|Late Morning|Slightly Cloudy|Slight Wind|

the river would prove a bountiful breakfast, she was sure of it, as she watched trout meander down the current. without hesitation she stepped lightly into the current, let the cold wrap itself around her limbs, and though the river tugged and pushed at her, her paws stayed firmly planted, giving no leeway to the water. optics of charcoal watched carefully the trout, for she was in no way to allow room for error. still she was for a great many minutes until her muzzle dropped as swiftly as a spear thrown from a great hunter, fangs closing around the smooth body of trout. the fish arched and flailed with all the strength it's sinewy body could muster.

alas, it was for nought, for quickly did the woman step from the river, moving to an area generally cleared of snow, beneath the boughs of an evergreen. there her jaws snapped shut mercilessly, the salty tang of its blood filling her maw. she dropped the body, still flailing weakly, though in a minute it would no more. quickly, methodically, she stripped from the fish strips of flesh and set about filling her stomach.

*plops Sylvas in* :3

The mercenary had never really travelled far from the borders since the republic had claimed the glacier as their own, so it was only natural that Sylvas' golden eyes cautiously surveyed the landscape as he roamed. The brown and silver male had quietly jogged some way along the Qeya river, eventually finding himself at a stream that divided off from the mass of blue, so curiously and carefully, the male decided to change his course and began to follow it. As Sylvas walked along the bank, he couldn't help but watch as fish swam within its clear depths, a smile slowly creeping across his muzzle as he followed onward, almost mesmerized. The mercenary peered around as he silently took mental note of this particular spot, keeping it in mind for future hunting and maybe even now whilst he was here; especially since there were so many mouths to feed back home and few able adults.

His fur rippled as a breeze swept through the terrain, Sylvas giving a small shudder as his chocolate-brown ears listened to the gentle howling of the wind. He continued down the stream, lifting his head into the air, nose twitching as the brute scented the cold wind, leathery nostrils flaring as the aroma of fish and water was wafted into his face and as Sylvas got farther down stream, the smell of fish guts caught his attention. The sizeable mercenary gradually came to a stop as amber eyes now found themselves observing a stark white stranger within the distance.

there was another, she was aware of this a brief moment following the beginning of her feast. well, perhaps she ought to not go to the extent of calling a single fish a feast, yet in the winter, it took little to fill her diminished stomach. her ears perched erect atop her skull, ignoring her prey for a moment, charcoal optics searching the snowscape and falling quickly on the stranger. salmon tongue flicked from her maw to catch swiftly a stray scale perched on her muzzle, and though she did not speak, her brow furrowed in silent question as to the male's intentions.

she would not return to the remnants of her meal, not until the male's intentions were discovered. instead, she eyed him coolly, wondering if he would approach or simply continue on his way. she inhaled in the slightest, catching his scent as the wind bore it toward her, of pack. perhaps he was with the Republic, as the woman had called it. she wondered exactly where they settled, idly, and if it would interfere with her budding plans. she most certainly hoped not.

Sylvas found himself in an awkward situation at this point in time, the mercenary remaining still as he stood, silently watching the ivory woman from a distance. Gradually, he looked to his paw in front of him as it remained held in mid air, the silver and brown male quietly debating whether to take another step forward or remain unmoving where he was as their eyes met.

His bushy tail gave a sway behind him as a small amount of frustration grew within the wolf, surprised at his sudden delay in approaching another, for usually Sylvas wasn't so hesitant. Though, maybe this wasn't such a bad thing as one couldn't be too careful nowadays. The mercenary managed to look away from the female and slowly to his paw as he finally decided to take that last step forward, now cautiously making his way toward the white stranger.

As he approached, his large head was dipped in a polite bow toward the woman, amber eyes  fixed upon her form as she watched him silently with her meal still in paw, ”Morning.” He smiled, offering the other an odd smile of sorts, for in truth he was nervous and unsure of what to say, especially since he'd just randomly interrupted the woman's meal, ”The stream seems plentiful today..” He panicked, stating the obvious as his tail hung low behind him and his ears then suddenly flicked back against his head.
