Ayana's heart was pounding so fast, she thought she would collapse any moment. The cold air was burning in her lung, but the female did not stop running. Was she chasing something? She had forgotten about it. Was she fleeing? She did not know. All she did was run. As fast as she could. Without stopping. She shook her head while running and her golden fur was shaking around her face. Run. Run, Ayana. Run away. She gave in to her mind. She followed it. Something forced her to follow and she was not strong enough to stop. This feeling went on for several minutes, until she passed out.
The first thing she noticed was ... nothing. When she opened her eyes, all she saw was bright light. It took a few seconds until her eyes got used to the glaring sunlight, which seemed to be incredibly bright for the autumn months. Then, she started to hear birds singing and she felt the grass underneath her coat, which felt a little damp from the morning dew. Ayana stood up with shaking legs and shook her coat. She was muddy, hungry and thirsty. Definitely not one of the best moments in her life.
Suddenly she noticed something strange about this area. It was beautiful, green grass looked like a soft bed, but something was wrong. Ayana felt as if someone was watching her, and a weird scent was in the air. Wolves? Where was she? The female did not know about a pack to the east of Blacktail Deer Plateau and she knew this scent did not belong to Bearclaw Valley. Was there another pack she did not know of? Ayana looked around but did not find anyone, although the feeling of being watched was still there. The female took a few steps towards the unknown scent and looked around again.

He hadn’t strayed much from Jade Fern Grove after his interlude with the silver female who had preoccupied his thoughts since meeting her.
Instead, he attempted not to dwell upon the absolute storm that was his mate-ship, and focused instead upon maintaining their fresh borders and spending time with his family. The other adults were busy with the same thing, and thus far, the cinnamon wolf had been able to avoid discussions on many matters as such. Perhaps this was the benefit to being the Alpha of a pack of only four other adults.
Chance lead him to come upon the stranger perhaps quicker than what would be expected. Upon seeing her linger almost hesitantly on their borders, as if attempting to determine if they were claimed lands or not, indignation first stirred the regal to thrust his large form up dominantly.
Yet, exhaustion and reason came to play instantly after, and rather than instantly chase the she-wolf from coming any closer to his borders, the Frostfur made to intervene, his eyes sharp upon her. “You’re close to crossing in to lands that are looking to be claimed,” he offered, his tail giving an idle flick.

Ayana looked at the male coming closer to her and took a few steps back. She remembered her last encounter with a wolf that belonged to a pack, so this time she decided to be a lot more respectful, as she was not interested in being chased off again. The golden wolfe looked down onto her paws and her lowered her tail to apololgize. Then, she looked back at the male. Her mind would not make her seem subservient for too long, she used to be someone once! As the daughter of a - dead - Alpha she was not just a random wolf. Right?
Still looking at the male, Ayana decided to introduce herself and try talking to the wolf for a while. Maybe some company would help her sort out her mind. "Excuse my ungainly behaviour. I did not know of these lands or of packs living here", she said quietly. Then she introduced herself, being way more confident. "My name is Ayana. I am no threat. I was just wandering around just like loners do.", she said with a weak smile. Tired, she looked in the male's eyes, which were stunningly turquoise. "So a new pack will form here?", Ayana said. She was not able to hide her interest. At some point she needed to find a new home, and she still was not sure if she wanted to return to Blackfeather. No, you unworthy child. You'll never go back to Blackfeather. You disappointed everyone there.

She was submissive – a good form of apology to the protective male of the lands. He relaxed visibly as she lowered herself, though he did not allow his muzzle to droop below hers. Studying her carefully, he made no comment about her ‘ungainly behavior,’ forcing himself not to point out that there were scent markers in place.
Clearly, they would need to do more to completely lay their claim.
“Scimitar, Alpha of newly forming be Jade Fern Grove,” he offered. It answered her question t the very basics – but the newly forming pack was not necessarily in any position to turn down healthy wolves if they proved their worth at the borders.. he could not afford to be clipped with his tone. “Not necessarily a new pack as much as a new land. Our previous home was Nova Peak, north of here. It caught fire in the storm.”

