Stavanger Bay a burning flame

The ivory prince sniffed the air once before approaching the beach, the waves were calm today, crashing against the beach in a slow rhythm, he sat down, the waves rushing towards him, lapping at his paws before retreating back into itself and unfolding again. It helped him to concentrate on well, positive things in his life rather than the negative. A part of him still wondered if it was right to leave Audhild in the hands of his father who had proved himself not a worthy Alpha. Would he torture here? No, he wouldn't hurt the tiny flame that ignited his life. A man could be jealous of his sons but his daughter would always be the light of his life. He supposed it was true. At least he had settled down now, in a pack where he could begin again. A new life. It could've been worse, he could have died on this long journey or forced to stay in a pack surrounded by land at all sides and although only a few members spoke Norse in this pack, it was better than none. Even if he couldn't speak it in front of those who did not know. The ivory prince wondered if anyone was going to the beach today, if anyone came along to its shores often. He did but perhaps the others preferred the safety within the borders of the pack. His thoughts wandered to the topic of trades, he had thought to pursue Outrider but wanted to stay to get used to Stavanger Bay so he was familiar with it.

Thistle woke and strode from the den, content with just a walk today. She was restless again and the heart that beat within her breast still adjusting, but she was happy for the most part .Though she was fast trying to figure out what to do with herself, now that their children were aging at a fast rate. Soon they would not need her anymore, and she would have to reaffirm a purpose to herself.

Thistle found herself traversing the beach land, the salty sea blowing it’s spray into her face and the gritty sand sinking beneath her paws. She would paw ever so often to sniff at the ground, finding the small sea creatures that came and went with the tide intriguing, she also was looking for shells of pretty designs with no living things to take to her children, spoil them with baubles. Her footfalls did not leave large marks as she was tiny and it showed, but she did not let it bother her so much, for the sea was vast and everyone was tiny to it.

Another scent drifted towards him and he pricked his ears. It was familiar. He rose to his paws and keen cerulean eyes found the Queen of the Bay. He approached her gracefully, dipping his head at her. “Halló, hvað ert þú að gera?" he asked, forgetting to speak English again. He realized his mistake a moment later and hurried to correct it, "Sorry, it takes time for me to get use to speaking English." he murmured an apology. "What are you doing? May I help?" he asked in his soft accented voice, eager to do something for the Queen. He blinked once as the sea sent its spray towards his face but his impassive expression did not change.

Thistle had not noticed the silver bear wolf until he spoke to her and she turned azure eyes towards him and offered him a small smile. She tried to catch his Norse, he spoke it quicker than Ragnar did around her, as she was still learning, but she got the just of it. "Það er allt í lagi ég huga ekki að tala tungumál sem ég er enn að læra, þó svo ég geti hrasa og mistakast, og ég biðst afsökunar fyrirfram. Ég get hjálpað þér með ensku ef þú vilt?"

She chuckled at him her laugh in no way offensive, she was merely laughing. It is okay Syver really. I do not mind speaking Norse, though I will admit I prefer English I don't make as many mistakes. She grew quiet then and sat to her haunches softly, and waited thinking of what she could answer him with. To be honest she had no rhyme or reason as to why she was out and about this late. She had nothing that needed done, nothing at all.

She looked to him again and smiled, I am merely walking is all. You could accompany me if you like, we are not allowed past the borders at the moment without an escort, but I do not think I will go that far anyway. Tell me about yourself Syver. and You may call me Thistle if it suits you.

"You are still learning?" he asked incredulously, "But you speak good Norse." he had told her that his English wasn't that good but he wouldn't mind speaking it if that was the Queen's native tongue and she was more fluent with it. Thistle chuckled gently, I am okay at Norse, my children are much more fluent, but they have been learning since birth. I myself am not so good at it sometimes. I cannot go through it as fast when I translate it in my head and sometimes I get hung up on the meaning. English was indeed Thistle’s native tongue, and Ragnar could speak it well now, but even at first when he had come his accent had caused some confusion within her at first.

So my husband Jarl Ragnar has stated no women or children past the borders without an escort. She shrugged then, she did not find fault with her husband’s decision felt it was the right one all things considered.

Thistle dipped her head I am sorry to hear that. I had two older half brothers that were killed. I have two brothers as well that were born in the same litter as me. My parents may have had more since I left I do not know though.

He did not wish to dwell on the darker subject instead changed direction. “Systir mín Audhild er mikið eins og þú, hún er góður og elskandi þó getur verið eins og grimmur eins og tígrisdýr ef þörf krefur. Hún myndi gera góða shieldmaiden og svo myndi þér, ef þú hefðir valið þessa leið." he spoke slowly before realizing he had spoken in Norse. "I hope you don't mind me suddenly speaking in ancient Norse, it takes time to adjust as back in my natal pack, everyone spoke Norse."

Thistle did not like the way the male was staring at her, it made her uncomfortable almost like she was a story or a puzzle he was trying to unfold. Not yet, but we are watching for him and his will punishment will be death. it was the simple if the other was to see him, he was to kill him dead.

Thistle shrugged I do not know how hard he is to find, I did not go looking I took care of Julooke she was my first and my last priority if my husband and the other males wish to hunt him down so be it. You talk to them about it.

Thistle tilted her head and spoke softly It is okay and I suppose you could consider me a shield maiden in training. Especially when it comes to my children and my family. Any who look at them sideways will have me to contend with I will rip out their guts and where them for decoration it’s that simple really. it was the truth she would no have anyone hurting her children or her family. And this pack they were her family. Even if she was not always happy with Ragnar the pack he was jarl of, they were her family too.
