The scents that might have lingered were faded, washed away slightly by rain. Still, the signs were there.

There was also great evidence of predators in the area - furrows gouged into trees, tufts of hair caught in bark where bears had scratched their backs on the trees, etc.
One scent in particular tugged at the girl's memories - familiar but so faded she could not be sure who it belonged to. Her tail picked up a wag as she did her best to trace it - unknowingly following the same route Grezig's pack had taken on their way to Blacktail Deer Plateau.
