Pura had the misfortune of being rather far away from the rendezvous site when the whole thing went down, and there was nobody to comfort him when the forest began to shiver with anticipation. He felt it at the very core of his being, and so did the rest of the forest. Critters of all shapes and sizes emerged from their hiding places, some staring skywards, some screeching, and all of them upset.

Pura settled down in the arms of an ancient tree and shuffled until his back was pressed firmly against the trunk. From here, he had a decent view of the sun - its glare mercifully lessened by the cover of leaves, though Pura didn't know enough about the blinding effects of an eclipse to be thankful. Metallic eyes squinted a the celestial wonder that was unfolding. Something up there, something huge.. was eating the sun.
