Open to anyone, possibly for a trade.

Pearl was all too ready to explore around some more. There wasn't too much to do around the Plateau at this time of year. Cas and Behati had gone off, and she would have to get back when they did to help maintain the territory while Dante and Lasher went off to make sure of their findings. Already a few months in a territory, and the pack decided to move. Hopefully it would be somewhat close to the coast, which she had only heard about from her father. Trotting steadily along, the pale-furred girl was content to wander the small yellowing plains. They weren't home, but close enough to it to feel nearly carefree. All she needed now were some Prairie chickens to jump from no where and scare the living crap out of her.

The weather was getting colder, but dropping so slowly that when a warmer day like this arrived, you realized just how chilly it had been. The sunshine gave off its warm rays, already different from the dreary-looking morning. Pearl was considering taking a nap, but going off of what happened last time she napped in the open, she didn't want to take the chance of running into a less friendly wolf. Why couldn't all wolves be as nice as Seb?

Uh oh. xD

Burke left Akela in charge for a few hours as he went to scout in the neighboring lands for bigger game. The huge grey male wanted to know what kind of herds or other big sized prey were around which they could hunt. Burke knew they couldn't live on only the small deer in their own territory. The grumpy tank of a male wasn't like his son, or maybe the other way around. Sebastian didn't want to be like his father. Burke was a rather strict wolf and didn't like too much bullshit. The male is often not very friendly to others. Not his business.

The brute trotted through the golden plains. It would be easy to mistake him for Sebastian. The two were so alike. Burke only had a docked tail and his body was a bit more stiff due to his older age. The male had a different air around him too. While Sebastian might be the friendly giant, Burke was a giant you didn't want to mess with.

What trade could this possibly be? XD

Glancing around for game or other wolves for what seemed to be the hundredth time, she saw a wolf in the distance. Finally, something. As the wolf drew closer, he seemed to resemble Sebastian. Wait...it couldn't be Sebastian, he'd still be in the valley, waiting for Haven to call. Plus, she noticed he had a docked tail. Definitely not Seb. But what the heck, may as well meet another wolf in the wilds. Pearl gave a short howl of greeting to the stranger who looked almost exactly like Seb. Trotting towards the wolf through the golden colored grasses, she went to approach the large male with a friendly sweep of her tail. She sensed he was older, so she kept her head down in respect. "Hey, I'm Pearl. What's your name?" she said with confidence. He seemed a little on edge.

I'm sure we find something? xD What threads would you like for Pearl?

Burke tensed as the female seemed to fucking howl in greeting. Did she wanted every wolves attention instead of his? The grumpy male instantly regretted going towards her. Her only saving grace was that she walked towards him with respect. He appreciated that. It was weird to meet other wolves outside his home who clearly didn't have a clue who he was. The one thing that also saved the girl was that she hadn't mentioned his son.

Pearl? She was named Pearl? What was that for stupid name. Some wolves were really not creative with finding names for their children. "Burke," he stated in return. "Alpha of Black Feather Woods," he pointed out afterwards. Yes, he was of status. "Who are you then, Pearl?," he asked, not that he really cared who or what she was. He might just drag her back to Black Feather to be a chew toy for his kids. That would be fun to watch.

Well then, definitely not Sebastian. Might not be a good thing to mention in front of this dangerous-sounding Alpha. Black Feather...she thought she had heard of it before. To her knowledge, it was associated with some really dark wolves. She'd better be very cautious around its Alpha, to not cause any trouble between packs. Upon hearing he was an alpha, she bowed her head lower. "Gamma of Blacktail Deer Plateau," she stated in a similar fashion. Not much authority, but still pretty high up. The situation was causing her gut to give off the nopenopenope feeling. She wasn't sure why she hadn't just given up on the conversation, but it would have been a good idea. Pearl prayed that her awkwardness didn't kill her. Literally. "Are our packs on good terms? I may as well ask while I'm out here on neutral territory." she said. God, that sounded weird.

Burke noted that she was a Gamma at least she had some sense, especially when she lowered her head. Currently the tank of a male didn't have any reasoning to attack her yet. Normally he would use somewhat of that reasoning to justify his attacks, sometimes he had one of those days that he didn't want nor need any justification. "We aren't on good terms with any other pack," he stated. "We don't make alliances. Any wolf coming close to our borders, pack member or not is close to losing its life," he pointed out. After all their borders were marked with blood of loners or their corpses. Burke found that it was very effective against trespassers.

"That said, you are on neutral territory and not close to our borders," he spoke. Somehow this female seemed easily manipulated, or well, Burke felt like he could make her say things. "So tell me about this Blacktailed Deer Plateau of yours," he stated, not a question, it was a demand.

