Thistle rose with the sun and she stood outside watching it slide into place, the rays hitting her amber fur making it look golden and the white paw flashing it’s color for the world. She tilted her head and let the sun hit her blue eyes, making them look as if they were too iridescent pools of blue. She lifted muzzle to the sky and she sniffed, wondering what she could get into today. It was time to begin looking for herbs that much she was certain of, winter was coming fast and so was Nerian’s dratted heat season, so she needed ot be ready and may the gods give her strength to get through this, to share and to love. Because frankly her heart was torn and broken and she didn’t know how to handle it anymore. She put on a brave face, let everyone know she was fine, while deep inside she wasn’t and she never would be. She had been broken, Ragnar was right when he had told her he broke her, he had, but she was too stubborn and to loving to admit it. Didn’t want him to feel bad, not that he would the man didn’t seem to care who he hurt as long as he got what he wanted, and she knew that about him before she married him so it was to be expected. So she kept herself quiet as she watched the sun rise, tilting her head to watch closer.

She bent to the ground and rolled around on the ground, an itch she just had to scratch. Playful noises and growls came from her as she rolled around in the dirt like a puppy enjoying the day. She stood swiftly and shook the dirt from her pelt then sat quietly waiting for everyone else to wake up.

Gyda usually liked to sleep in and not be bothered by anyone or anything however today she had been woken up early by a paw to her head not able to figure out which of her brothers had woken her abruptly she noticed the absence of her mother. She may be self centered, and what puppy was not? But she missed her special time with her mother and Nerian was by far no replacement.

She got up and stretched her back paws far behind her then made her way toward the the sunlit entrance of the den being careful not to step upon or wake anyone else.

That was funny Mother, Gyda giggled as she padded out of the den and toward the warm scent that had provided her comfort from her very first taste of real air.

Gyda ambled over to her mother with her awkward growing puppy gait and squeeze herself between her mother's front paws looking up at the underside of Thistle's jaw she yawned tiredly.

Thistle snuffled the top of Gyda's head pulling gently on her ear and covering her face with licks. Good morning "litla prinsessan"

Thistle looked down and smiled, her daughter was already half her size as were her sons, they were going to be larger than her she'd wager, but well their father wasn't exactly small. She tilted her head and nuzzled her daughters downy shoulders happy to see her out and about and talking. But she did know that Gyda was a late riser, What woke you my child?

Thistle hummed softly in her chest as she waited patiently for her daughter to speak. She moved and the scabs across her shoulders pulled tightly and she wanted to growl in frustration, but she kept quiet instead.

By way of answer Gyda offered a conclusion she was coming too It's getting to be more and more fun to wake up with when the sun wakes up mother Gyda yawned showing that she wasn't quiet there yet though and rested her head on her mother's shoulder below her head. She was planning on resting her eyes more on the comfort of her mama instead she found injuries. Um.... Móðir, hvað gerðist við þig ??

Gyda looked at Thistle Cloud her eyes welling up with tears, she didn't know why her mother was hurt but her whole world crashed around her. Mother was a super wolf how could she get hurt? sure there was the time that Mother was tired all the time but Nerian was there and made sure they didn't see any injuries just icky plant stuff, but now Gyda was learning that the world was not just about her and she couldn't just ignore things anymore.

Thistle smiled at her daughter’s answer yes the sun is beautiful as it wakes up. Thistle’s heart went out to her daughter, especially when she saw the tears in her beautiful eyes. She ran her muzzle across her daughters face. " Hush, Hush litla Gyða. Það er allt í lagi, ég var að sjá um Unglingur og sumir Gryfalcons ráðist okkur. Við vorum að nálægt heimilum sínum. Ég mun vera í lagi, engin þörf að hafa áhyggjur." She nuzzled her daughters head trying to soothe her fears as she ran her head across her head and shoulders.

Gyda and the boys had not been around any wolf hurt before, not even Julooke. So she supposed this was new and different for Gyda, especially when the wolf in question was her mother. She grew quiet and tried to soothe with touches and licks.

oh.... I'm sorry Mother Gyda spoke as if it were all her fault. " Úff Úff!! " and now she whined as if she were the hurt one. When in reality Thistle and Ragnar had done so well in taking care of them Gyda had never felt real pain or hunger or anything bad really.

Gyda settled under her Mothers soothing touch though, magic as they were. Gyda sighed softly and snuggled close to her Mother. Gyda closed her eyes and rested her head on Thistle's Cloud shoulder again, a long moment past and she allowed the hurts to slip to the back of her mind.

Gyda had another question that she had thought of since Father had told her about Nerian's purpose in the den. " Faðir hefur tvær konur, ég skil því ég veit að hann hefur fullt og fullt af ást til að gefa. En getur stúlka hafa tvo eiginmenn eða fleiri?" It was innocent enough a question for a child. She had no idea she'd be opening a wound that was more raw but less physical. It was simply because Gyda wanted to know she was very much following in her Father's foot steps weither she realized it or not. She didn't think of 'if' she might take a husband but when she would. She wanted to have lots of sons just like her father or was she supposed to want Daughters like her? that was a question she decided she'd have to pose to Father.

Thistle chuckled at her daughter's sympathy ouches and licked her head. Laying a kiss right between her ears. Thank you daughter, but it is okay.

Thistle smiled down at her daughter as she settled in between her legs and up against her chest.

Thistle stiffled a gasp that threatened to come forth from her maw at the question and she blinked rapidly to quelch the tears that threatened to overtake her. She could not, would not say anything bad about this whole situation, she had promised Ragnar she wouldn't so she wouldn't, but gods did it hurt like hell fire and brimstone to keep her screams of unfairness and rage underneath it all. She would have been fine, if the question had not caught her off guard. So she tilted her head and spoke softly, "Það er spurning fyrir föður þínum, er ég hræddur Gyða, en persónulega sé ég ekki hvers vegna kona getur ekki haft fleiri en einn mann eða elskhuga, ef báðir karlar eru tilbúnir." She grew quiet then, hoping she had soothed some of her daughters questions, she did not however know the true answer. That answer alone resided with Ragnar.

Gyda frowned not happy with the answer, and now she caught finally caught a glimpse of something she didn't realize was there. Gyda stared up at her mother trying to decide what is was that she had caught a glimpse of and being as wholly inexperienced at life as she was she didn't quite understand.

Mother grew quiet and tears threatened to come to the surface of Gyda's eyes and she had no idea why, So she closed them and sighed softy snuggling closely into Thistle.

True to her child-like attention span she yawned again and thought of a new question Mum... this pack has many healers, what trade should I do to help out? I want to be big and important like you and father

Thistle saw her daughters frown and she knew she was not happy with the answer, but she had no other to give. It was simply how it was, she would have to deal with the answer regardless of whether or not she liked it. Thistle brushed her muzzle across her daughters head again gently licking her down ears and small cheeks. I love you Gyda.

Thistle chuckled It depends on what you like darling. Do you want to heal? Because if you do it is fine to heal. Your brother Gunnar is doing healing and warrior and gamekeeper. Thistle nosed her daughters head and then settled down just to pass the day with her little angel.
