Maybe @Kai if you have time?
The small fox had gone about exploring the territories neighboring the beach. Her friend @Maya didn't like the beach, but that didn't stop Chavi from loving it! But, her curiosity knew no bounds and so she extended beyond the sandy dreamscape and onto something a little more slippery.
She had come from further south, and while she had experienced ice before, it was always on level ground and not nearly any fun. Right now, her wide eyes stared up at the glacier that stood before her, her jaw lax with awe. This is going to be So. Much. Fun! she squealed. Suddenly, she bounded up the icy landscape, slipping and sliding but making her way up. When she got to the top, she turned to face the bottom. She stepped forward and began sliding down the glacier with a laugh. When she reached the bottom, she turned to do it again.

The wolfdog could not have answered where she had come from, why she had come to these lands, or why she was on a glacier.
From the north, the cape dotted with tidepools, she had wandered into the forest somewhere and there was a blank hole where her memory between the forest and the glacier should have been. Unconcerned, the merle witch shook out a pelt of dreads - disturbing the fisher riding upon her back - and continued on her way to the western edge of the glacier.
The girl had climbed it for curiosity's sake, but as she reached the far edge she recognized the small canid form of a fox - though not the kind of coastal fox that her foster mother had been.
Kai chirped at the vixen, a perfect immitation of a fox. For a moment, she had forgotten that she was not one of Elin's brood and that her lupine appearance might frighten the fox.

tula was riding along on the dog's back, talons clinging to the matted fur of her spine. she swayed with each of kai's steps, occasionally dosing in her seat.
she was awakened only when the girl chirped, using the sounds the foxes she'd seen rarely in her life made. she gave a self-important rattle, introducing herself to the canid across the way.

She stopped in her tracks at the sound of another fox. She turned her head, her gaze searching, expecting to find it. Instead, an interesting-looking predator greeted her. Was that a bird on its back? Chavi did not hesitate to find out. She chirped back and bounded happily over to the pair.
Hey! I'm Chavi! You sound just like me! she said in awe. She had never met another creature who could mimic her noises. Is that your friend? she asked of the avian upon her back.

Most foxes feared wolves - with good reason as the canids were easily eaten by their larger relatives - but this vixen bounded up to the wolfdog joyfully with an excited chirp. Kai smiled, a jaunty wag of her tail seen over her haunches.
"M..mother...a..fox," she managed to stammer out softly, her speech broken from her multiple falls into the seas and down cliffs. The lack of syntax and grammar didn't seem to bother her for her dreaded tail kept up a cheerful sway. "K..Kai."
"Tula," she introduced, turning her 'cracked' eye on the bird. Her chestnut-banded chest puffed with recognition of her own name and the bird peeped importantly.

tula peered at the vixen with warm, beady eyes as she approached. the bird ruffled her feathers in excitement, wondering if kai might have another familiar soon to join them. it had been some time since kai had another companion and she had missed mohibe and nanga dreadfully.
the fisher puffed proudly as she was introduced, peeping with importance as she posed so that chavi might see her from her best angle.

The unique-looking creature in front of her was friendly, and that made Chavi even more excited. Her eyes grew wide when she admitted her mother had been a fox. Wow! That's awesome! We could be like... sisters! she exclaimed, not realizing Kai didn't mean biological mother. Her stammer didn't cause Chavi to miss a beat, either.
Nice to meet you, Kai, she replied with a smile. Her gaze turned to the bird upon her back. Nice to meet you, too, Tula, she added. The bird puffed up and Chavi couldn't resist staring. She had never been so close to a bird before without it flying away. How did you two become friends? she asked, not able to curve her curiosity.

Kai no longer has the words to explain that Elin was her adoptive mother and merely smiles, giving a small nod. If it made Chavi happy to think they were sisters, she wouldn't kill the girl's mirth.
Her stammer and the fact that she has a bird on her back do little to startle the vixen and Kai wonders if it's naivety or courage that makes Chavi so bold.
"F-Found Tula. H..hurt." She motions for the bird to come closer, to perch on the bridge of her patchy nose, and once the bird is in place she lowers her head so the coven might see the scar along Tula's underside. It was long healed but clearly the bite mark of a smaller canid - a coyote perhaps.

the bird is always available to show off. when kai motions for her to come closer, the bird hops across her head - using the girl's dreads as a ladder. she perches on kai's paint-stained muzzle and twists as if to say - bam! look at me!
the scar across her belly is faded but clearly visible when she lifts a steel-colored wing. she peeps haughtily as if to say as if they could kill me!

She wasn't corrected, and Chavi was gleeful about having met someone she could consider family. Having just left her own, it wasn't surprising she would be looking for an adoptive family. And the pair before her would do just fine.
Her eyes traveled back to Tula, widening as the bird fluffed and showed her scar. Woooow, she said in awe. She then took the liberty to take in the rest of the small bird. You're so pretty, she said with a smile. Her gaze went back to Kai. You're both so unique. Like nothing I've seen before, she admitted. Honestly, Chavi hadn't been alive long enough to see much. But, even if she had, this pair would still stand out among the crowd.

Kai smiled, albeit it was somewhat wistful, for she'd never received a compliment on her odd looks. If anything, she'd despised her appearance for being so odd. Her tail a hesitant wag, unaccustomed to the flush of warmth under her breastbone.
"T..Thanks," she murmured, "you're p..pretty too." The wolfdog gestured to the glacier's slope. "W..what were y..y..you d..doing?"

she fluffed importantly under the vixen's compliment - shooting kai a look as if to say you see? i'm not the only one who recognizes my beauty. she posed for a few moments longer before her attention was caught by kai's question. she added her own curious peep to the question, wondering what chavi had been up to as well.

Her face broke out into a bright smile when she was called pretty. Thank you! she replied happily. The wolfdog asked what she was doing, and the birdie followed it up with an inquiring chirp. The vixen's tail waved back and forth as she looked back at the glacier, and then back to her new friends.
I was sliding! she exclaimed. It's really fun! You should try it! she said, her voice full of excitement. Come on! I'll do it with you! As if she expected them to follow, she turned and headed back up the glacier.

The wolfdog dipped her spotted head as if to say you're welcome. She followed after the fox, curious but somewhat reluctant given her tendency to fall down cliffs and lose chunks of her memories.

she followed behind, taking flight as chavi and kai headed for the edge of the glacier. she was not a fan of sliding and was not likely to participate, as she could easily be injured in the process. she soared overhead, prepared to fly down to kai.
