All Welcome
POISON THREAD! AW! Maybe his grandbabies can help him!

Lightheadedness made the older male sway in his steps. Burke knew that something was wrong with him. The wolf came to a halt and heaved. The contents of his stomach spilled out on the ground below. Instantly the male felt woosy and needed to sit down. His dark sides restlessly moving as he panted.

Eventually, the male laid down on his side, eyes closing. His head throbbed and stomach cramped up. Heat flushed through his body, almost like a fever. A grunt came from the male. Unsure what caused his body to react like this. A weak howl sounded from the male. He was not stupid enough to suffer through this alone. Something was definitely wrong, the male had no idea what caused these symptoms.

The weak sounding howl of her grandfather concerned her; in her eyes he was a pillar of strength and dignity. She respected Burke a great deal and to hear him cry out so weakly made her concerned. Nova made her way across the packlands quickly to find Burke and the contents of his stomach not too far from him. "Oh no!" She rushed to his side, nuzzling weakly against him. "We..we should get you water, Granpa," She tried to keep her voice low, unsure if his head hurt or just his stomach. Nova lifted herself up to make a more pronounced, clear call, hoping that one of her siblings or parents was around to come and help them.

Nova's avatar kills me every time. I love it so much, you have no idea.

Burke felt light-headed and tried to push himself to his feet. However, he was weakened but help was on its way. Burke recognized the young female's voice. Nova, his granddaughter. She wasn't as grumpy as Ivy, and more of a kind nature like her father. Still, Burke had grown more attached to the four teenagers. "Nova," croaked and grunted.

He pushed himself into a sitting position but fell over again as she howled for help. The elder male sounded a growl in frustration, not in aggression to his granddaughter. "Some--thinggg.. Bad. Poison--," he groaned and tiredly closed his eyes. He tried to breathe, and keep calm.

Sebastian heard the howl from her daughter. The howl from Burke he hadn't heard because it was not carrying very far. The male wondered what the urgency was as he was rushing towards his daughter. He was thinking the worst possible scenarios. Maybe she fell and broke her paw or there was an intruder trying to kidnap her.

As he came to their location he saw his father on the ground. Strange. He was never on the ground. "Nova," he breathed out. "What happened? Are you okay?," he asked her. His nose then picked up the vomit and Burke's wheeze like breathing. "Is he dying?," he asked with a frown, to then realize he was the medic of this pack. Burke was pretty old.

He stepped closer to Burke and sniffed over him. "What is the last thing you ate," he asked his father. Perhaps it had been something rotten.

Thankfully Sebastian appeared and while she'd at least managed to get Burke to think of something - but poison? She laid down next to him, to keep him warm, while she waited. She groomed his face, relaxing against him as best as she could and when her father asked if she was okay she nodded weakly. "He was sick when I found him; he'd howled but....I was close, I think." He hadn't been very loud after all.

Nova swallowed thickly as she looked down at her grandfather, doeful eyes turning back to her father. "You...you and Mato have been keeping the caches, they've been....they've been clean." She stammered. Even if Mato had been gone lately, she was still worried. She didn't want to face the truth of Burke's age and mortality.

It warmed Burke's heart to see the young female so worried about him. The elderly male inhaled wheezy breaths of air. Luckily for him, Sebastian came. Though the male asked if Nova was okay it seemed, and not if he was okay. Then he even asked her if he was dying. "I'm not dying," the grumpy old male bit back to his son. Yet, the male was instantly tired out more by his snap.

His granddaughter implied that there might be something wrong with the caches. Burke tiredly shook his head. "I still hunt small game... Keeping fitness up. Rarely take from the caches," he spoke, panting between his sentences. Burke's mouth was dry, and then he remembered that he started to feel bad after drinking water. "Water," he grunted. "After the water." Then the male placed his head down, too tired.

Sebastian looked from a worried Nova to his father being... his father. Sebastian flattened his ears. "I'm only trying to help you," he snapped back, followed by a sigh. Nova suggested a really good thing. Maybe Burke had eaten something rotten, however, it was quickly contradicted by the male himself. Sebastian got more of a frown on his face, especially when he saw that it didn't go well with Burke. Shit.

"You did a good job, Nova," he praised and licked over the top of her head. Then Burke mumbled something about water. Sebastian was ready to try and fetch some for him when he altered his request. "After the water?," he repeated with a frown, looking at his daughter. Sebastian realized all their waters were connected. If there was something wrong with the water in their territory they would have a severe problem. But first, they should look after Burke. "Snakeroot. I should get Snakeroot," he spoke, that was the thing he knew for poison. Perhaps @Andalusia had some from her travels. He howled for the female. "He will be alright, Nova. Don't worry. Your granddad is one tough cookie. We should tell everyone to mind the water."

The hanging tang of vomit pressed an urgency to her step. Whatever she had thought Sebastian had called for fell from her mind the closer she came to the trio. She had scented both Burke and Sebastian's daughter - her name escaped her at the moment - a fair ways off, but the Ostrega had failed to see them until she came a good distance closer. There was something clearly off with the older man, and the two pressed around him. Andalusia stopped a few paces back.

She turned a pointed look to Sebastian, gaze sharp with the prompt for him to explain. The pungency of what she determined to be the spilled contents of Burke's stomach made her nostrils twitch, and kept her a safe distance away. Until she found out just what was wrong with him, she had no intent of pressing any closer. If he wasn't contagious, she would handle their patient paws on.