Well then. No wonder they had a bad reputation. He demanded that she tell him about her pack. Darn it, what should she say to that? If they didn't make alliances and seemed to stay within their borders, she may as well tell Burke what was going on. The pack was relocating farther north, so what the heck. "I'm not sure exactly what to tell you, but Dante is the current Alpha, and Lasher the Beta. One of their missing friends has just returned...Osprey is her name. My pack is located on the Plateau north of here, but it's going to move somewhere by the coast sometime soon, to my knowledge." she said, giving no reason why.  Gamma though she was, she had only been there a few months and knew little about the fiasco involving Peregrine and Fox. Best not to mention a rivalry to this Alpha, who might use it to his advantage or get more information out of her.

Burke kept his stoic face but from the inside he was grinning. This girl just spilled all the beans about her pack. Names and everything. So those were the names that were in charge, they didn't sound familiar. On top of that she told the exact location, which was north of here. Wait a minute... North of here was where Bullet was from, the lithe grey female that he could verbally spar with so well. Burke squinted his eyes for a moment. He hadn't seen her in a long time after their fall out and she having a miscarriage. Hmm. Was that the lost friend that returned? Was that her real name? Osprey? Could be? Maybe he should start looking out for her and greet her by that name just to test it.

As a cherry on top of the pie she spoke about a relocation to the coast, which meant further away from them. That was excellent news. That would mean less packs around to steal their food. How perfect. Could he pressure her into being his little spy? Burke still had his evil plan of having a spy in each pack. Hmm. "What an excellent set of information," he pointed out. Burke then grinned, more evil than kind. "Tell me more you got my attention now," he urged. "Promise I will be kind if you do," he added, giving a glimpse of his sharp teeth. His body had scarring too, which only indicated that he was a very good fighter.

Welp, looked like that was a bit too much, because Burke seemed a bit to pleased about that information. Really,  nearby packs should have some common knowledge about each other. She just told him the basics, the same she had seen her old friend on the plains do before. It seemed to be turning into amore dangerous situation now, one that she could possibly run away from. Maybe she could be an outrider, like Casmir and Behati. She had to keep this up, or the consequences might be dire. She wasn't that good at fighting, and the opposite seemed true for Burke. She chose not to size him up for obvious reasons. "There isn't much else, to be honest, that would be entirely useful to you. It's a pretty big pack, all adults." she said, raising an eyebrow. She was being truthful, and also contemplating how fast he was for his size. "A few are on edge with the Caldera in the south."

Burke was very pleased with the last bit of that information. They were arguing with the Caldera is it not? Well then that would make them good possible pack to side with if there would ever come a war. Burke was still clueless about the fact that Sebastian wasn't in RHC anymore. He thought the male was still hiding there behind RHC borders being scared of him. Burke smirked. He was not going to tell her that they also had some grudges with the Caldera wolves.

She also spoke of the pack being all adults and big. Hmm, not to mess with that then. But seeing that both leaders sounded male that would also mean there would be no new generation of young, their pack was clearly doomed if that alpha wasn't going to find a mate. This female really told him all he needed to know. "And are you going to move with them to the coast?," he asked.

Crap. The way the large, battle scarred alpha was smirking at her told her that the basic information was more than enough. She didn't shrink back, though. Still, it would probably make sense to not mention Sebastian to him, because logically, these two personalities would have caused an explosion. Best to not be a dead wolf walking. She had to raise and eyebrow again at the question. "But of course," she said, suspecting a follow-up question. "I've never been to the coast." Her father must have, though, in order to get her name.

The sun was threatening to fall sooner today, and already the grasses were cloaked in a golden light. She'd much rather be running through this than running from this wolf. It didn't seem like he would harm her now. It seemed like he had another purpose for her.

Burke stood there before here, his docked tail up and proud. He was a very proud male. It might have been a silly question to ask if she was following her pack, but maybe she was not and then she would have even more information. Burke raised his chin up. Now it seemed that they were done talking. It is that the female was so useful with all the information she told him otherwise he might done something else to entertain himself.

"Alright," he stated, and then leaving the matter rest. Burke was done talking he was still searching for the big game they could hunt outside their territory, but seeing where he ended up was maybe a bit too far to go out hunting. He should return to his children. Without saying a thank you or goodbye the male just turned to the side and trotted away from her. She got lucky.

- Burke out -

Thank you for this! It was super fun :D

Yep! It was :)

Pearl only looked at him for a moment before she too walked away. She was sure he would ask her something else. It was an interesting meeting, but one she considered a success. Maybe she should be an outrider. Casmir might have a little more experience with exploring, but she was better at diplomacy. At least in formal conversations she wasn't that awkward. As she made her way back to the Plateau in the fading golden light of the sun, she thought about the different trades she could try for. She didn't even know some of them existed until she got into the Wilds. She'd ask Dante or Lasher soon enough. She picked up the pace and ran free in the darkening light and the swirling grasses towards her home.
