Unfortunately, @Eirwyn's milk wasn't enough to fill Famine's belly. He was growing faster than his siblings, filling out along the sides while remaining short in stature. Almost three weeks had passed since their birth, and already, he was noticeably larger than his favorite of the four, @Pestilence.

Famine found it difficult to get along with @Conquest. He'd learned her scent and begun to recognize her colors, and would often bother her solely for the promise of a reaction. @Death was less entertaining, but he was soft enough to use as a pillow during afternoon naps.

Slowly and shakily, he rose onto wobbly legs. The first few steps were laughably uncoordinated, but Famine quickly understood how one walks. His attention turned to the bright light at the mouth of their den, and the tiny glutton made his break.
