So Damien is deliberately going to start developing his dark side and I want to record that somewhere. I'm going to be using this thread to make read-only posts about Damien's precious solitude and creepiness.

Ever since Damien's encounter with the feral dog, dreams of those red eyes looking at him woke him in the middle of the night. Flashbacks. Foggy images of those moments when he had lost all conciousness came one by one in his dreams, filling out the puzzle with one piece at a time, but it still was not enough. The dark boy was going crazy trying to remember the black minutes coused by the Rage, but every time he tried it a brutal headache kept him at line.

Maybe he needed to go back to the place where it happened.

It didn't matter that is was the middle of the night, he needed to remember. He woke up and abandoned the cozy warmth of the Melonii family's den in silence, making sure no one noticed his absense, and double checking once he was outside of the den. He had to do it alone. And when he was sure that he was, he walked in silence to the place where the events had taken place.

The floor still reeked like dead dog -wet dead dog to be precise- so Damien could be sure that he was in the right spot. The darkness made it hard to see, but finally he distinguished the remains of the mutt scattered in the ground. It seemed like the ravens had had a feast on it.

Damien looked around at the scenery. It was different, less snowy than before, but just as dark. more flashbacks came to his head, but those he had already seen. Those growls felt alive in his head, those eyes. Those red eyes still fearful and hungry.

Disappointed, the pup came closer to the remains and started sniffing out every single bone. He could make out the spine in the darkness, and the skull. It had bite marks on it, Damien's bite marks. Flashbacks started blowing up in his head again, the rage, the blood, the lifeless dog's eyes. That was what Damien needed.

The pup took the skull between his jaws with delicacy and lifted it from the ground, and after taking one last look at the remains with apathy the night child took off to find a creek where he would clean the remaining skin off the yellowish cranium.
