In the middle of a morning jog, Saena met a lone female timber wolf. They were similarly petite, but where the former Blacktail sported feminine curves, the vagrant was all angles. After teaming up for an early hunt and successfully catching a fawn, the pair stuck together and chatted. Ordinarily, Saena didn't spend much time in the company of outsiders, but having cut ties with her former pack and joined the ranks of the homeless, she had no qualms talking for a while. They trotted through the Emberwood, discussing their futures as if they'd been friends forever. Admittedly, it was a pretty fast friendship, far faster than any Saena had ever made before, though it was also very temporary.

"Yeah, my family's from the south, and we're pretty close, but I've always wanted to live more north," the lone female, Audra, was saying. They'd already been over Saena's own plans to found a pack, and an offer had been extended, but the Wilds were still a little too central for Audra's tastes. Now that Saena was a lone wolf and had little to be high-strung about, the copper-streaked female could respect it. She smiled lightly and rejoined with, "it must be nice being close with your family. Mine's mostly gone to the four winds. The only one I'm really close with anymore is my sister. She lives in the north. Hey, maybe that'd be north enough for you?"

"Where are they?" asked Audra, clearly interested in any wolf that made their home further north, and certainly interested in a pack in the north. "Well, not really that far north, actually," Saena admitted sheepishly, "a few days, I think. She lives in a pack called Thief River Falls." At this, the lone female's eyes widened. "Like, they live at a real waterfall?" she asked, and Saena nodded, though she couldn't help but to frown curiously. Audra was quick to explain with, "It might be weird, but I love waterfalls! They're so serene and gorgeous and wild and... ahh," sighed the lone wolf.

"Great, maybe you can seek them out and see how you like 'em. The leader's Bones," Saena said with an encouraging bob of her head. Audra's step seemed to hasten at the very thought, but Saena was struck with an idea and quickly said, "hang on, can you do something for me if you're heading up that way?" Audra paused and nodded. Whether or not Saena could trust the loner to do as she asked was uncertain, but she figured there was no harm. Anyway, the reedy woman sort of owed her after telling her about a somewhat northern pack that lived by a waterfall, which apparently ticked all the boxes on her "dream home" checklist.

"My sister's name is @Junior . Can you bring her a message for me?" Audra was all ears; the loner was an Outrider, too, as Saena had learned early into their exchange. "Awesome, thanks. Tell her I thought about what she said and decided to do it, and tell her if she's still thinking about uprooting, there's a Beta position with her name on it if she wants it. No one else could possibly do it better than her." Naturally, there was one for Swordfish as well, when the pack got up and going. Saena didn't know how long it would take, so before Audra could scurry off in search of the waterfall pack, she added, "tell her she can take her time if she does want to, and... no hard feelings if she doesn't. It'll probably take a little while, anyway."

Audra nodded, relayed back the information, ensured she had the name right, and disappeared into the darkening forest. In a matter of a few days, the lone wolf would find Thief River Falls and would request to join, and when she did, she would deliver her message to one Junior Blacktail as a favour for the information. Saena watched her go, then turned toward the mountain range that stood tall over the Emberwood and began heading for higher ground.
