bloop! he's not crossing the borders just to be clear<3 taggin @Chusi for visibility but anyone welcome

Though their trip has been long, Étoille does not mind when Wanlida asks him to visit the mountainside pack. He is glad to be able to contribute - and it should be short enough. Soon they will return to Drageda for their next steps. He realises that he has not seen wind nor tail or Mirabelle during his mission, struck by a pang of - something akin to longing, but he hardly knew the woman, but - well. Where-ever she ends up, Étoille hopes she's safe.

It is beautiful down here, and he is careful not to stray too far, careful of the scent marked borders he nears. The titan slows, lifting his head and calling for the mountainside pack's leader. He hopes this will be a simple exchange.

A strange sound rung in the sky.
There was a pause.
With his hind leg still raised as he had been caught mid-scratch, the young Ostrega perked his ears, which twisted and turned atop his head like little radars. The voice was unrecognizable to him, though he could tell that whoever was calling was male. For some reason, this made him want to answer to the call personally. A strange, irrational jealousy, made him want to get there before Chusi (specially) or any of the other ladies of the Vale did.

He broke into a run, the slight limp on one of his front paws now barely there - though some of the soreness remained. He arrived relatively quickly. A small, proud smile drew itself across his face as he saw he was the first and only to arrive, but quickly as he set his eyes on the caller the smile faded. It was a large male, that shared the same milky, creamy color of his coat. Remi chuffed to announce his presence in case he had not yet been seen.

"hello there, can i help you?" he questioned, his tail, despite giving an amiable wag remaining dominantly raised behind him.

He is pleased when his call is answered quickly. Étoille is hopeful that the mountainside pack has news regarding Wildfire, but also, very much wishes to get back to Wanlida and choupinou. Efficiency is key here.

The male that arrives is young, not as young as choupinou (Furi, he reminds himself). Aside from that he does not seem particularly noteworthy. The titan dips his head politely in greeting. "I come from Drageda, to the north," he explains quickly. "We are searching for a missing pack-mate - a small she-wolf, red-furred with a black marking on her snout and a black tail." He recounts Eske's description and pauses, wondering if he should mention their discovery of Arlo - he doesn't wish to imply these strangers had anything to do with it. No, it doesn't seem necessary to give that away, and so he remains silent, waiting for the silver boy's answer.

The man greeted him respectfully, and slowly Remi, pleased that this encounter seemed to be meant as peaceful, let himself relax a bit more, though he did not let his guard down entirely. He knew better than that. The man explained in a few words his origin, and his trouble. He too was searching for a missing one.
Inmediately, Remi's ears perked in interest.
He had never heard of this Drageda but it didn't matter, if they could have information on Rannoch he'd be willing to help.

That if he had some way to help.
"We have a lost packmate as well, Rannoch, a large grey male with turquoise eyes -- have you seen him?" he barked, hoping the description would cause a reaction in the otherwise serious looking stranger.
He listened to the missing female's description, his brain rattling its archives for anyone somewhat similar. The only fiery red wolf he had met had been Anatha, in the Gorge. "What's her name?" he asked, hoping that the name he'd be given as answer would match the one in his mind. If not, then there was no one else Remi could think of that would be even worth mentioning.

There seems to be an epidemic of missing wolves. Étoille shifts his weight from foot to foot, expression twisting sympathetically. He has seen a gray male of decent size - but that was only the beleagered Grayday. Not this Rannoch of which they seek. "I am afraid not," he replies, "but we shall keep an eye out during our search as well. What is the name of your pack?" The assurance is, he knows, an empty promise, as his promise to Grayday had been. But it is the sort of polite thing to do.

"Wildfire," he offers in answer to the boy's second question. The titan suspected it would not be of much use (in truth, he suspected she had met a similar fate to Arlo). But nevertheless he waits for the boy's answer.

He waited silently for the man's answer, a tiny ray of hope gleaming through his light colored eyes before dissapearing completely after the large stranger said no. He sighed, his shoulders slumping a bit, "We are Northstar Vale" he barked, the pride he felt straightening him back up. He had never heard of this Drageda, but after this encounter alone Remi was already convinced they were nice and would be worth paying a visit to when he decided to set out on his next scouting trip.

The name of the stranger's missing packmate rung no bells in Remi's head.  He furrowed his brow in a thoughtful pause, his mind digging through the archives of names filed in his memory. "hmmm, no I haven't seen or heard of her - but i will too keep and eye out for her" he barked, returning a seemingly hollow promise that the stranger had offered first.

we can probs wrap this!!! :3c

Northstar Vale. He makes mental note of that - it seems he's running a mental roster of nearby packs at this point, between the Vale, the Caldera, and Morningside. The silver-furred boy hasn't heard any news of Wildfire, unsurprisingly. Étoille nods once. "Thank you," he rumbles graciously, "I hope you find your Rannoch as well."

With that task settled, the titan lingers for a moment before beginning the solo trek back to Drageda, so he may deliver his report to heda.
