Urzba picked her way along the path carefully, not wanting to pierce her paws on any sharp rocks. This was a strange place, devoid of any life, except for the evergreen trees in the distance. Not a place she wanted to be at night. She'd much rather be huddled in the safety of a forest, somewhere protected from the elements and not out in the open where any predators larger than herself could spot her so easily. Of course, if it came down to a fight, she'd fight to the death. Still... She'd rather avoid that.
As she padded along slowly, head down to watch for stones, but lifting every now and then to sweep the area, she heard a sudden strange screeching noise. It was not quite a screech. More of a... tweeting, twittering sound. Not quite a bird. No... A bat! A bat? She squinted into the night sky, trying to pinpoint it, and found it fluttering toward her like a... well, a bat out of hell!
"What--" she began, but cut herself off and ducked as it swooped down toward her. "Hey!" What the hell was wrong with this thing? And where had it even come from? The trees far away? Why was it--
It swooped down on her again, making a gods-awful sound now, and though she took off and ran away--a fight with a cougar was one thing, but how could you fight something that flew?--it caught up with her too easily. And then...
It bit her, appearing in front of her face and looming much larger than it actually was, latching onto her muzzle. She yelled in pain as it pierced her flesh and flung her head around from side to side, attempting to dislodge the crazy bat. Eventually, when that did not work, she threw her head into the ground face-first, slamming the bat's body into the rocks. It let go of her, then, and she quickly pounced on it, tearing it to pieces, the taste of blood in her mouth.
After some time of tearing and eating--why let a perfectly good meal go to waste?--she took several deep breaths, muzzle covered in a mix of her own blood and the bat's, and slumped over onto her side to sleep. This whole ordeal had been exhausting...
Little did she know, as she drifted off to sleep, that the bat had had rabies, and had given it to her...

!! Urzba has rabies! Interact with her at your own peril. Should she bite your character, they will contract rabies! (Will only give your character rabies if you want, of course).
