a ravine once held coyotes. it is here she finds water, succor, and shelter.
a ravine which once held coyotes invite them back. them or larger teeth.
it is the latter which finds iza, a lone wolf gone rabid in the heat of the empty desert.
they tear one another. he for his sickness. she for her life.
iza is spared the slow death. blood burbles in torn throat as she lies curled in the very back of the coyote cave.
