All Welcome
Elowyn hummed quietly to herself as she wandered the river. It was always her favorite spot. After a moment, she stopped to lap up some of the nearly frozen water.

She still hadn't met very many people from Great Sky, but she could smell some of their scents in the air with gusts of wind.

A part of her wanted to let out a howl, but she was still close to others in the area. She hadn't sang in front of anyone in quite some time, but she enjoyed singing to herself.

So, she did so, quietly as she continued walking along the river. Until she found a spot to sit and rest and continued her song.

As luck would have it - for Miska, perhaps not Elowyn - she had chosen to wander the same stretch of river as the most crass and unrefined of her packmates.

The black wolf had been gnawing on femur when the music reached him. A large boulder hid him from view, and though he would have liked nothing more than to scare the shit out of the singer, Miska tempered his inner gremlin. It was important to be liked. Tolerated, at least for the winter.

He stayed where he was, listened with closed eyes, and eventually added a  second, deeper voice to hers - no words, only melody.

The sound of the second voice startled Elowyn. She wasn't totally sure if it was Miska, and a part of her wondered how she'd managed to make the same mistake twice. But, if it was Miska, she was thankful he hadn't come to confront her the way that he had the first time.

She paused for a moment to get her bearings when the second voice joined, but after a moment, she decided to get over her fear and lifted her head to continue singing, this time just a bit louder than she had before. She was testing herself and her voice, and the voice of the other wolf singing.

Elowyn fell silent. Miska was about to stand and reveal himself when she began to sing again, and with a little more power. Her voice really was lovely.

Behind his rock, Miska grinned his shark grin - or perhaps it was a smile trying its best. He listened for a beat, drew breath, and attempted a harmony. Go hard or go home.

1 he succeeds at harmonizing, 2 he does not. Aaand... roll! Result: 1

Elowyn had been wanting to get out of her shell and sing more. However, she always got a bit nervous with an audience. Which is why she got so scared when Miska had wanted her to sing before.

Though she had an audience now, it felt different not seeing her harmonizer.

Her voice raised a bit, gaining more confidence as the other voice managed to harmonize.

Miska had not sung anything more complex than lewd shanties since childhood, and was delighted when his gamble paid off. Their song gained texture, and Elowyn's confidence seemed to grow exponentially.

Miska needed more air. He pushed himself into a sit - his voice deepened, grew richer. A pair of black ears peeked over the top of the boulder.

Perhaps singing with an audience wasn't so bad. Elowyn considered the thought as she sang out. She could hear a shifting in the harmonizing voice and her gaze shifted toward the voice, and she saw the ears peek up over the boulder.

She didn't let the bit of nervousness that seeped in stop her singing and she continued until she finished the song.

Once the song was finished, Elowyn watched the ears. "Hello," she said after a few moments.
