not to stumble into Shalon. She managed to regain her footing just in time to stay upright. "Hey, thanks," she smiled, glancing at Shalon gratefully. "And you too Adeline, without you I would have never escaped from that log's evil clutches," she said with a playful tone, giving the young girl a wide grin.

Adeline had no idea that when she told Shalon to pull that the only thing she could pull on was Anita's tail. But, their plan had worked, and Anita was free. Adeline stumbled out of the log after her, giggling in fun. Her tail wagged quickly as Anita thanked her. You're welcome!
She sat back on her haunches, looking around. What next? she asked to two adults. She wasn't quite done with the fun, but she didn't want to play hide and seek again.

maybe start wrapping it up?
What next? Shalon chucked a little, what next. "Well....." She looked toward the sky, looking at the position of the sun. It was starting to get late, and Shalon had a long walk home. "How about we walk back to the border? I think it's time for me to be on my way." She smiled at Adeline, "What do you think Anita?" More for the adult support, Shalon knew she had to be going. Besides, if she ran into Ezekiel, he probably wouldn't understand why she was still in their territory.
She turned in the direction of the border, before turning her head toward Adeline, "I'll race you." She grinned, before setting off at a slower run. Adeline was much smaller than her, and there was no fun in beating a pup in a race!

Anita nodded, stealing a quick glance towards the sky herself. It was, in fact, getting darker out, the sun slipping behind the clouds. Time did fly while having fun, although she had a sore rear from hide-and-seek to prove it. "You're right, we should head back," she agreed, looking at Adeline. She didn't know if the girl would be resistant to leaving their games behind, but it seemed Shalon had places to be. It was getting late too, and maybe Adeline wasn't allowed out after dark. These assumptions were was drove her to begin her walk, heading back towards the border.
She stopped, hearing Shalon speak again; mentioning something about a race. Anita grinned -- it was the perfect way to convince Adeline to come back with them. "I'll be the judge, I guess," she smiled, calling back to the two.

Adeline frowned when Shalon suggested that they head back to the borders since she needed to leave. It wasn't anything like what she had in mind, and she was about to protest when Shalon turned it into a race. Well, the pup certainly couldn't not join in on that. She was up and running almost instantly, stumbling a little as she did so, but she quickly got into her pace. Shalon already got a head start, but Adeline was doing her best to catch up.
By the time they reached the borders, Adeline didn't care who was first or last; she had given the last of all her energy for the race, and her body dropped to the ground when they reached the markers of their territory. Her sides heaved with exertion as she sucked in air, and her tongue lolled out of her mouth, but she had a smile on her face, a clear sign that she had enjoyed their play.
When Shalon was gone, Adeline would rest a few minutes before beginning the trek back to the den site, where she would most certainly pass out, aka re-energize. If Anita was heading there, too, she would follow without complaint.
