Shadowed timbers rose, their fingers reaching towards the heavens in a desperate effort to touch the glittering canvas above. To some they might have appeared threatening, maybe even frightening as the loomed over any creature that dared to venture out in when it was the domain of darkness and the murderous moon. And yet at least one canine seemed comfortable with this aspect of the world, alert to the pale eyes that blinked in the azure gloom. Deep russet audits flickered to every sound, to any rustle that might trigger a twitch in a nearby brush. Her muscles ached, her limbs screamed in protest of her movements from her long adventure. Wounds would heal, aches would fade. It was the loneliness that had consumed her soul, wishing that she had a companion over the long days and even longer nights since her banishment.
Copper gaze seemed to vast blackness, her eyes had already adjusted to allow her sight to see past the young and old timbers that seemed to surround her but that was not what caught her attention. It would seem that hardened sap trickled down the thick bark but that not what she found unusual, she had seen this phenomenon before. No, it was the color that stuck her odd, even in the silvery light of the moon she could see this. Red, dark and gleaming like the blood that fell from an inured animal. The trees look like they had been bleeding, how strange. For the moment the lonely girl stood there, peering curiously at the bloody sap.
