All Welcome

He came back to the grove and was going to try again. Maybe he just needed to take a different approach. The birds were still out and about chirping and flitting about, but this time he slunk along as more of a hunter than before. The awkward looking boy still hadn't found what he wanted -- would he ever? -- but he wasn't giving up right away.

The forest was alive, just maybe not as loud as it might be a few weeks on down the road, but an amateur hunter following unusual (for him) prey, he didn't have much of a chance. More likely was that he'd get lucky and find one already dead... Then he could take what he wanted and not have to go out here again, where people he didn't know lived. Coming out this far still felt like he was somehow breaking rules even though he knew he wasn't. Maybe that was another reason he was kind of trying to be sneaky, even if his tall, lanky figure didn't have much hope of being hidden in the new growth of the year.
i'm a stitch away from making it
and a scar away from falling apart

jaime is hunting too, though it isn't exactly a hunt for prey. he wants to find pheiros again. the golden boy has been on his mind far too often since their meeting; addictive in an almost dangerous way. but surely the boy is too sweet to pose any real danger.
so he's looking for him, though it's not him he finds. instead it's another boy around the same age, cloaked in starkly contrasting colors. he slows to a halt a few yards away as he watches the boy. it looks like he's hunting, so he figures he'd best not interrupt for now. instead, he watches like a creep.
jaime is extremely expressive; other characters are welcome to notice any emotion referenced in his posts.

Yeah, how was this going to work? Wolves weren't cats. Spook also didn't own a pair of wings of his own. Would be nice if he could just grow some. Or maybe some claws that could help him climb trees because goddamn it, these stupid birds! It was actually making the rather quiet boy genuinely frustrated. He'd been watching one hop through a bush, barely inching forward.

But then the bird got bored -- or noticed him, it was hard to tell -- and it flitted off deeper into the forest. Spook's head whipped after it, until the little brown blur melted into the darkness of the trees. He frowned, ears tilting sideways. Okay. New pla-- his gaze had dropped and he spotted a wolf staring at him. His eyes widened, Um. Spook had frozen, not sure if he was actually in danger, and definitely not used to being just watched by some stranger.
