Grimsley glanced to the peak his paws carried him toward frequently, making certain his path was correct and growing more eager to climb with every step. He had been walking all night and he did not want to stop now, though the creep of dawn was lightening the sky. He'd come upon a thick nestle of pine trees not long ago and though he smelled the pack scent, he had pushed through. He kept himself to the very edge, as away from the true border as he could manage, but he moved with purpose and would not be dissuaded from his path. He had decided where to go and how to get there and he had no intention of changing his itinerary.
After one particularly long look upward, Grimsley's eyes swung the opposite way to stare into the dark pine trees. What a place to sleep for the night. It seemed to block the sun almost completely and would no doubt be several degrees cooler than the outside. If he moved fast enough, he would gain elevation and experience a relief in heat in that way, instead. He was not naïve, though. It would take many more days of travel for him to scale the peak. He did not know the way or whether it had been made suitable for wolven travel. It made the pine forest all the more tempting but Grimsley was uninterested in starting bad blood with anyone at the moment and with a frown he looked reluctantly away, shoving the idea of breaking and entering out of his mind.
He would just have to be hot on this day. If he found what he was looking for, he wouldn't have to suffer for much longer, anyway.

Man, it was hot. Lenny was grateful for the shadowy pine trees that offered ample shade from the burning sun, but her thick black fur was like a microwave on her skin. Hot, hot hot. And also very boring. Things had been quiet on her end lately, aside from the frequent patrols and nights in with her sister. But there was hardly anything happening - the pack was quiet, aside from the slight drama with a forming pack recently. But from what she understood, that had been handled.
So now, here she was, bored and burning up. It genuinely sucked.
Traveling toward the edge of the trees, moonstone eyes scanned her surroundings. She hadn't expected to run into anyone else out here today - she figured she'd be the only one bored enough to actually brave this heat - but there was a dark figure, coated in white spots, not too far from the border. Still, he wasn't encroaching on their territory, so there was no need for being aggressive.
The girl crossed the border and offered the large, splashed white wolf. What an interesting pattern. "Figured I'd be the only one out in this heat today," she offered with a wag of her tail, trying for friendliness.

He smelled her before he saw her - a distinctly stronger scent among the vague, but strong, reek of the pack border. He slowed as she approached, expecting hostility. Grimsley was already deciding how to handle the situation diplomatically when she greeted him with friendliness. Grimsley was surprised but it was not unwelcome. He hadn't really been trespassing, true, but he wasn’t sure how well he would have tolerated someone so close to his own borders.
"Morning." he said, his body language carefully neutral but not submissive - never submissive. "I would prefer not to be if it could be avoided. I am eager to make my way to higher elevation and traveling only by night would slow my progress." He explained in a rumbling voice. "I won’t be pushing on your borders for long."