Ayana's eyes widened when Scimitar metioned how Nova Peak got destroyed by the storm. She had heard about this pack, but little did she know about any relationship between them and Blackfeather Woods, her old home. A new pack ... interesting. Not that you would deserve a new home anyway, let alone find new friends or family, but shelter is something you clearly are in need of. Look at your muddy coat making you look all ugly and gross. Plus, it has been a while since you last got to hunt with other wolves and kill a large deer. Maybe Jade Fern Grove is an alternative...
Yes, maybe it was. But was Ayana willing to beg for a shelter again? For the third time in the past few moons? And considering her last attempts, there was only a 50% high chance that she would get accepted. The female was genuinely too proud to feel this shame again. However...
"Sorry for your loss. The storm destroyed large areas of my old home aswell. I used to be part of the Blackfeather Woods pack, but not anymore. I won't go back, I'm in the need of a new home. Somewhere where I can be myself and ..." Ayana's voice broke for a second when she though about Burke and Lusa. She missed them, but she would never be able to face them and admit that she failed at joining the Caledra. At least for now she wanted to leave her old life behind and have a fresh start.
"My old home is probably not very popular amongst other packs, I believe. But I'm willing to have a fresh start. So if your pack needs another wolf that is determined to fight for your pack and to ... help claim these lands, then I would offer myself. Think about it.", Ayana said, with a smirk on her face, still making sure the Alpha knew she was respecting him.

The moment she mentioned she had come from Blackfeather Woods, the entire demeanor of the male changed. His muscles tensed as he lifted himself higher, his eyes narrowing upon hr as his ears slid back to his skull. Menacing at best, Scimitar leered a step further, a snarl bubbling in his throat.
"No, they aren't," he affirmed, withholding himself from chasing her from the borders. His suspicions were rising -- was she here to spy on them from Blackfeather Woods, or were her words about leaving them true? "And the next time I see a Blackfeather wolf, I'm not going to hesitate to try to kill them. So you best explain to me why you're on my borders with the truth. Did Meldresi send you?" If she was here to spy, surely she wouldn't have even mentioned their enemies at all?

Ayana chuckled a little when Scimitar suspected her of being a spy. Ironically, Ayana really was on a mission as a spy on a pack, but not anymore. The Caledra did not let her in, and she failed. She disappointed everyone and her mind was killing her because of how guilty and disgusting it made her feel. She needed shelter and acceptance, or otherwise she wouldn't make it for a long time anymore.
The golden female looked in the magical eyes of the Alpha with a bit of a flirty, yet proper expression. "Do I look like someone Meldresi would trust?", Ayana said, referring to her light coat which did not make her look like one of Meldresi's pack." The Dark Queen might have her tricks, but I'm not serving her. Also, Burke is now ruling the pack. I left it for personal reasons...", Ayana said, suddenly stoppiing her sentence. Her throat hurt and her voice broke. "I shall be your loyal partner, Scimitar. I can help build up this pack, help claim the lands. You can be sure that I will prove my loyalty if I get the chance. A new home, a new family is what I need. Something to protect, something to fight for..."
She was being honest. Ayana wanted this, she needed it.

Her chuckle was not missed upon the male -- nor was it appreciated, only because he knew not the meaning behind it. His eyes narrowed, and the flirty expression cast to him was missed entirely in his own scrutiny as to whether he could trust her or not. "Do I look like someone Meldresi would trust?" His ears finally flickered forward once more, the scowl on his features brewing like a dark storm. "Does it look like I trust you?" He sure as hell didn't.
It was interesting to know Meldresi no longer served as queen to their lands -- but it mattered very little. His vendetta was not just against the black widow, but the entirety of her pack. And he would see them burn soon enough.
"And if we war with your old pack mates, who will your loyalty lie with? Battle is inevitable in this pack."

