Shadewood in the aching night under satellites

Discovering "Skullcap Lagoon" on the east-side of Shadewood where the river is; also for @Rollo! Looks like this. Closer to a hidden lake than a river, but its connected somewhere to the actual river on the game map.

The dark had a cloying scent to it. The further east the fire roamed the heavier that scent got - and then were was a saline quality to it. Sweet, salty, strange. But she was curious and unafraid; the darkness was not something she would ever be afraid of, even if this was a foreign land.
The trees still whispered. The wind gave an occasional howl through the boughs. The snow shifted and fell like icy rain from the branches, or in great cacophonous waves, but the sound of the disturbances did not fill her with trepidation.
Soon enough the scent of water added to the perfume on the wind. The sweetness lingered as a thin note beneath this and the salt, making Nootka think she had inadvertently gotten turned around within the great forest and taken back to the shore. As she came upon a river - what she thought was a river - she noticed first how open it was. The trees seemed less and less interested in taking root along the riverside.
She paused, observing her surroundings, and finally noticed that a mist had settled like a net between the trees. The river was quiet — and it seemed to stretch on around her for eternity.
