Sorry it’s took a bit longer than expected @Mara Susi . I thought it would be nice for us to have our own little thread if that’s okay! :3

Mason steadied himself against a tree, dripping wet from his dip in the lake. He was close to the place where his father now chose to hold meetings. His long silky fur splattered wantonly against his flanks, dripping water that steamed on escaping his own body heat. Mason looked extremely short, long and thin when he was wet. He usually avoided anyone except close family seeing him this way. He could just see the eyes on his ungainly, oversized body against his short skinny legs. Mason’s large spherical eyes looked comically far apart in this vulnerable pose, and he guessed he probably looked a bit like an oversized rat.

The boy moved away from the tree with a few shaky steps. He had kept to himself for a few days now, since he had heard the news that his stepmother was carrying babies. Mason felt weak, still suffering with a lingering cold that caused his nose to dribble saliva. A dip in an icy lake was no doubt the worst thing he could have done, but the Beta felt like waking himself up a bit. After the woozy feeling left his head, Mason shook out his fur to remove excess moisture until he was left looking like a scraggly toilet brush dripping droplets of lake water.

Mason padded away from the lake slowly on three brindled paws, which he had favoured slightly ever since the accident involving his white fore-paw. It was an unconscious decision and didn’t affect his running, only his walking gait. Perhaps when it was pointed out to him he might correct it, lest the right side of his body become weaker than his left. Any illness still riddling his body was forgotten as his thoughts roamed around other things.

The boy moved onwards, fire-eyes shining brightly in his unconventional face, whip-like wet tail wagging softly with his movements. Whatever else had been thrown at him recently, he now had something amazing to look forward to: soon he would be a big brother again.

Mara's mind was still racing, Peak had told her he loved her and out of fear and pressure the young wolf had told him she felt the same in return, when truthfully she didn't know how to feel. The white male was great, kind and caring but age was quite a difference and she wasn't sure she loved him romantically. The young fae had been without her brother for months and she believed her mind confused love for anyone resembling him at all. She didn't want to be the ivory mans mate, she had just joined Silvertip, she didn't wish to be anyone's mate. Besides, he had spoken of wanting pup- and although she wishes to have her own one day, Peak would have to wait at least another year before she could have any. She felt her stomach ache, hurting him was the last thing she wanted. Especially being his "bandage" for depression.

The girl was trotted, too deep into her own mind she didn't even see her Beta soaking wet from a swim. Her head began to throb and she practically collapsed onto the ground. All these things were becoming overwhelming, from having to help Zaria, to having second thoughts on basically quitting her hunt for her brother, to having mixed feelings for both Steady and Peak. Despite all this she still didn't regret joining Silvertip, in fact she loved it!

Taking in deep breaths, still oblivious to Mason being close by , she tried to calm herself down. To rid of this headache and stomach issues. She tried to think that others had it worse, that she was just fine.

Mason spotted his packmate before she did him; she was heading in his general direction but she looked out of sorts and a bit dazed. Indeed, as his dripping form angled towards her, she appeared to collapse, crumpling towards the floor. Mason let out a shout of alarm and immediately pushed himself to bound the last few paces to her side. She was breathing rapidly, but she appeared to be trying to calm herself. He worried she might be hyperventilating, or sick.

Mason gently nudged her with his wet muzzle on her shoulder, ears cupped in the direction of her voice, concerned eyes looking over her face. “Mara… are you okay?” His voice was gentle but firm as he tried to get through to her, as he wasn’t sure she had even noticed him standing there.

Mara was taken by surprise when Mason had approached her, and asked if she was alright. His touch was comforting, but her stomach dipped when she realized she showed him no respect in the position she was in, how could she have been so oblivious? She lowered her head closer to the ground, as a sign of submission. His question made her think, was she okay? The young girl had no clue. "Mason! I'm sorry, no one was suppose to see me like this," she tried to shake off her feelings and trick herself, and Mason, that she was just fine.

"I'm fine...I think," She admitted, in more of a question than an answer. She only spoke curses in her mind of missing Mason, it was only till now did she notice the white wolf was completely soaked.

She shrunk closer to the ground in a display of automatic submission due to his new position in the pack; still getting used this, and also aware of her predicament, Mason shook his head gently as if to say ‘don’t be silly’. “You don’t look very fine Mara, maybe we should get you some water from the lake? Do you feel okay to stand?” Mason nudged her again and turned to look back the way he had come. He stood ready to help her get to her feet if she was able. “Have you eaten recently?” Sometimes lack of food could make him feel light-headed.

"I think so," Mara attempted to stand, shaking a bit in the process, but it was proven easier than she first expected. His touch comforted her greatly, but didn't ease her mind. She thought of when she last ate, and was only now realizing it had been two days since her last meal. Walking to his side, she still kept a low stance, not only as a sign of respect but a form of weakness. "It's been about two days, I believe." She exclaimed, could that be what caused this? Not only her mind but her lack of food?
