She had promised Ame that she would provide for the pack and work on her trade to be a more useful individual, and she was doing just that. Thanks to Ibis she now knew that plants had uses and that those uses could be many, and despite the real danger of fining one with a not so positive effect on the health (that she also knew was possible thanks to Ibis) she was determined to know each one and what it was good for. Moonspear had an array of very different plants than the ones she had found before, and today Eilonwy decided was a good day to scout the land for herbs, and so she toured it with a head low and a bunch of plants wrapped in her mouth, stopping here and there to sniff out new plants hoping some of them were useful.

Imprisoned, banished, into a nexus of my own design...
Now Time mocks me, and my sentence is Gravity.

Where one drifts to please for merit, another drift to please for self. To avoid warfare that only narrow minded organisms found to be the only option. Whatever maniacal laws had been set within the wolf realm, whatever damned bastard children from unheard lines to find the jaws of what could have been a close family member, or even a loved one, a potential uncle or guardian, a sister... all would reap what was not planned, what was not permissed, what had little say in their own fate.

Zafina reflected upon the words of Amekaze, her own woe settling in this uncanny paradox of her own doing. She had come here, lying her plans and her lies had become slow and painful facts. The woman was due soon- Marruz has not been where he said he would be. Time drew close, and she knew her window of salvation was closing. Was this her recompense for all the men and women she had fooled? For all of the laws she had broken? For the bipolar ways of her craft that only spun in circles? Where would her circle end...?

Her breaths came hot and heavy as she slowed her gait to just beyond the most recognizable border of Moonspear- she was heavy with her pregnancy- and soon, Marruz would be too late to save the newcoming Divines. Dispair began to fog her, and her once graceful sway began to grow careless.

The Sahira did not see the fae who dwell just on the peripheral edge of her vision.

The dark woman padded by as though the sky was heavy on her shoulders. A slow sway, dull eyes and aimless path as she blindly walked through the hillside. Eilonwy stared for a moment, soon forgetting her gathering duties, and felt an urge to find out what was bothering her. Uhm, hi! she said shyly, dropping the herbs near a large rock that she was sure could recognize to pick up her items later and trotted a few paces to catch up with the shadow lady. Is everything alright? she dared asking, not minding whether they knew each other from before. She just hated seeing people sad.

There was no place for deceit, now. Worry pricked at her, traveling up her succulent nape in a wave of bristled fur, racking back down a now risen ridge of ebony spine-
who dare-

Her indignation and wariness subsides once the words registered, once the meaning settled, and eventually so did the fur of her wispy cape. A sigh left her, a heaving huff that left her visibly drained- should the Ancients have forsaken her, surely it would have been a silent Amekaze here to deliver her word or even one of the darker henchwolves the alphess had conceived. The woman led an army of spawn!

I am with child,” her melodic shackle of dulcets crept across her company, slowly dancing as a solo ballerina would. “Yet I am alone.”

It was then the Goddess brought her garnets across the dark lupine, another of these void wolves- yet something bright danced within her. Something soft yearned to seep from such endearing voice. Something, the Witch concluded, easily manipulated .

Fully embracing this woman within her gaze, her blood goblet gems, she pleaded with body, soul, mind, magic-

Once my children come, Amekaze will slaughter them- I can not stay. Please say refuge lies near!...”

But every sky will build my throne.

A zap of fear ran through the ebony girl when she saw the woman's reaction to her approach. She bristled as though an attack was imminent, but relaxed when she saw Zafina let go of her tension. Something was wrong, something was very wrong and Eilonwy had to know what it was to better help her.

But finding out would be, perhaps, something the girl would later regret.

At first the news seemed far merrier than what the ethereal communicated through her demeanor. The dull in her eyes did not scream joy, exactly, but then she would find out where the darkness was coming from. Eilonwy entered a short state of shock at the realization that Ame wasn't so jolly as she'd seemed on their first meeting. Threatening the lives of babies was something Eilonwy had never even considered possible (so perhaps finding out how common it actually was would one day be quite the duel). That's not possible! Ame was so kind to me she said, almost sadly. She couldn't decide whether she believed it, but she was too afraid at that point to even think of asking the Moonspear queen directly.

It was almost pathetic to hear her own voice cry these things, but as she had dwelled with the mortals long enough to grow accustomed to their ways trickling into her. So long as their selfish traditions did not infect her, too.

