ooc: @Merrigan apologies that this took long to get going luv <3 i have a roll for the hunt, we can roll to see who gets the kill?

she had ventured away from the pack lands to get some fresh air which was heavily needed for her lungs. krypton just wanted to get away by herself and spend some time enjoying the land, smelling the flowers, running into a ice cold stream- just going back to when she was younger and happier. now, that didn't mean she wasn't happy now, krypton couldn't be more thankful for her family and home. yet, she wanted to return to her roots of when she was careless, where she had nothing to worry about, where everything was perfect. of course turning time back was impossible and repeating the past was nothing more than a dream. but a wolf could hope, a wolf could dream, a wolf could attempt, no?

with a pep in her step, the beast of a wolf lumbered through the meadow, taking in a deep breath of the spring air before letting her legs give in and bring the beast to the ground. krypton rolled within the grass, absorbing the scents and dew on the blades, enjoying the sun on her furred body. after finishing her little roll, the beast brought herself back upon her stilts and stood tall, though a sound, a sight caught her attention. she perked her ears forward, her plume swung behind her in a single swipe as her glassy eyes locked onto something. an animal was hiding in the grass, it's head was barely poking out. what was it?

krypton decided to go ahead and check it out, creeping up as quietly as she could. she got a good glimpse of the animal before it ducked back down into the hole it came from. a groundhog. now, they weren't that big, nor that tasty, but it was better than munching on roots and grubs. krypton felt a twinge of hunger in her stomach, making her decide that she was going to catch the thing and claim it for herself. with that decided, the beast decided to back off a bit and give the vermin some are to lure it back out before she would launch at it to grab and kill it.

Merrigan had been laying in a patch of longer, taller grass enjoying the hot warmth of the sun on her fur. She panted softly and languidly rolled onto her back her soft belly fur now the target for the sun's warmth. Groaning softly she wiggled around to get more comfortable in the now flattened grass below her, when the breeze blew to her a strange and unfamiliar scent. It was obviously some sort of prey, it had that gamey, earthy type of scent to it but she could not place a name to the scent. Curiosity and hunger getting the best of her, she rolled back over and stood up moving swiftly toward the scent. She could see a oddly shaped brown head poking around in the grass and she stopped and stared for a moment before crouching low and creeping forward steadily until she was a good distance away from crouching.

It had been a while since she had eaten a good meal, it showed in the way her shoulder and hip bones poked through her pelt a bit more than they should. Though she was skinnier than average she still mantained her muscles and medium bulk, visibly not a weak adversary. Another bout of breeze blew to her the same odd scent, but this time with a female wolf's scent along with it. It would seem that someone else was on the trail of this odd brown piece of prey. She was hungry, she needed to eat, and she wanted this piece of prey desperately and so she would have it by any means nescessary.

Roll for the kill, and i suppose do a roll for who gets it in the end, and then we can just fight it out IC to fit the roll?
