@Lucca, though any of the other pups are welcome of course!

Whenever she was feeling low, a surefire way to lift her spirits was to visit the alphas' puppies. Depression had lingered at the edges of her thoughts since discovering Nightjar's death, and since then she had wrestled with feelings of inadequacy. She was a healer. Why hadn't she been able to help him? This, of course, was ridiculous, because his blindness had been permanent and irreversible, but she had no way of knowing that. In her mind, it was just a matter of finding the right combination of medicinal plants and applying them properly.

She sighed as she approached the rendezvous site where the kids were typically gathered. The first one to catch her eye was Lucca, and she grinned fondly at him. He was growing so fast! If his paws were anything to judge by, he was going to be a good-sized wolf before long. "Hey, kid!" she greeted him cheerily, her tail wagging behind her. "What are you up to?"

HE HAS FLEAS

He had spent the better part of the day rolling in the dirt. While the boy was fond of doing this, today there was an actual reason for him to do so. He itched. This went beyond the typical itches he occasionally had on his nose or paws, though. This one was persistent and frustrating, and the boy let out small growls and whines as he flip and flopped around on the ground, too preoccupied to even let his parents know of his ailment.

It was a sudden greeting that caused him to throw his head back upon earth to see an upside-down Raven approaching. He grinned at her, still wiggling, delighted to see the dark girl. She always smelt nice, like berries and sweet-smelling plants! "Hi, Raven!" he barked back, before rolling over with scrabbling forepaws to stretch himself along the ground. "Itchyyy!"

Oh gosh. I love him, hehee. <3 Also, sorry it took me forever to reply!

Despite his jubilant greeting and the cute grin that came with it, it was immediately obvious to her that the boy was in distress even before he complained that he was itchy. Right away, Raven was concerned. He was rolling desperately in an attempt to scratch whatever plagued him and get some relief. "Hey, easy there," she said soothingly in an effort to calm him. "Let me see, maybe I can help." She gestured at him to roll upright so she could take a look at his back. She was already mentally running through the list of possibilities. Had he been bitten by ants? Or gotten into some poison ivy or some other botanical irritant?

Ditto! <3 (should be quicker now though!)

Her words had an immediate effect on the boy and he quieted down, still looking up at the healer with all the trust in the world. The pinching sensation all over continued however, and as she motioned for him to sit up, he got in a few good scratches and shook out his coat before falling onto his haunches so she could take a look (though his tail continued to beat the ground as it always did).

"Betcha it's Clover's fault," he said without any actual basis. "She's always doing stuff like this." What she could have possibly done to make him itch so badly was a mystery, but Lucca was convinced it was because of his mischievous sister.

The poor boy did everything he could to sit still, but it was clear that the itching made it very difficult for him. Raven chewed her lip with concern as she nosed through the fur on his back. His skin looked reasonably healthy, although it was a bit red and inflamed in places where he'd been gnawing and scratching. She used her nose and a paw to look through his fur, searching for any clues that might tell her what was going on.

And then she saw it -- a tiny little black dot darting over pale white skin. Oh god, she thought to herself, cringing for the boy's sake. A moment later, she found more. The boy was crawling with fleas. No wonder he itches so badly. She'd never had a problem with them herself -- some of the plants she worked with had repellant properties -- but she knew just how miserable it could be. Fortunately, Lucca was in luck. "Clover didn't do this, kiddo," she said as she finished her inspection, giving him a light kiss on the top of his head as she sat back. "You've got fleas. But I have a few things that'll help get rid of them. Want to follow me to my medicine cache?"

Even though he itched like crazy, Raven's gentle nosing through his fur was a welcome distraction. He giggled a little at the ticklish sensation but managed to sit still enough for her to diagnose his condition. When she finished, he accepted the affectionate kiss with a happy wag of his tail before looking up to her with expectant curiosity. While he was slightly disappointed by the fact that Clover didn't do this — he couldn't get her into trouble with their parents now — he was more interested in what the medic had just announced he had.

"Fleas?" he echoed before trying to crane his head around to take a look at his backside. He couldn't see anything himself, but he trusted Raven's judgement. Her invitation to the medicine cache caused him to leap up with excitement, barking a happy, yes!"

Upon arriving at the cache, Raven retrieved and then slathered a strange paste upon his hide. It smelt weird, but the medic assured him it would stop the itching, and so he didn't complain and tried to sit still. A berry was awarded for his compliance, which only raised Lucca's already high opinion of Raven and he then invited her back to the den to participate in game of hide and seek with his siblings. Afterwards, the paste having worked its magic, Lucca forgot all about his flea situation and settled in for a nap with his equally worn out siblings.

Adding an ending onto this <3