But it is, and as of now, I am not safe- neither are my Creations. If I am to go, it must be before the birth.” Otherwise, there would truly be no joy...

As with every blessing came a curse.

A breeze came to whimper close to the Mothering woman, somber and woeful to the Goddess, but she would not be tethered where she did not wish to be. Her ways may have been backwards, but all practices only progressed her further. This childbearing was no different.

But every sky will build my throne.

Eilonwy was perplexed to find out such things about her new leader, but for as unbelievable as they sounded, it was all very possible. Zafina did seem to be heavily pregnant, and Eilonwy's female instincts quickly aligned with the dark woman's interests. One thing was clear:

We can't stay here,

But where to go? Refuge was not an easy thing to find for a lone female like Eilonwy had been when she'd first arrived at the moonspear, and she doubted it would be any different for someone so close to whelping. There were many complications to their situation, and How long till they're born? was a pressing concern.

She has let me get this far- who is to say she is not already on her warpath?” It was by far no delicate question, and it’s weight bore even heavier in her awful gaze.

We might seek refuge with the Melonii...they are the family which the male Maker resides with. Perhaps he too is there.” She hadn’t seen Marruz in atleast a full moon and a half, if not more. And Ancients forbid she see him- her wrath will be endless. He had foresaken her in her most important of times. She had no idea how mothering would be, nor what to do. Yet it could not be more painful that death, yes?

They are not far- just this way,” and she began to take the direction of the trail Marruz had slinked from, delicate limbs prematurely finding the softest places for sore pads to land.

But every sky will build my throne.

Suddenly Amekaze did not prompt a friendly image in Eilonwy's head anymore. Though she still was unsure what to think of her, she just couldn't see her as a caring mother anymore after finding out how hostile she could be to an expecting mother. Surely she was better than that, but the young girl wasn't really concerned about finding out about that at the moment.

Zafina suggested finding "the Melonii" to ask for refuge, and although the name didn't ring any bells anything sounded better than Moonspear right that second. Lets go, then she said, but that was just one more thing to add to the "regret later" collection of decisions made that day.

Eilonwy followed the dark woman without question, turning every now and then to make sure they weren't followed.

There was one thing though that still didn't completely cut it for the girl, and she wasn't one to hold back a question. How come you don't live with the father? there could be many reasons. For one, Eilonwy herself had grown up without a father and she believed women more than capable to raise their own kids without the need of anyone else (except for, you know... someone to feed her while she can't do it herself), but she knew there was most likely a reason for the cursed children's father not to be around.

At the agreeance, Zafina hurries her pace as much as her body would allow her, ignorant of the strain she was putting her catalyst through. She did not care- her selfish need to keep these young free was all she could muster her mind to fathom. She could barely focus on her escort’s words, the sounds barely registering until she needed to inhale.

He is nowhere to be found. And I can not rely on his faulty presence to keep these spawn safe. I am praying to the Divines that they allow my plan of refuge to root.”

It had to. If she could not birth in safety, this chaotic realm would be the end of them- the peons of this plane would overwhelm even her. The Witch was trapped in mortal frame- how could it not?

”Should I be accepted here, safely brought and given protection amongst his blood, I will bless you when you need it most,” she cast a promise of glance between her and her escort. A Goddess’ promise was always true to form, and once needed, Zafina or some miracle with the bipolar signature of the Divine, herself, would grace the woman with whatever it was she needed then and there.

They could not be too far now, could they? Time melted around her, seemingly taking years, throunsands of them, for them to reach these borders.
Where could they be?

The way Zafina spoke had Eilonwy nervous, with all the fancy words and ominous sentences. She kept wondering what the 'Divines' were, but was too scared to ask much anything. She was trying to focus on keeping the woman safe, making sure she didn't have an accident and the gods forbid she entered labor in the middle of their escape. She did seem plump enough that it looked like she could burst.

Eilonwy's eyes found her own garnet gems when she cast her promise, and a chill ran down her ashen spine. She couldn't tell what but something about it didn't seem to click, like it was somehow a suggestion that things were bound to get dark down the path in her life. But she didn't dwell too much on it, and instead tried to occupy her mind with thoughts other than her panic and the idea that this mysterious dad didn't seem at all trustworthy.

Fade?