"I doubt that. But that is okay. You don't need to trust me just yet, trust needs to be built up in my opinion. For now, you should be able to accept me and then I will work on proving my loyalty to you. You can still try to kill me later if you needed to.", Ayana said calmly. She knew she needed his acceptance, and she was trying really hard to make sure he knew that she was no threat. This male was massive in size and he had several wolves standing behind him if he decided to scare Ayana away, but the female knew that this would not have to happn. She wouldn't betray her home, which is why she did not return to Blackfeather. Her failure was as bad as betrayal to her, and she did not want to put this much shame on herself.
The next question was a tricky one, however. It made her think for a second, not knowing if a simple "I would obviously stand by your side" would satisfy Scimitar. Ayana felt like he needed more approval, especially now that he got to know her sassy side. Ayana growled a bit at the thought of fighting against Lusa, who was her only real friend. But then she remembered that the last time she spoke to her was rather disappointing, as the female was depressed because of the loss of her children. And Burke would be very disappointed anyway, so she might aswell fight against him, it would not really make a difference, right?
"I was not very popular at Blackfeather, I have to admit. Not that I was disliked, but I am simply not the most sociable wolf. Which is why I never got emtionally attached to anyone there in the short time I called Blackfeather Woods my home. So I can assure you that during a fight I will stand by your side, Scimitar. You have my word.", Ayana said, slowly nodding at the male.

I added Ayana to the user group -- to have her fully show up, you need to go in to your User CP > Group Membership. At the very bottom of that, it will show the user groups your character is a part of -- you need to click the link beside Nova Peak that says 'Set as Display Group.' It's a current bug the staff are working through right now. :(
He still didn't trust her -- but it became obvious that he would not until she did prove herself. She seemed determined to enter their ranks despite his hesitance, and her tenacious nature could prove to be useful. He did not fear her for himself -- but if she was here to infiltrate their ranks, it would be quite easy for her to reach his children..
And the thought of that practically stole the air from his lungs.
But the wolves of the to-be Jade Fern Grove were distrusting by nature now, and no doubt they would keep an eye on her. The moment he told Bazi and Kaskara of her origins, they would certainly be quick to do so as well. "Fine," he relented, his tail giving an agitated flick. "The wolves of this pack are required to hold either a warden or warrior trade rank -- see to it that you work on this as soon as possible. You will be watched." His glare was not welcoming, but he did relax. Withholding his grudge, the cinnamon wolf moved forward, brushing his shoulder to her own to mark her with his scent -- and make her officially pack.

Ayana felt like jumping up into the sky, grabbing a cloud and never coming down again. She just got accepted and was able to prove herself in this pack, and nothing made her happier than that. Her mind kept quiet, it did not tell her that she was unworthy or a bad wolf, it simply did not say anything.
Her eyes were sparkling as Scimitar explained himself and the female was extremely excited. "Yes, I understand. I will think about it, although I guess a warden would fit my personality better.", she said quickly. Ayana almost forgot how to speak, she was busy imagining her future. What would life bring for her now? Would she be part of Jade Fern Grove forever?
The female looked into the blue eyes of her new leader. "Thank you, Scimitar. For giving me a chance. I will make sure you will not regret it.", Ayana said quietly. She did not want the male to believe she was desperate - which she kind of was, though - but she still let him know how thankful she was. Now, Ayana could not wait to meet her new pack members, maybe even new friends.

She seemed agreeable to the requirements, and the male gave a nod. He made no comment about her seeking out warden above the others – Scimitar was a wolf of little words as it was. Pushing away from her after he had rubbed his scent upon her, the male gave her one last glance over, nodding again as she thanked him. He felt uneasy about accepting a wolf from Blackfeather Woods in to their fold, and would be quick to inform @Bazi and @Kaskara of his decision. No doubt the former would give him an earful.. which would be more words than they had spoken to one another in days.
“Feel free to explore your new home, then,” he offered, pulling away now to further move along the borders. “The caches are still small, as we are only newly settling here, but if you need something, help yourself.” With one final glance, the cinnamon wolf swept away, leaving her to her thoughts.
