It'd been an eventful few days, although Moorhen did not know the half of it. There had been a strange smell, and they had moved. She'd been carried by Szymon across a strange and alien land, and had - for the first time - laid eyes on the sea. The girl knew from Doe's stories that it was the sea, for it stretched on beyond anything she'd ever dreamed possible - longer than the the roof of the Stone Den was high.
And they were in a Different Place, now. Moor wondered when they would return to the Stone Den, to home, but in short order, all the comforts of that place were transfered to the new one. Her siblings, the furs, and eventually, even Doe and Muses. Szymon had watched them in-between, and Moorhen didn't mind her uncle, but it made her anxious to have both of her primary caretakers so far away.
But she'd slept all that off. The New Place was there home, now, and that was that, but after being shown that there was so much... more than stone walls and darkness, the child could not be kept inside much longer. As soon as she and her siblings were left alone, she strutted freely into the light, mimmicking the wary stance of her uncle as she emerged into the light, blinked into the sun for the first time.
For a moment, she simply stood there, gazing around.

isengrim didn't know what to make of these people. all he knew was, they slept where he slept, they shared a mom (?), and they looked relatively like himself. but yet, something sketchy was going on and he just knew it. these beings seemed to co-exist alongside him like they were his sibs, infiltrating themselves into his mother's graces. all he knew was, he wasn't getting any answers from mother herself, who seemed to always liked to pretend she didn't know what he was saying when his speech was totally coherent, duh. it frustrated him to the point where he began to visibly swell in the face and sulk in his own mini misery. it wasn't his fault that his verbal abilities were lacking!
pouting, he watched as one of Them departed the den when it was perfectly clear they were to stay put. baffled, he looked around, searching for someone, anyone to tattle to. when no such higher being was found, he picked himself up and stealthily crept along behind the brethren, so basically, galloping mouth-open behind the other through the snow like a total creep.
somewhere along the way, he found himself angry that the thing had dared to even leave. you couldn't just leave the den. right? it was one of those things you just didn't do without mom or dad. but the thing had done it, so he guessed he could too. but, he wanted to do it first! when he finally caught up to the other (tiny forelegs heaving himself up and over snowbanks with little success) he felt an overwhelming sense of triumph, something that he would seek to feel many times in his future.
with ni hesitation did he shove himself in front of the stranger, blocking any view she had previously been serenely gazing at with his wide-eyed chubby face. "wabut do hoo?" he pushed his nose in the others direction, eyes characteristically narrowed in display of his kid emotions. isengrim demanded to know exactly what she thought she was doing and what exactly was fun about it!

She'd heard her cousin emerge from the den, and had placed his identity by smell long before he planted himself in front of her. The little shewolf should have expected him to do something like that, but in the folly of youth, had thought herself to be safe. A soft, stunted gasp of shock escaped her, and she reared back in an effort to put some distance between herself and the bigger foe - even now, avoidance was her favorite tactic.
A few hop-drag-steps got her the few critical centimeters she needed to be comfortable, and then, once again, a sigh passed by her black lips - one of relief, this time. She was unharmed, and so she was not upset, but she looked warily upon her older cousin, wondering what he could want from her. He did not seem to be in a friendly mood, but she was not certain that he was ever in a friendly mood.
