All Welcome
Weather: 3°F, partly cloudy.

The temperature had risen significantly, and he was tempted to immediately return to Moonpear after his quick expedition to the chopped-off mountain with the lake on top. However, he'd picked up a game trail this way, and he was eager to prove that he was a worthy addition to the pack. Having identified the scent as a fox, Dune stuck his nose to the ground and marched on toward a hopeful prize.

she'd avoided the teekon for more than a year, due to a rather unfortunate series of events that had had the woman hightail it out as soon as she could, not stopping until she'd left the wolf-infested territories far behind. and she had lived happily, for that time, even found a band to run with and the odd suitor. that, of course, had shattered when a few trigger-happy rednecks had decided to take it upon themselves to silence the yipping howls of the coyotes, and the woman had fled all the way back here.

she hissed at the fox, who seemed intent on snatching the half-eaten dove at her paws. it was a male, young, and full of testosterone as the breeding season approached. she'd hated him as soon as her eyes had settled on him, hated him as soon as he'd approached with his cocky walk, gaze on her meal. she yipped once, a sound that was meant to drive him away but succeeded in him only moving closer, to the irritation and disdain of the coyote.

As he continued to follow the trail of the fox, Dune saw up ahead the second coyote in as many days. This one was might lighter in color than the one he had come across yesterday, and it looked as though the fox was attempting to steal the coyote's food. Dune decided to keep his distance, not wanting to add a third predator into the mix. There would simply be too much at risk if he tried to eat the fox for dinner.

He reclined on his haunches, sitting upright with ears pricked, eyes trained on the duo fighting over what looked like a rather small meal.

She did not notice the wolf immediately, though it was the slight uncertainty of the fox that had her whip around and set eyes on the white creature. She blinked at the wolf a moment, realizing with a stab of disappointment (yet not exactly surprise) that all the wolves hadn't just died in her absence. Gesturing at the fox, irritated as well as unsettled, now, she beseeched, "kill it, please?" They'd both come away with a meal, and she with one less competitor.

Abruptly the wing beneath her forepaw was wrenched free, and the fox darted away, obviously finding its window. With a yip, the coyote dove after the thing, fangs catching loosely in its tail but unable to form any real grip.

Dune heard the coyote, understood her even, but he didn't make any show of it. She seemed peeved by his mere presence, yet she wanted his help? Instead, he watched as the coyote dove after the fox, catching its tail. It did not seem like a solid grip, and Dune did not think this fight would last long. Surely, the fox would get away and they would both be left without food. He thought that better than the alternative where the coyote got everything, Dune left with a few bites and no food.

With the comfort of the pack, he did not need to go squabbling over food with other canines. Instead, Dune continued to watch, mildly amused by the spectacle. He watched for a little while longer, eventually turning around and heading away from the coyote and her troubles.
