All Welcome
He stepped lightly over the thick snow crust, the cold weaving it's way through his thick fur and chilling his bones.  A quick trot of a pace had some warmth gather in his limbs, but still the cold chilled him. Soon, he found his run to take him outside the border, and he altered his course so that he may head due north, curious to what may lay that way.

As he ran, the crisp cold carved a stinging path to his lungs, his breath a cloud before him. A dark form upon the otherwise snowy white caught his attention, and he neared, slowing as he approached. A group of chickadees took fright at his approach, alighting all at once with an angry chittering. He found it to be a corpse, covered in a layer of snow a frost. A fox, fallen prey to the cold. His gaze roamed over it, falling on he marks the chickadees had made trying to puncture the tough, frozen hide. Deciding a meal in the winter was never one to ignore, he settled on his haunches and begun to worry to flesh with his fangs, tearing strips of sinew and flesh from the thing and chewing them slowly. Nothing like the warm, fresh flesh of a summer hunt, but the winters hunger had the ability to make almost anything taste better than it was.
But the downside of being a con artist is that it's very hard to con. Even if the lies you tell are to yourself.

Ah! This post was longer than expected, sorry if it's a bit much!

Emory was in shock, how could he do this to her? To leave her after finally reuniting, God, what if it was her fault? Did she do something? Spark something from the past that the new Charley, that Alder didn't need? She felt lost, and hurt, and Onai was no where to be found. Where was he? Where was Charley? Onai? Aspen? Rowan? Tigerlily? It was all getting to her, she was finally hit with the tramatizing feeling of loss. She'd already lost her father, Reek had left her years ago, her mother had lost her sanity the minute her and Charley were born. Her claws sunk into the snowy ground, her teeth bared, ears pulled back to her skull, her body was bent forward and she tried desperatley to keep her emotions in, to not allow them to spill all over the white snow and prove that she had feeling. This was her punishment, she spent her entire life avoiding connections, avoiding bonds, and now that she made so many they were ripped from her life and it was her fault. She never should have returned, never had set foot back in Teekon, she should've been killed off in the wild defensless without her brother, but instead she lived, and now she was just surviving. It was all too quick, everything happened within such a short amount of time of her return, what was wrong with her? She caused it somehow, in some way her entrance to the Court was what destroyed it.

Memories flooded her brain, photographs of her and Charley growing up, of her father, of Onai and the pups for the short amount of time she met them. She suddenly widened her eyes, and was in a completely different place than she had been before. It dawned on the wolfess that in her state of panic she must have ran, escaping the Court in a desperate attempt of help. Her chest heaved up and down, and the illusion of smoke surrounded her nose, something similar to an angry dragon. But Emory wasn't angry, she was an awful concoction of emotion, and she desperately required aid, whether she'd admit it or not. The vixen was so overwhelmed she hadn't even noticed the brute a few yards away, chowing down on a meal.

footsteps on snow alerted the boy that something was near, and warily he halted his feasting, eyes fastening on a russet woman a distance away, seeming not to have noticed him, or simply in no mood to approach him. being quite full, and hardly in the mood to go back to his meal now, especially with the other so near, he watched her a moment before letting out a soft chuff, ocean-blue gaze fastened on her. he scented  the air and found her scent to be of pack, though which he did not know. Never the less, the scent was remembered, as he waited to see whether or not she would notice or address him.
