final stop before home! woop woop! AW but still preferring friendly interactions. (:

Her paws itched. She wanted to be home for responsibility reasons, but at the same time she just wanted to leave. She'd eaten alright the past week, nothing big but she was still healthy. She'd discovered so much, met so many people. She didn't understand why she'd never done this before. The world spoke to her. It whispered sweet nothings into her ears and lured her forward to her next destination. It begged her to stay, to never return home-- but she knew better than that. She sat now at a river, her muzzle dipping in as she lapped at the cool water. Aria had never fished before, but she sort of wished she knew how. She was a little hungry, and pretty tired, but happier than she'd been in a while.

how 'bout me

He had been feeling particularly nostalgic that day, so Koda ditched his buddies at the creek to check out some of his old haunts. He hit up the Whitefish River first. Being an avid angler, Koda had spent a lot of time on these banks throughout his time at Blacktail Deer Plateau. He lingered near the spot he'd met Kesuk for a long while, staring absently into the rushing waters that had almost swept her away the very day he'd met her. He'd managed to save her that day, only to end up drifting apart later on. Having almost lost her once, he'd wanted to keep her by his side always, but she hated being cooped up. He felt a sudden tightness in his chest as he wondered where she was now, if she was happy, if she'd found someone new..

Time to move on. Koda continued to follow the river upstream, toward the plateau soaring proudly over the grassy landscape. His thoughts now dwelled on the crap he'd put up with as a member of that pack. The crappy leadership, the dude on dude stuff, the mouthy spoiled brats! How had he lasted so long there? Still, he couldn't help but wonder what they were all up to.

But those thoughts were pushed aside when he came upon Aria, sitting quietly on the riverbank. At first, he thought he'd bumped into Pallas again, but that was a fleeting thought as this she-wolf was clearly much younger and daintier. Koda paused several steps away and wagged his tail in a friendly manner. "Hello there."

!! (:

The girl glanced up, a man of soft browns and caramels looking over her. She raised her head from the river, water dripping from her white lips and falling into the rushing water. She licked her muzzle carefully, studying the man in return. "Hello," she replied, her soft voice calm and crystal clear. Since her encounter with the pirates, Aria had become somewhat cautious around strangers. Somehow, though, this one didn't appear to frighten her.

"Looking for something?" she asked, her head tilting to the side and her soft white fur fluffing up gently. She was petite, her fur was merely giving an illusion. All wolves knew this trick, and it wasn't helpful towards other wolves, but it was merely instinct.
