she travelled on, even as the sky above her darkened and night cast it's shroud over the land. soon, came stars- they seemed especially bright tonight, yet for a while the woman ignored them. parallel to the mountains did she travel, not wanting to breach them just yet. tomorrow she would set her sights back to the Bypass- not home, but simply a place.
finally, did she pause, near a lake, and saw in its stillness the brightest of stars reflected. slowing, she moved closer to the edge of the barely rippling water, the absence of wind meaning that it did not work itself into a frenzy. up to the stars did she glance, watching them. she appreciated beauty, the woman, and this ranked high on the things she had seen in her life.

Two of her daughters were gone, one missing whilst the other had gone off in order to find her. It had been by the mother’s suggestion that her middle child left in order to find Airi and bring her home, but that didn’t make the emptiness left behind any less sorrowful. She longed to see her girls again—the both of them—but knew that she could not leave her home on a quest to find either. As the sole leader of the tribe, it was her responsibility to remain there and watch over the group, as well as ensure that the peace was maintained. Yet, as a particularly quiet night rolled around, it was out through the cavern’s entrance and beyond her claim that the woman had gone, finding her way towards the meadow with ease. It was not with the desire to see the territory that she’d gone, but with the hope that she might catch sight of her daughters whilst out—a hope, she knew, that would not become a reality.
A soft glow from the moon’s light as it reflected off of water drew her forward, luring her in like a moth to a flame. The air was unusually still, offering not even a slight breath to ruffle her fur as she walked. It was there through the shadows that she spied a dark form, not unlike her own in build. It was without even a trace of hesitation that she lessened the distance between them, though it was not the wolf that resided at the end of her path. Rather, it was the water, which Asterr approached in silence, adding two lesser moons to stare back from its reflection. One might think that she intended to ignore the other female, for a greeting had not been uttered, but she soon eradicated that theory.
“I wonder if there may be something coming,” murmured the vessel, her gaze having yet to leave her reflection. “The night is far more calm than usual.” Slowly, her head turned so that she might gaze at the lone figure, features regal even as her brows scrunched together. In the night, she seemed most at home as she blended so finely with it, though her true kingdom was beneath the reign of the sun. Still, she was not any less amiable at either time of day, and so a faint smile graced her lips whilst silvery eyes looked with interest at the stranger.
