He'd skirted the shore a bit, though it went against his nature; The smell of a residing wolf pack was enough to change his mind about following the beach. But here again, his passage was blocked by the scent of wolf - another pack, though maybe not as big as the last one. For a moment, he thought about trying to pass through quickly and avoid dectection - but that was never a good idea. Then, he considered going around yet again, taking the long way and the added risk of losing his path. That was ridiculous, though - on both counts. (He'd never lose the sea, but why would he go even further from it?)

No, the best thing to do was call and ask for safe passage, as was custom in most places. So he stood carefully to one side of the border and lifted his muzzle to give a short, questioning howl. With any luck, someone would be by before long, and he would explain his dilema to them as quickly and effciently as he could. He'd pass through without trouble, and be that much closer to finding one of his half-siblings.

And he needed to find them. It was clear to him that this was a sick land - the lack of greenery and prey was proof enough. He had to make sure they were okay. Mostly Szymon, to be frank - Skellige and Ishlid could certainly care for themselves, but Szymon, in this land. Perish the thought.

But there was a part of him that had ulterior motives about calling to this pack. There was a part of him that rather liked the idea of starting new, where he could make his own name instead of forever being known as the bastard son of Bronislav.

The salty sea witch heard the howl and decided to go and check it out. Her fur bristled a bit as her hackles climbed her back as she approached the border.

feeling a bit curious, the pirate saw the other wolf nearby. She came closer, her stature lifting and looking dead at him. "What be ye business here lad?" She called out, questioning his motives. Sadie waited for an answer.

Marbas watched curiously as the rust-colored shewolf loped toward him. Not the alpha, he decided after a moment, affecting an unconcerned look as he sat down on the floor. He'd arranged himself into a carefully neutral statue by the time she reached him, but made sure to give her his full attention when she arrived. A slight, but not an obvious one. Not overt enough to challenge, but enough to perturb most wolves.

"I'm waiting for the alpha, unless you think you can be of any help," he replied, his tone level and questioning, but his words belieing his true opinion of her.

Or let her think that, at least. What he really thought was that she was rather attractive, and that he liked her easy confidence and straightforward approach. But that was neither here nor there, and he did want to speak to the alpha, when it came down to it. The shewolf before him smelled of salt and sun - a more pleasing aroma he'd never known.

Tagging for visibility.

Since her eldest daughter had been stolen away and was assumed dead, Sen had started spending much more of her time watching over @Chusi. Feeding the child, bathing the child, keeping her locked up in the darkness of the whelping den... it was the best method, in her mind, and so she saw absolutely nothing wrong with it. Perhaps the pack should have met her by now, and yet, the serpent had refused to take her out to see them, or them her. It was the safest of her options, and would, for sure, prevent the loss of her final child. She had no more after Chusi, not an immediate replacement to fill her place or a litter on the way to do so in time. No, she was her only child, and so that meant she would never be permitted to go very far.

When a howl arose, however, the woman had left. She'd sent a glare towards the small wolf, followed by a low growl and a threat of what would come if she were to step foot outside of the den. Even if only for a moment, the punishment would be the same, since it seemed fit. Thereafter, Sen had left, moving in the direction that the howl had come from. Once she'd arrived, however, it was noted immediately how the stranger was not alone. Sadie had gotten there first, but that did not prevent the Gorgon from approaching. Head and tail raised, ears pressed forward, she was not against letting it be known exactly where she stood within the pack. Thus, she'd approached in that manner, eyeing the outsider at she'd just barely caught his words. "What do you want?" Sen questioned, unknowingly rephrasing what Sadie had asked prior to the leader's arrival. Had she known, she would not have cared either way, for it was her job to poke and prod until all the answers that she wanted had been stated.

He did not like to submit, but there were always cases where submission was necessary. When the dark wolf approached, red eyes aglow in the midst of her shadowy cloak, Marbas felt it necessary to lower himself, pinning his ears back against his head and dropping his gaze to the ground at their paws.

Safe passage through your territory, he told himself to say - but his tongue would not heed him.

"I wanted to meet the alpha of these lands, to determine whether or not I would try to join this pack," he said delicately, knowing already that the shewolf was irritated. No matter how much he wanted to take those words back, to do so would probably only further incense her. Marbas held in a breath and waited for her response, silently wishing he'd replied kindly to the rust-colored shewolf when she'd arrived. He could've asked her to escort him through the lands, and he'd never have me the dark-furred alpha.

