Sea Lion Shores What Can Your Gods Offer Me?

@Ragnar and @Thistle Cloud (Danni, you don't have to join but you're the second Alpha of SB so I thought I'd tag you just in case. ^_^) No need to match the length.

Melise was here, and she was ready. She was willing to prove herself to whomever came her way, so long as they were willing to do the same. She had traveled for many days to come across this shore and its ocean view, and she was tired of travel for once. She decided it was high time to lay down some roots in these... Teekon Wilds, as she had come to understand this area was called. She was an Arctic Wolf, and so the hot sun and sand were a bit of a bother for her. She had grown up far away on an arctic tundra that was frozen twelve moons out of the year, so this heat was still new and irritating.

Sometimes she wished she were back home, in the cold and the biting wind, but most of the time she was happy to be here, in this new place. She was a naturally eager explorer, and took exploration seriously. She wanted to meet everyone and do everything, and prove herself to anyone who would watch or listen. She wanted to learn new things: new skills, new cultures, new religions, new languages, it didn't matter what it was or who was teaching her. She didn't even care if someone was teaching her how to kill or maim or poison other wolves.

Melisandra had often been told that being neutral about all things moral was not a good thing. That it made her seem evil, or uncaring about those around her. She didn't care, though. All she wanted was something to do. Something to pass the time, something to grow muscle with or enlighten her mind with. She was determined to be the best she could be at anything and everything. And therefore, she didn't care if she had to kill to achieve new heights.

So, here she was, with an entirely new province to explore. New wolves, new packs, new ideas. Novelty was her greatest love, right up there with having a good conversation with a medicine wolf, the heat of battle, and lovemaking. She smelled the borders of a pack nearby, though she knew enough to stay well away from it. She had made the mistake of trespassing in the past, and she would not do so again. She was about fifty feet back from the scent line when she tilted her head and gave a howl to waken the dead, determined to get the attention of someone from within the pack -- hopefully an Alpha, or a Beta...

He had to see for himself that Wheeling Gull Isle had truly gone from their secluded Isle, after having deduced that it was true, their scents scattering into the four winds he began digging up their food caches they had created wondering if any of them were still full. He was not above raiding, which he had planned to do to them whether they had disbanded or not. As it happened for Ragnar his grim peridiction at the start had been proven correct — making the scarred Scandinavian wonder if he didn't have a touch of the Seer in him. It wasn't possible. The Seer of Odinn's Cove disfigured because he had been cursed by Odinn. His curse had been to interpret the will of the Gods by the signs they had given to him. Ragnar had began having dreams from the All-Father when he had began his Berserker training (consuming the drugged mushrooms_ though whether they could be considered oracle prophecies or not he did not know.

Ragnar had been on his way back from investigating, intending to come back to raid what he could before other predators realized what was there and took it from him. He'd began the trek back across Sea Lion Shores, the dry sand pliable beneath his large paws, while the sand dampened by the tide molded to the shape of his paw, curving beneath weight until he left a trail of paw prints until a wave reached greedily, splashing against his long legs, erasing any sign that the Viking had been there moments ago. It was as he began to near the arching curve that would welcome him home he had caught sight of the ivory female a few feet from the sands' scent markings moments before she had sent out her howl. It was loud and strong, and swiftly the Viking made to close the distance. Call the devil and he shall appear, Ragnar smirked coyly to himself at that thought biting back a soft chuckle as the heathen drew nearer to her. “Yes?” He inquired of her after giving a soft chuff to announce his presence so he did not startle her. It was odd, surely, that a Jarl would approach a potential joiner outside of his lands but Ragnar had been out and since Thistle had not came to greet her yet, though his wife seemed determined to allow him the exclusive rights to accepting or denying potential members. Ragnar was ok with that in a way, but while he maintained the position of the ultimate leader as Jarl, she too, had powers and he would not demean her importance to him and the pack.

Instead he wrote it off as her wanting to learn from him. “I am the Jarl of the pack you just howled for. I was out ...exploring.” It was one way of describing what he had been doing.
