All Welcome
The new base of operations was, well, new, and the boy was none too content to sit idle on his ass. There was a whole new world down this way for him to explore, and for as many hours as his legs could sustain he busied himself scouring the lands surrounding the rendezvous site. He paused only to harass some unsuspecting family member, to eat, and to nap, restoring energy to his growing body so that he could romp again. This day would be no different.

Ferret arose early, before anyone else except some chickadee that chirped from a nearby branch, and started his daily routine. He went toward the south this time, nose to the ground, following a trail of something or the other. His stomach rumbled, and he lifted his head to glance back at his family before his eyes settled on a nearby fern. He had but one question for this plant as he peered at the broad leaves and tall stems, a question that he was beginning to ask of many of the things he discovered on his expeditions: can I eat that?

Only one way to find out.

With a rawr! Ferret lurched forward and clamped his teeth onto the nearest frond, shaking his head as he ripped and tore at the fern like a savage, land-bearing crocodile.

When it came to exploring on his own, Peter rarely had an original idea. He was more comfortable with following either adults or his siblings around, occasionally getting lost and then crying loudly until someone came to find him and bring him home. He was not ashamed of this unmannly behaviour, firstly, being too small to grasp the ideas of manliness and secondly... well, it always worked.

So today there was kind of a new step in Peter's development, because rather than following and actual person, he followed a scent trail. Left by none other than Ferret. Nose to the ground, he ambled along, until the sound of stuff being destroyed announced that his rowdy brother was not far off. "Waaat?" he let out a whistling sound, seating himself near Ferret and watching his actions with genuine curiosity.

There was little left to the fern by the time Ferret had finished assaulting it. In fact, it was hard to discern that the scraps of chewed and slobbery foliage had been a fern at all. His brother's whistling question caused his head to jerk up, and with greenery stuck between his teeth and poking out from beneath his black lips he turned to face Peter. Ferret's ears splayed sideways; his brother was always following him around, much to his annoyance.

Still in land-bearing crocodile mode, the bandit charged his littermate without warning. Growling and barking he leaped, black forelegs outstretched as he went for a tackle-pin combo.

Peter was probably a very boring play-fight mate, because he rarely if ever attempted to fight back, preferring to giving up, giggling and trying to lick the other's chin or cheek. The worst thing you could expect from him would be him trying to grab his opponent's ear. And even then in a very gentle manner.

Therefore, when Ferret attacked him, he fell backwards with a muffled thud, let out a little whimper, when he felt a tiny rock poking in his back, and with his belly facing upwards and paws drawn to his body he looked his crocodile of the brother and smiled happily at him. As if being attacked was the greatest thing in the whole world.

No matter how much he tried, his brother remained unconcerned with being tackled, or bitten, or otherwise punished. Ferret was convinced his brother was not all there in the head. Hell, he was barely all there in the body and the bandit was quickly outpacing Peter in growth as were the rest of his brothers.

Ferret stared down at Peter, his eyes flickering with irritation. He needed new tricks, and fortunately, the gears in his mind cranked one out for him. He grinned impishly, then drew a loud, snorting breath in threw his nose. The he sucked his tongue, gargled, snorted some more and smacked his lips... until his rude, obnoxious noises accumulated into a grand glob of spit that started to spill from between his fangs in a long, oozing strand that dangled above his brother's nose.

Ferret stopped assaulting him and Peter looked up at his brother innocently. At that moment two things happened - the glob of saliva that was oozing down from his brother's jaws fell and the little boy inhaled. Not to mention that this was disgusting, the Peter lost his breath and began to cough violently. He freed himself from his brother, rolled to her feet and spent the next minute gagging and retching to free his nose and be able to breathe. With little effect though, his tongue began to gain a slightly blue shade, his legs gave way under him and he fell to his side, gasping for air with his mouth wide open.

This time his brother reacted and started to cough, much to the amusement of his tormentor, who started to laugh. Peter rolled out from under and got to his feet, and Ferret continued to laugh even as his brother retched, gagged and toppled to his side. To the bandit, this was all funny. He did not comprehend the potential severity and was not exactly the tender loving sort. So he stood off to the side, laughing and sticking his tongue out at his brother and making faces too, all in the spirit of got you this time!

Might need rescue in here! Ferret is not helpful. @Peregrine @Fox or anyone else who wants to pop in lol.

Peter did not know the concept of "whole life flashing before his eyes" yet, but the feeling he experienced, while gasping for air, was similar and, what was very clear in his head there and then was that he did not want to give in to nothingness. Especially if the cause of death was going to be as silly as his brother spitting in his nose. Therefore he continued to cough, until something came loose and he was able to breathe freely again. He lied there with eyes wide, sides heaving heavily, relieved that he was done with the problem.

However, something had changed and he realized it, when he heard his brother laughing next to him - the sound unpleasant and reminding him of all the horrible seconds he had spent on the ground, fighting for air. Therefore he got to his feet, shook his coat and without one look back at his sibling, Peter began walking away.

Peter kept coughing and Ferret kept laughing, going so far as to roll on the ground and stamp his paws. He now had a new tool in his toolbox, and his brother could count on being spat on the next time Ferret deemed fit, but for now, the smaller of the pair had enough. Peter, now over his fit, got up and left, leaving Ferret to stop his guffawing abruptly with a sharp and surprised huh! as he opened his eyes to see Peter's back as the boy walked away.

Ferret snorted, turned around and stuck up his tail and he marbled back toward the brush he had been attacking, feeling triumphant and cocky. His brother could leave; he didn't care.

ooc: hey, I am sorry that this turned out so short, but maybe you would like to save one of these two lonely threads (they can be moved to present time) - http://wolf-rpg.com/showthread.php?tid=14783http://wolf-rpg.com/showthread.php?tid=14754 . I have a feeling that Peter won't be letting this go easily and there might be a room for a very interesting development. :)

When Peter had put a good distance between himself and Ferret, he did stop and look at his brother, who continued, what he had been doing prior his arrival. He watched the other kid for a good moment, as if pondering, whether to join him again, because, what he was doing there, did look interesting. But something refrained him from doing so - he just did not want to be with Ferret anymore. Therefore he got to his feet again and returned to the rendevous site in hopes of finding someone, who would like to give him a hug. According to his mind... he had deserved it.
