All Welcome
wanderlust was life.

it may not be completely her life - for it had rather been thrust upon her instead of by choice - yet here it was. she moved with grace, with no purpose, and with no direction. the ivory beast cared not where she went. she made subtle notices of the changing landscape, entering into a new realm not known to her before her mind went blank again. the location was foreign. a place she had never been. though change always held such options. but delights? someone was getting ahead of themselves.

the area was wide and the season's breeze was lovely. Heloise would pick up the scent of many hooved beings living in this particular area. though her stomach was very quiet; nary a sound to escape to show she was hungry. travel had made the woman self-sufficient. she did not need to feast right now; the previous day had been fruition with scavenging. she would pause by the thin treeline, icy gaze looking across the plateau. the flatlands were below, ripe for the picking.

she had no idea where she was going or what she was going to do here. perhaps she would only stop here in the spring and move on during winter? who knew? she certainly had no inkling of things to come.

weather be damned; Lena would still press on, even if it hurt, to get further and further away from home. it never occured to her as a child that she would ever leave. it seemed.. barbaric, to escape the safety and comfort of her pack. but circumstances proved painfully powerful, and here she was, lost on a plateau, alone.

the scent of many ungulates passed her nose and, while delightful, she passed the opprotunity. a single female wolf wasn't prepared to take down a hundred-pound deer by herself. fish, rabbits, carrion - all would do just fine. she lookeed out across the horizon and spotted another looking out, and felt a similar energy. Lena's smile was wide, and her tail wagged behind her. hello there! she called out, hoping the other wolf could hear her from the distance she was at.

her thoughts were broken by the call. the ivory beast would shift her neck briefly, though she did not look directly at the other. no, t'was a small turn, her eyes focused to acknowledge yet not dart away from the land below. "hail and well met" she would respond calmly. perhaps it was foolish to let the other see your back, but Heloise did not feel intimidation nor hostility from the other. no, it was more kin to friendliness.

and as such, she saw no reason to be rude back. nor display a weary attitude. the scent of outside was on the stranger's coat, though the woman could not pinpoint an exact realm. wherever it was, it was beyond her knowledge. satisfied with having mapped out a small piece of the wilds in her mind, she would at last turn fully to the other. a younger woman it seemed. "have you just arrived here as I have?" perhaps she had been long on the road. too eager to keep a conversation flowing.

a breath escaped her that she did not realize she held. it was never a sure thing - occasionally strangers would react poorly to her, and she would have to find another direction to wander. this stranger was no so cold, and even seemed to be perhaps as friendly as she was.

she stopped only when she was close enough to talk comfortably. the girl chose to sit, and curled her tail neatly around her paws. she dipped her snout low, respectful, and her overall posture was generally unthreatening. truly, Lena was one of the sweetest girls.

yes; I've been traveling for some time. from the south! it's really quite beautiful up here, though I could do without this cold. she said, filling the silence with her voice as she often did.

"I see" the woman replied shortly, briefly. she did not fill many words to space, quite content to allow the girl to take the reigns with the flow. the notice of coming from the south was responded with a slow tilt of the head. her travels had been mostly northern climates due to her thicker coat. she was not looking forward to the summer months. perhaps she would live primarily in mountain regions when it came.

so she did not feel a kinship with the lighter coated being. yet there was also no envy. if one could not be proud of themselves, they lived a sorry life indeed. she lived with herself just fine. she did not need to change herself for anyone. "I am Heloise cel Mare" she would introduce herself after some silence had passed. a slight bow of the skull was given to the stranger, a way of respect. "do you plan to settle here or move on?" perhaps she was curious to see if the fellow traveler had plans.

it would make her feel much better, departing from her eventually.
