deirdre moved throughout the forest, seeking herbs for her medicinal garden. as she perused the territory, she hooted to her owl friend whom had resumed his teachings of magick to her. she knew much, independently; he had left when her father passed, and had now returned to teach her more. this old owl delivered her a juniper branch with berries upon it. the girl took this to deliver it to the herbal den she was creating, her stride long and proud through the forest.

Her search for a new forest to call home continued. Upwards she flew, from Neverwinter and towards the coast. From what she could remember, the coast was quite a nice place, and that boy with the freckles lived there! He was nice. Shiv briefly wondered if he was still around before directing her attention to the newest stretch of trees that she found herself heading towards.
She paid no mind to the scent of wolves here, knowing she was safe in the treetops. The scent and sudden sight of an owl, however, made her swoop into the safety of the undergrowth near the ground. She peered out of the leaves with frightened eyes as it silently glided through the branches, disappearing from sight as quickly as it had arrived. While Shiv knew she wasn't exactly on its menu, she still did not trust the massive beasts.
She remained on the ground even when she was sure the owl was gone, finally peeling her eyes away from the sky as a white form caught her eye. She spun around in her little hideaway, quickly noting the berry branch the slim wolf held within her mouth. Her stomach grumbled, and Shiv paused a few moments, contemplating. Had she really been reduced to acts such as these? Her hunger compelled her to burst out from the undergrowth, though, zeroing in on the young female and aiming to knick the branch right out of her jaws.

deirdre saw, in the corner of her eye, a winged creature fly at a rapid clip toward her. it was not so typical of the creatures of donnelaith to maneuver toward her in such a way unless they were in need, and as she turned and looked to the approacher she withdrew sharply as its talons moved toward her cheek. it took only a moment for her to realize what it wanted, and deirdre followed the bird with her sight before placing the small branch upon the earth.
do you hunger?deirdre chirruped, her tail waving behind her. she nosed the branch gently in its direction; if the animal was more in need than she, she could just as easily obtain another branch of juniper berries with little effort at all.

She missed her mark as the wolf moved out of reach, instead barely scraping the white fur of the delicate female's face. With a cry of frustration, the magpie turned sharply, intending to strike again. The girl's question though, caused her to redirect her heat-seeking missile flight path, up and over the wolf's head, making a wide circle before landing on the ground before her.
Dark eyes suspicious, Shiv regarded the stranger who had so generously offered her the berry branch. As she nosed it towards her, the bird jumped back, only to then curiously hop forward again. She was unsure of the pale girl, but the berries were tempting her and she couldn't resist. With a few more jumps, the bird speared a single berry with her beak, deftly splitting it in two. Why the wolf gave away such a find was beyond her, but she was silently thankful for it, chirping softly in happiness as she started on a second berry.

the girl stepped back when the other displayed hesitance. she did not wish to cause it any fear, and so looked to the left and gazed into the depths of the forest. she could not even hear the gentle hops of the avian, but could see it. the bird took her offering, and seemed quite happy with it. deirdre glanced toward the critter then, and noting that the other seemed comfortable, deirdre reclined into a seated position. she lifted a hind leg to itch at the back of her ear before beginning to groom herself slowly, all so that the other might become acclimated to her presence.
