For @Pietro and @Kendra, because I want Burke develop his caretaker skill more and Burke trying to care for peeing/pooping/vomiting babies should be fun! :D

Burke felt like an enormous giant while he was with the two potatoes that were his children. He was surprisingly caring, or well technically, not so surprisingly. Akela had mentioned it before, he could be a big grump but secretly he cared. Meldresi and the Spiderlings 2.0 probably knew that too. Burke was very curious about the screaming things and nosed over the grey male. He was going to look like him. He licked over him with his strong tongue before nosing over the dark girl with the lighter dots. Maybe he had been a bit hypocritical to this Sebastian for looking like him, now he was proud of his newborn son to look like him. Still these young would be far better than this Sebastian ever was since they had one amazing female as their mother.

Burke carefully laid down so they would stay warm in his plush fur. Autumn was settling in and the Alaskan native was fluffing up each day so he would have a thick winter coat. He placed his head down and tried to look at his babies. They weren't too entertaining yet, though he knew that once they started to explore there was also more danger. He wondered if they would notice a difference between him and Meldresi. Maybe they did since he didn't have milk, only warmth. Still that wasn't making him stay away from them. He wanted a strong bond with his children now he had the time to care for them. The reason Sebastian was annoying him because he was a reminded every time how he never had time to raise him. That wasn't going to happen again. Plus he gained parenting skills with the Spiderlings 1.0.

The world was less confusing when you spend more days on it. All the little girl knew was the underbelly of her mother, and the presence of her brother, they were the closed to her, and she was mostly always glued to Pietro. When not sleeping, she would sniff around, test her balance on her tiny feet, but it was never long before she would end on her belly and crouch back. Was she brave and daring ? You could say so, but she was always very cautious in her blindness.

There was also another giant thing in the womb she was now in. It did not have milk, she had tried that already, but it would stay close to them. She could feel the vibrations of the breathing, sometimes the lick, she smelled like that being too. Since she had fed, she decided to shakingly move to the warmth. It took her over 5 minutes to reach his snout . Exhausted, she simply bumped her tiny nose against his. First selfmade contact with her father.

Pietro feel free to jump in this thread when you have time or not! :3 Too cute not to reply.

Burke didn't realize he had closed his eyes so when he felt something against his muzzle he blinked his eyes open. His pale eyes fell on the dark female. Instantly a bit of a smile tugged on his face. What he didn't know yet was that she would have his eyes. He licked over the top of her head and nudged her gently so she could find his chest and lay safely by him. "Look at you, my little girl," he spoke softly. It was a private moment, not that she could hear him yet, but she could feel and smell him. He wanted to be important for her.

Basically he would be there for her the next few months, and even after that, since otherwise the pup wouldn't even survive. Burke realized he was back to licking her, his warm tongue moving over her head and back, even bits of her side. "Bet you will be just as badass as your mother. Better not bring boys home because then Daddy will have to kick their butts," he pointed out, he smiled a bit at that thought. It would be sooner that Potema would bring someone home rather than this little girl.

Pietro sleeps deeply. It is one of his defining traits at this, the one-week milestone. He sleeps sixteen to twenty hours of the day, and the rest of the time is spent alternately suckling, messing himself, and working on his very limited set of skills. In just one week, the tiny grey prince is able to lift his head and hold it stable. He is able to crawl forward and even manages to stand for brief moments at a time, usually only a few seconds. His legs are too weak to support his full weight beyond these precious few seconds, but he does often crane his thin neck upward to sniff at the air, and his forelimbs are now strong enough to lift his narrow chest and large head.

But mostly, he sleeps. Burke's voice and the conspicuous absence of his twin is what wakes him now. His face is pressed into his father's thick coat around his stomach, but he stirs from here, awkwardly turning himself in a circle with no destination. He thrusts his nose into the air and sniffs noisily, squeaking and hiccuping every now and again, and adjusts his angle until... yes, there she is. He locates Kendra. She is far from his position.

In protest of this fact, he whines loudly.

No idea what the ibg one like her was saying.  Although she was picking up on the low voice.  It made her tilt his head and yawn. She rolled into a ball against him , appreciating the heat and was already drifting off when she picked up on another sound,  not really hearing very fine yet, she however recognized it as being her twin.  Moving her paws on Burke legs , she pushed herself up and let her nose move to locate Pietro. Instinctively she replied to him with smiliar sounds . Therefore communication on the most basic level of baby talking. In their own language no one understood but them.

Burke felt that Pietro was shifting meaning that he was awake. The father watched as Pietro tried to locate his sister, and then seemed to find her. The twins seemed very connected already since Kendra instantly reacted to her brother. It was very interesting to see them interact in their own little ways. Burke let out a low chuff to encourage Pietro to come towards them. Burke wasn't afraid to make his pups work even at this age. But seeing how keen Pietro wanted to be close to his sister it wouldn't probably be too much trouble for the little boy. Burke watched with pride. His pale eyes studying his two children.

Pietro's ears are still too muffled to hear much, so Kendra's responsive sounds go largely unnoticed by the young grey wolf. He continues to protest in spite of her calls. Only when his father whuffs in a deeper, stronger voice that rattles his core does Pietro close his mouth. His twin's sounds are too quiet for his insensitive ears, but his father's baritone reaches him on another level.

His neck wobbles and he places his head back alongside his frail limbs. His nose is stuffed into Burke's coat again and he inhales deeply. Familiarity is the chief feeling. Kendra is far away but this other being placates him for a moment, at least until he remembers that she is missing and begins wailing again.

Skipping Kendra with Kay's permission

Burke watched at the young pup gave up looking for them. Burke wasn't giving up on him. He nudged the pup in the right direction. He gave his son a good encouraging lick. "Here," he spoke on on of his deeper tones. He wasn't sure if the pup could hear it that well yet. He gently picked up Kendra and placed her on the other side of his paw, this mean they were only a good foot away from each other so now it couldn't be too hard for the grey youngster to find his sister. Still he would get the satisfaction that he would found her himself, which was what Burke was going for.

His wails elicit a response. This is something he will remember in the coming days. The fur under his form shifts and something bumps against him, coaxing him in a specific direction. He manages to slowly turn himself, and only then does the familiar scent of the one who is not Burke and not Meldresi finds his nose. She is nearer than before, he senses. This pleases him and his wails come to an end as he lifts his head once more to survey the area.

Once satisfied, he hooks his frail forepaws into Burke's coat and begins pulling himself forward, sniffing furiously and grunting and squeaking the entire way.

Burke watched the pup's victory. Burke watched him with pride. "See, if you don't give up then you will find your way," he advised. Not that the pup would get anything from it. He might hear his tones but not understand it. Oh well, hopefully this was one of many lessons the youngster would learn.

Burke wasn't sure if all the sounds were necessary while moving but he let it slide for now. He placed his head down, and let Pietro find his own way to Kendra. He would probably wail if he needed something else from his dad.

Fade after Pietro's post? :3
