@Lakhesis during @Lusa birth thread.

The mate must have kept near the den, and Shego lurked near, too, smelling the scent of birth and blood. It would have been Klotho to have predicted this day was coming near... and without her predictions, one could not know the sort of life these cubs would live. Were they born too soon? Just the right amount of time...?

A thought occurred to her, however, that they had come right on time.

"Lakhesis," she hums, grinning as she seeks her. "Lakhesis!"

She quietly moved to her sister's side upon her callings, stepping out of the trees, a crow feather slick with blood still stuck to her ruff. She had come to quite like these woods.

Licking her lips clean, the girl turned to Shego, pale eyes curious as to why she had summoned her. Then she smelt it. Blood and milk and...her ears pricked at the sound of tiny, soft cries. So they had found the place. Was this where their sister had led them? "I hear them," she muttered softly, her smile mirroring her green-eyed sisters'.

Shego grinned as her sister came to her. Her tail lifted triumphantly, her large ears backward.

"Perhaps she has led us here, to this thread of new life." They had fasted for so long, and her hunger roared within her even despite the meal that had been allowed in their arrival. "We must cast a spell that will bring her to us. Perhaps the mother will let us near." She did not think the mother would understand. She was not of their culture.

But they did not need understanding. Only the proper chance.

It was she who wove the threads, the sister who had passed too early. Lakhesis hadn't known the youngest of the fate's life would be so short, and her passing hadn't been by Shego's hand. Something had happened, had disturbed fate, but they would make it right again. Klotho had directed them here, to where she spun the thread of new life. They would find her again.

The sister nodded at Shego's words, though she was dubious that the mother would allow them close. So protective of their young, new mothers were. Yet they wouldn't be able to protect them from fate. "She will not," Lakhesis said with true conviction, looking to her sister.

But a spell, a spell would work. This was a delicate circumstance; one wrong move and all life would be doomed.

Shego furrowed her brow deeply at her sisters words, her temper burning within her.

"Well," comes her agitated voice, "we should bring the new mother a gift." Perhaps getting into the mothers good-graces would work in their favor. A thin-lipped smile was given, and she reaches in her memory until the idea occurred to her.

Drunk with the idea, she slurred, "The amulet of their given-name. It would bless those of that family," she lurches nearer to her sister, in her face, teeth bared in her devilish grin, "But if our sister is in one, she will not be blessed." She would be, in a different way; she would be given to those of their name, back to she and Lakhesis, to resume her destiny in a healthier body. But the family would know it. Would know of the odd one, not so prone to happiness, pleasure, and luck.

A spell in the form of an amulet. Lakhesis listened to her sister intently, tail flicking curiously behind her, and nodded at the idea of a gift. As they bestowed sacrifices and trinkets to the Fate, so would they present the mother with one — only blessed. While the witches favoured blood magic and curses, so too could they weave lighter magic. Anything to help their search.

It was a suitable idea, one Lakhesis met with a grin of her own, though not as wicked as Shego's. Her eyes flicked to the ground and she turned on her heel, pawing at one of the many dark feathers that littered the ground. Delicately, she lifted a particularly large one up in her jaws, showing the other witch before neatly arranging it before her and gesturing to it. "An item from their birthplace." The first of the materials needed.

At her sisters decree they need one item from the birth place, Shego grinned.

"Yes. And bark that has seen them," she listed, looking around at all the wood. The trees had eyes and mouths and everything and anything. Living. They spoke. And one spoke to her now... she moved toward it to peel at it with her teeth; it did not resist, and she left a red spot behind.

She dropped it.

"We need more." She sifted through the ingredients.