Just a heads up! We have a posting order that goes Marbas -> Sen -> Sadie! No worries this time, but keep it in mind :3

He tried to size her up a bit, make her uncomfortable. His words were like insults, making the pirate of a wolf lift her gave and size him up. Her hackles rose as her tail curled over her back. With a rumbling snarl, she snapped her jaws towards him like a barricuda. "Ye think ye can waltz right in and disrespect a pack wolf 'ere? Scoundrel, I'll rip ye throat out and feed yer eyes to the gulls!" Sadie snarled between her clenched teeth, her tail swishing behind her madly. She was never really one to want peace, where was the fun in sitting still like statues and just talking?

Before she could say something else, Lady Sen appeared and seemed to be a bit irritable too. Lowering her position, the salt wolf stepped back and let her dark alpha deal with the rude traveler by herself. She turned her head to whisper to Sen. "He be nothing but another meal for us," she said, cackling to herself before settling down and watching with honey eyes. They looked dead into Marbas as if she was trying to steal his very soul from within him.

Sorry about that, guys. And about the short post - they'll be longer when we're back in order.
Marbas kept his mouth shut, looking warily between the two women. He didn't want to be the one to make the first move, and he knew that it was in his best interests to keep his mouth shut. Sometimes, the well that kept vemon dripping from his tongue would just not be stopped.

When she'd approached, the male had lowered himself, successfully pleasing her by displaying how he understand that she was above him. To make matters better, he'd even replied somewhat quickly, seeming to bother not with wasting her time. Yet, he was not the one to be addressed first. Rather, she'd directed her attention towards Sadie, assessing her posture before smirking in response to her words. While she'd been so kind as to whisper, the serpent was, and did, not. "I'm sure he'd make a nice meal," the woman noted. "But I think I'd rather see if he could provide more for us alive than he can dead." Amused was she, yes, but never did any laughter leave her maw. Her attention turned back to the male, then, her expression leaving little room to assume what it was that she thought about.

"Well, now that you've met me, what do you think? You wanna try and join us, maybe be of some use to someone? Or are you going to be our next meal?" Sen fired off a round of questions, her gaze never leaving him. She knew not if she even wanted him there just yet, uncertain if he'd truly be of use to them. It depended, perhaps, on how he might respond to her. Though, really, even that was not for certain.

I suck at life and remembering stuff, sorry:(

Sen picked up on Sadie's dry humor, making the pirate cackle a bit more in the background. This landlubber could be more useful alive, but he would have to at least prove it. The questions were like cannon shots, hard to answer, hard to dodge. Maybe this wolf could prove his worth here?

Watching from behind Sen, Sadie remained quiet with a crooked smile on her face. He would make quite a nice meal.

Marbas did not like his odds against the two women - fighting or running. "How would I go about joining your ranks?"  he asked, not wanting to give away his uncertainty, but looking for a way to buy himself more time to think. It looked like running might be the best way out, after all. He didn't really want to gain a reputation as a coward, but that didn't matter as much to him as getting away without tangling himself up in something that would be harder to get out of, later. And what was he supposed to say? On second thought, I think I'll take my leave, now.

Not hardly. No, Marbas simply quirked and ear, and then turned as if he'd hear something - and then he was off like a bolt of lightning, propelling himself on strong legs used to running through sand more than this simply, hard-packed earth. He wasn't confident he could get away without a scratch, but certainly without a fight. After all, he'd avoided the bulk of the famine, and these would had clearly not. Still, only time would tell if he could outstripe the two females.

Last post from me.

There came first a question, and gradually had an answer started to form within her mind. No sooner had the query settled within the air had the male taken off, leaving the woman momentarily stunned. Quickly had her shock morphed into anger, however, and immediately had she looked to Sadie. "Follow him," the snake commanded. "Tear into him if you can, but otherwise just make sure he goes far away from this place." Never to be seen again, she hoped. Passed the borders and far beyond them, in a direction that she might never venture. For if ever were Sen to see the man again, her disinterest in fighting would be set aside, and upon his flesh would her teeth descend. For the time being, though, she left that up to Sadie. Not long after had she left the scene, retreating to her den so that over her daughter she could watch.

Her instructions were clear. Sadie nodded to her Lady cap'n before dashing off at a rapid pace. She wanted to spill blood, she wanted to tear off fur, she wanted to do something exciting in her life. With a devious grin on her face, she went after him. Whether or not she caught him, she would chase him till the edge of the sea was in her view. No one dissed a pirate like he did.
