Broken Boulder chicken strip

the setup is sick even if the big dumb dogs are annoying and filled with sharp bitey things like teeth. not that shoegaze doesn't have teeth (and claws!) but theirs are big and scary and could definitely snap him in half, so being the smart sensible boy that he is, he largely sticks to the safety of his brethren, their oscillating colony winding its way through and around the territory, wreaking general havoc and having a good time. 

still he's not managed to meet his end yet and so today he cautiously ventures out from the crowd, stepping carelessly on @Kerosene's face as he goes. who knows what tasty secrets their idiot doggy obstacles have hidden from them?

okay, maybe this move isn’t so bad after all. he does enjoy stirring up trouble and being a nuisance — and there’s no shortage of opportunities for that here. he’s a little scared of the big dogs, of course, but as long as he stays somewhere within the moving mass of other cats he feels mostly safe. they can’t fight them all, right?
just as he’s starting to feel okay about the whole thing, he gets a heavy, dirty paw to the face. an outraged yowl slips from him and he snaps at the offending paw, hoping to rake it with his teeth. he notices it’s a familiar orange a little belatedly and releases a string of curses before he melts away into the crowd again to nurse his wounded pride.

Bunyip did not know what to make of all the small, screaming, yowling creatures that had taken up residence. His first instinct was to flee the scene from such demons but he couldn't do that. Bunyip knew he was a part of something now. If everyone was still sticking around...well, he had to at least pretend to be brave.

He watched from a distance at first as one cat seemed to crawl through the rest, stepping on another in the process. His features contorted as if he could feel the pain of the stepped on creature. Awkwardly, the wolf shifts his weight back and forth before calling out -- unaware if they even understand him.

H-hey! W-where you going?

even kerosene's teeth snapping against his ankle doesn't upset his good cheer, although he can't help the hiss that escapes him. whatever. more importantly one of the big dogs is talking to him. shoegaze freezes, his spine arching up as the fur along his dorsal ridge spikes. unlike the other dogs this one isn't growling or showing it's big ugly teeth at him but he doesn't exactly wanna get close y'know? 

"fuck you that's where!" sheogaze yowls, cautiously edging in the direction of the cache.
