One of Tacita's biggest issues since leaving her natal pack was figuring out how to join another. Of course, she knew to find the borders and summon the leaders so that she could state her case, but that was always difficult considering that she was a full-time elective mute. At one point in her life she'd been able to flip a switch and speak as if it were nothing, but now that her voice had become so under used, speaking was uncomfortable, if not downright painful.

Tacita paced back and forth on the border as she tried to think of a plan, but when she found that nothing came to mind, she thought that maybe she should just walk away while she still had the chance. That being said, she probably would have died from starvation if she had left, and that thought alone was enough to pull a scratchy howl from her chest.

Her attempt at a howl had been good enough to bring the pale-furred wocha to her quickly. His patrol had been carrying him nearby, roughly pointed this direction even but hearing her did allow him to cut to the chase--and he was eager to do that when quality coming upon their borderlands was less than stellar these days. He made it policy not to humor the nosy anyway and new joiners were appearing a bit rare--and even more elusive were those worthwhile enough to stick around and grow into an effective role as Drageda.

When Dio could see the female dressed in white, he closed in with long strides. His tail had risen up tall, since the commander was not within sight, and the rest of his stance shifted towards confidence aired in authority. Any wolf with a working nose should put it together that his scent was heavy along these boundaries. He kept defense high whenever he was able and as such, he was invested in keeping everything secured. While she had not yet outed herself as any shade of a threat to that very security, his patience was short and expectations at an impressive height as he moved closer to her.

His eyes were on her and he showed the tips of his teeth without hesitation. Once near enough to her, he began to circle loosely around her at a walk, eyeballing from all angles to see how he was going to be received--good, bad, or otherwise. "Why have you come here?" he asked outright. She had called, so he expected answers.

Tacita took in the striking presence of the brute with a submissive whine and fall. She ducked down onto all fours with her belly on the ground and her tail tucked between her legs. Her ears were flat and her eyes were thin as slits, though she still made an effort to watch the male as he circled her. Why have you come here? His voice was powerful, commanding. It was one that demanded answers, and Tacita knew she would have to respond. To join, she managed, though the words were so poorly communicated that they might have been incomprehensible. Tacita's voice sounded demonic, a sinful excuse for a voice.

She put up no resistance to his presence and was reduced to a submissive show quite quickly. He still loomed in closer, tightening his circle around her imposingly, standing tall and like he might like to shift to an outright aggressive should anything call for it. To then hear (albeit just barely--and he didn't care for her voice much at all already) that  that she sought to join their ranks narrowed his eyes further. Now, she was beneath a new sort of scrutiny, one to see if she might measure up to their mettle at all. "Why Drageda?" he name-dropped when he could have plain sight of her expression. If she knew of them prior to now or simply wandered upon them by chance mattered now. "What good would you be to our cause?" New recruits could be so hit or miss, and as much as he didn't want her to speak that awful voice all too much, he had to be convinced.

When his patience ran down to empty or her answers no longer suited him--whichever conclusion he reached first, he shooed her away from their well-guarded, cliffside home. Once she was out of his sight, he refreshed the nearby markings, and went on about his business.
