The man had made it clear that she was not to leave. Mannoah didn't need to speak his language to understand that she was a prisoner here, and would be punished severely if she were caught trying to escape. A part of her had wanted to stay near him to keep herself safe. Aside from being the only familiar thing in the area, he was also the prime meridian of her new life. As long as she was near him, she could not be punished for going too far - but here, alone?
Mannoah didn't know how far was too far, or if there were any areas that might be off-limits. Probably he had explained all that, but it couldn't be helped. She merely walked slowly, nose twitching as she searched for a place to lay her head - or maybe food, water. (Would she be allowed to eat? Would her belly ever be full again?)
Even with all the fears that surrounded her and this strange New Place, Mannoah was oddly accepting of her new home and rank. She could not leave, but she had little desire to, by then. These shores had offered her little enough, and she was not eager to see what the rest of the wilds held.
When she found a cache, it was enough to pull a slim carcass from it and hurry back to the beach where she was found to consume it in silence.

hope this is ok - LMK if you want changes.
murgash, purveyor of all things food and cache-related, had seen a thin figure thief through his wares. his! nevermind that he had done nothing to contribute to the cache, he simply did his part to empty it -- to him, his constant vigilance was worth a hearty meal or two and he was positively wracked with affront when a little wisp drew forth from the soil a small catch and promptly turned tail.
if she was not female, and not the fine exotic type that murgash fell so easily for (really, he had a thing for the half-breed ladies) he probably would have burst forth from the bush where he was gorging himself and accosted her. but he didn't.
instead he followed until they were upon the beach and it was then the male made his move. she might have noticed him before that, he was not being very sneaky. "OI! PIG-LET!" he bellowed, trotting after the little thing -- "WOT ye be doin with MOINE FEESH?" he didn't know if the artifact she held in her teeth was a fish -he just knew it was his. (even though it wasn't - but don't tell him that.)

The dark male's approach had been duly noted, but Mannoah was still surprised when he accosted her so loudly. Not meaning to be defiant, but still unwilling to give up her meal, the woman snapped up whatever she'd taken in two quick bites before standing to face the male, tail wagging uncertainly.
He seemed upset - everyone did, lately - but Mannoah wasn't too sure why. The most likely reason had been her stolen meal, because she was right where the alpha had left her. Maybe he meant for her to stay there forever? Maybe he'd given orders to his pack for her to be attacked if she moved from this spot at all. It was not a promising thought, and she soon discounted it in favor of her other transgression - stealing.
But she was hungry - thirsty, too, but there didn't seem to be any water around, and she was reluctant already to go wandering if this was what would come of it.
"Skellige," she said, a bit grumpily. Perhaps it was uncalled for, but it was the only word she knew in this language of theirs.

She ate it! Murgash slowed to a shocked halt, his eyes wide with indignity. How dare! "bah! Pig! Oi hope it goes t' Ye hips." He spat, feeling personal grief for the loss of a valued meal rock him.
even his sparse hackles seemed to lift in affront, though they settled shortly after the woman spoke. What? Skellige? Big boss scary man, resident Affa? He looked at the female sideways, unsure the context of bringing up the Boss Man.
"wot?" he followed flatly, his gaze flinty as he awaited an answer.

All their accents were strange to the woman - this one was no different. To Mannoah, he sounded exactly as the rest of them had, though he warbled at a higher volume. His uncouth, unintelligent state was slightly lost on the foreigner, though she did note the ugly, unhealthy air about him. Still, the woman noticed nothing amiss and correctly assumed that he was simply upset by her pillaging of their stock.
Her accusation of Skellige did nothing to repair the situation. Mannoah did not particularly care to have it repaired.
"Skellige," she repeated, more firmly now. Her molten eyes blazed as she slunk a bit closer, wanting to get a better look at the male. Her nose twitched and flared while she took in his scent.

she repeated big boss man's name again; what, did she want to see him? murgash's expression was quizzical, confused even -- he flipped a torn ear in her direction as she lurked closer.
she didn't look lost, at least, not in the physical sense. disoriented, maybe -- or maybe it was murgash that was disoriented. he couldn't really say. what was happening again?
he sat on his rump promptly, the action producing a small whoosh of sand and air. "wot? ye want skelliboss? wots wrong with ye noice pal murgy?"

A second accusation had the desired affect. The wolf seemed to recede somewhat; his bottom plopped onto the sand in sufficent enough deference to cause the woman herself to recede. She looked on him now with curiosity, ears flapping as if to ward off flies as he continued to speak. He no longer sounded too upset, but Mannoah found herself dissatisfied with his manner of speech.
"Basura," she decided with a gentle scoff. Harsh was the word, but her eyes still reflected some measure of pleasure with the wolf. His ugliness did not bother her; for Mannoah herself was an ugly creature, at heart and to her own eyes. Perhaps the wolf would think her ugly as well, but perhaps it would not matter. Demons and instincts were powerful things.
"¿Le agrado?" she simpered, moving nearer once more. This time, she did not stop a polite distance away, but came up upon him to investigate. Her pointy, darting nose sought the skin near his shoulder, his spine. She would not have him if he smelled too sickly - but little else would stop her from trying.

he watched her with a squint to his usually merry gaze, the lines under his eyes pinched with skepticism. she said something he had no earthly idea the meaning of, but he naturally assumed it was a compliment. he puffed his chest a little, lidding his gaze with a sweep of his eyelashes in a gesture of cocky assurance.
but then she did something unexpected; she violated his space. he rose to his feet almost instantly, neck arched and fur lifted; what little hair he had along his spine stood up in rough edges. "oi! wot gives?" he half-shouted, swing himself around to face her fully.

The woman let out a sharp squeal of admonishment as she skipped back several feet, the wolf seeming to turn on her. Fear did not touch her; not for this, but she looked on with pouty disapproval as the dark creature bristled at her and shouted more strange words in his dulcet tones.
I tire of this, she thought to herself, now imagining that it was she who had witheld affections. She would not be gracing the village fool with anything.
"Basura," she repeated to herself, shooting the male one last burning glare before strutting away. Her steps were slow and lingering as she showed how very little she was affected by both his apparent rejection and subsequent shouting. Going so far as to fully turn her back on the wolf, she paused to examine the few drops of blood and fish scales that remained of her meal before picking her way delicately forward.

She's kind of slowly ambling away; not gone yet if you want to keep going.

her squeals caused his hackles to raise and limbs to stiffen; as she pulled away he was suddenly aware of something else stiffening -- her instinctive reaction had roused his own instincts, and he watched her hungrily as she strode away.
she repeated that word; murgash inwardly inspected it. it was meaningless. a sound empty of importance or conveyance. her burning glare, however fleet, lanced him with what he perceived as sultry invitation -- and suddenly he was propelled into action.
besides, it never hurt to let a woman walk away -- that way, you got to see the whole package in motion. he savored it for a moment, trailing his eyes from her rump down to her slender hocks. "'ey! where going?" he called after her, pursuing her at a slow pace. he wanted to run, he wanted to chase her -- but he quelled these instincts in favor of playing coy.

A burst of vindictive pleasure surged through her as the male called after her, wanting. Mannoah took a few more steps before pausing, allowing herself a moment to gloat before looking over her shoulder with a half-lidded gaze.
Who, me? she seemed to say, but underneath her lids her eyes were sharp and narrow. She'd not understood the words spoken to her and was reacting only to the tone. Still, she did not presume herself all-knowing in these things, and checked the other thoroughly for signs of further aggression.
When she found none, Mannoah felt confident enough to further insult and dismiss the male. She turned her head away in a haughty display and gave a sharp but dainty growl.
